Slowest and worst whataburger I've been to. 25 mins in the drive through line? It was not a special order, just 2 burgers and chicken strips. If I hadn't have paid already I would have left. I Had enough time to the restroom during the time we waited...on my way in there was trash by the front doors then I got to the restroom...which was dirty too. Yuck. Last thing, they forgot the spicy ketchup that we asked for twice. They should have stayed in Texas because it's gone downhill since. First time at a Whataburger and it was pretty okay. The bathroom was clean and the employee that was in there washed her hands! We ordered the #1 meal with everything on it plus cheese and upgraded for the reusable cup. The burger, fries, and ketchup all taste exactly like the McDonald's versions. The tomatoes on the burger were not ripe yet which was disappointing given the time of year. As midwesterners, we were also disappointed about them not having ranch but the ketchup was fine! The building is very old and it definitely hasn't been renovated...ever. The manager was nice and the lady that helped us at the counter was patient. It was a very busy place inside and in the drive-thru, but our order still came out fast and warm, besides the fries which were room temp but salted perfectly. read more

I feel like everything I'm about Mom experience went wrong. This was the first Whataburger I've ever been to and my french fries came out cold as well as the rest of my meal . I mean my french fries were coded than my iced tea with ice and I think that was a problem. My cheeseburger was cold for how long it took them to make it. I was really shocked that my first time ever experiencing what a burger was so terrible when I've heard good things about it. I mean, at least the restaurant looked nice, but that was about it. Workers were trying but management failed to manage. No carbonation for sodas, tables weren't being wiped down, and they were way slow pushing the food out. Management needs to study the Freddy's, Raising Cane's, and McDonald's service model. It's a shame with such a great location off interstate but this business is broken. Plenty of labor was available and working hard, just not utilized correctly. Burgers were great, but customer service was VERY poor. I have a family member with an intellectual disability, that requires a puree diet because he aspirates. He is 75. The plug ins were located at the top of the wall, almost on the ceiling. When I asked to use a plug in the back for our portable puree machine , they acted like it was a HUGE deal. 30 minutes waiting chicken sandwich's. After waiting my sandwich's didn't come how I asked for them. Which left me sitting here 50 minutes.

I love Whataburger. They not only have some of the best burgers in the area but they let you customize as much as you like. Their onion rings are just as good as the burgers and their milk shakes are awesome, too. Also on the menu are chicken sandwiches, salads, breakfast items, and apple slices. Let me recommend their breakfast burger with hash browns, a fried egg, and bacon added to their burger, and the honey butter chicken biscuit if you visit for late night or breakfast. Do be prepared for what can be a lengthy wait. All food is cooked fresh to order so it takes a while but it is usually worth it. Their hours are getting a bit unpredictable though. Normally 24 hours, my last visit around 10 pm night before last, they were closed. The lights were on, drive through menu and light were on. I sat there 15 minutes before driving around to find a lighted restaurant closed up tight with a printed paper note on the door simply saying closed. read more

I'm hoping maybe it was just bad timing, but wasn't super impressed with our stop here. They were understandably overwhelmed by the line near lunch time right off the interstate (and a wreck causing a pretty big backup made this even worse) and from a service standpoint I think they handled it well. Having the door open for the line made the flies pretty unbearable (not what you want while in a restaurant.) Food was all right - not bad, but not what my friends had raved about. Definitely a decent burger, better than McDonald's, but nothing to write home about. Started this as a 3-start but giving them some grace for being visibly understaffed and doing the best they could with things out of their control. After two previous visits where we ended up walking out due to extremely slow service, we made it 3 for 3 today. Walked in for lunch today, and as usual they had one person taking orders, and a couple standing around trying to look busy. Being that I live in Tennessee, Whataburger is not something we have back home but I was told it was a must-try when driving through Alabama. This location of this Whataburger is the perfect stop if you are driving from the gulf coast back up through Alabama as it is right off of the interstate. When we arrived the parking lot was full and there was a long line. I was dubious if we would ever get to the front of the line but the line went quickly and the staff were doing their best to serve a large number of people. It was obvious that there were a fair amount of other roadtrippers but the crowd was all fine. I ordered a #7 combo (Whataburger jr with small french fries and a 20 oz drink) and my boyfriend ordered the #2 combo (Double Meat Whataburger with medium fries and a 32 oz drink). I think that the food was okay but didn't think it any better than other regional burger chains like Culver's. It is a step up from say a McDonald's but to me still a good burger. I did like the fact that they have spicy ketchup, which were great with the fries (and I might have snuck a few containers home in my purse!) Overall, a decent place for a burger and I wouldn't mind stopping in again when passing through. read more

I kept seeing that big sign on the side of the road with the chicken strip sandwich so I had to give it a try. I got the Honey BBQ strip sandwich on Texas toast. Comes with 3 huge chicken strips with BBQ and Monterey Jack cheese. It was good but there is more breading than there is chicken. It was just so so, but I do recommend getting it on the toast and not the bun. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with my order. This is a great location, very clean, fast and everyone on top of their game. I highly recommend stopping in at this location when you can. read more

