I had never been to McAlester before so I ventured out for a day trip. I like to check out local diners and I love breakfast so this place seemed like a good choice. It was! The ham and cheese omelette had generous portions of ham and cheese. The hash browns were delicious! The English muffin was toasted just the way I requested. What About Bobs seems to be a popular road trip stop and that's exactly how my friends and I came across this slightly hidden location. We were driving back to Dallas from AR, craving brunch food. We found this place on Yelp and had to try it out. The employees are some of the friendliest I've ever met while eating out. I got the Western omelette. The portion was amazing for the price but the food itself is very basic tasting. My friends' dishes looked the same way. That's the only reason for taking one star off. However, the portions, nice servers, and generally friendly atmosphere are enough for me to highly recommend What About Bobs to anyone passing through. I'm more than happy that my friends and I had to opportunity to come across this place. read more

Great food, people and a solid establishment! We were driving through Oklahoma and looking for a place for an early lunch. I am a bit of a sucker for dinners in small towns and Bob's did not disappoint. I had their biscuits with the sausage gravy and it was a solid 7 on a 10 point scale. I got to graze on the rest of the families breakfast platters and the pancakes, French toast, bacon, and sausages were all tasty and prepared well. The staff was really friendly and we were waited on in a timely manner and they quickly served our food. We left full, happy, and will be back! read more

Just had breakfast there. Really quite good. I had a large Meaty omelet with cheese, hash browns and an english muffin. Wow, great food and very good prices. Service was fast and friendly; a very nice place for breakfast/lunch. The service was great...always refilling coffee cups, etc. Very attentive. My dining companions also had omelets and the like. Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch on our way back to Texas. Large portions so totally shareable. We had the vege omelette, biscuits and gravy, chicken salad and the grilled chicken sandwich. All were very good. The chicken salad come with a lot of cheese on it. So be aware of that if you are not a fan of tons of cheese. The biscuits were really tasty and not dry at all like some biscuits can be. read more

This place was recommended by a friend for their breakfast. The menu was standard and had the normal breakfast options. I typically get a little bit of a few things aT breakfasts places. I got French toast, biscuits and gravy with bacon. The French toast had a little too much egg for my liking. The biscuits and gravy was delicious! The bacon was crispy and done how i like. One of those "can't miss" spots in town here. It may not be some people's style visually. But the food is hard to beat. They have incredible breakfasts. Particularly the hamburger omelet. Portions are big enough to feed more than one person easily, or if you're like me, to gorge yourself on and not need another meal for a day or two. Again, incredible breakfasts and lunches. Wasn't impressed at all. The room smelled of cigarettes. The food was just ok. I wouldn't even go if someone paid for my meal.

We were craving pancakes and this place didn't disappoint! My husband got the bob's pancake and I got the blueberry. Both delicious. Coffee stayed filled. Good friendly service. But the thing that caused me to give it such a low rating was the very loud foul language coming from the kitchen. Always delicious and service with a smile. Really feels like family when you go in here. I have many memories in this place - even in the old location. I miss seeing Bob, though, he was great. He always pulled up a chair and talked to us while we ate lunch and called me "Princess" the whole time I was growing up. His kids are great though - keeping the yummy, friendly legacy alive.