I know, I went to a fast food joint in rural Alabama. What did I expect. Since I have heard about this place in movies, and comics I would have thoufht it would be better than the average fast food place. It was not. It was also dirty, possibly due to the neighboring RV park. There were nothing but dirty tables, food and wrappers on the floor, no paper towels in the men's room, and too much sauce on all the food. Which leads to more mess. I would have given this place 2 stars and hour ago, but now that my wife and I have stomach pains and need to use the bathroom, we are down to 1 star. As a Texan I have carried whataburger on a plane to. Ring tinny loved ones so you can imagine my surprise as we were traveling and seeing a whataburger in an area that most folks have never heard of what a whataburger is. I was beyond happy to come across this place. What I didn't realize I would come across is such rude people. While ordering I had the lady yell at me "what else do you want" as I was trying to tell her that I did not want my cinnamon roll heated. When I got to the window and tried to explain to her that we were traveling and I didn't want my cinnamon roll heated and if they could please wrap it so it would stay fresh until I got it to where I was going she once again was rude. Paid her and she handed me my bag and then closed the window without giving me my change. I sat in the window and she came back and I said "my change" and she said "oh, yeah" as she is holding my dollars in her hand. When I gave my loved one the cinnamon roll and they opened it up we saw that they wrapped the container and the cinnamon roll with about 3 feet on Saran Wrap, guess they thought that they were being funny. However they don't have to worry about us coming back any time soon. read more

I'm from Texas... the birthplace of Whataburger. We travel a lot for work, so I love seeing Whataburger in other states. It's like a little comfort of home. That being said, the Clanton Whataburger is an abomination. I don't say this lightly. The ridiculously slow service, I can usually get over. Never giving me my ketchup, I can look past. However, I had to wait a week to write a review of this place so I wouldn't write it from my pits of hell angry place and not be constructive. 1. We ordered our food and waited... and waited... and waited... and... you get the point. 2. We pay. The girl with long blonde hair who took our order and money is nice enough, if not distracted. She asked us to pull forward just past the trash can and wait. There's a car waiting in the right hand lane (lane b) as well and she was there waiting when we finished ordering 2 cars back. Again we waited and waited... lane b lady is still waiting. 3. 2 female employees exit the building to go home. They've ALMOST made it to their cars when blonde girl exits the building holding a bag of food, which I assumed was for the lady in lane b. She starts shouting the name of one of the girls who just left, and walks past our car toward the off duty employees. She doesn't head for the car in lane b, as I thought she would, but instead remembers she has someone's food in her hand, comes back to my driver's side mirror, doesn't even look at me as she shoves the bag through the corner of the open window, says "Enjoy your meal.", and continued on her way to the other girls. I notice the bag doesn't feel heavy enough for 2 burgers and fries, so look at the ticket. It's not our order, so I handed it to my husband to check with the lane b lady. He rolls down his window and asks her if it's hers and reads off the ticket. She says it is then mentions she's from Mississippi driving through and has never had such bad service at a Whataburger before. I tell her we are here on business from Texas and she joked saying we should be highly offended then. She thanks us for her food and I laugh and say, "Enjoy your meal!" She laughs and drives off... again, we wait. Blonde girl finally walks back leisurely, notices us still sitting there and gets a puzzled look on her face. I tell her she gave us lane b lady's order, so we gave it to her and we're still waiting... mind you, this whole time, the line behind us has piled up to about 5 cars that I could see in my rearview mirror (I couldn't see the cars around the corner of the building), and people are honking in line. She said she was sorry and went inside. And we wait. Cars are still honking. Finally, a young guy comes out, asks if we had the order on the ticket. It was ours, thank the Lord, and we left, but not before one of the honkers finally pulled into lane b and darted around us, shaking her head. We got there and ordered at 9:45pm on a weekday evening and drove away close to 10:30pm... and I still didn't get my spicy ketchup. read more

Was not impressed I saw a food critic give Whataburger the best review for a burger and since BK has been very poor lately i decided to try it. They came to my window after 18 minutes apologize for the delay and tried to give me the wrong order. At 32 minutes they came back with my order i specifically asked for ketchup for my fries twice but none. The burger was ok but if i ask for a whopper at BK with extra mustard and ketchup they fix it fresh and it is the best. The fries were not that good but neithrr is BK. I am writing this review with a heavy heart because I am a Texas boy and Whataburger is my church. Driving from my home in Gulf Shores to visit friends in Huntsville exit 205 is a great place to stop and fuel up. Took a right to Whataburger and the nightmare began. The place was packed..I mean 1 empty table but for the night before Thanksgiving this wasn't surprising. We went in, ordered, sat down. There was a group of 3-4 men standing around waiting for to-go orders. After a few minutes one of them says...I feel like I should have warned ya'll but I've been here for 30 minutes. WAITING FOR HIS ORDER. Another chimes in 45 minutes. We look around...very few are eating. People come, are warned and leave....others are getting refunds after 30 minute waits. The staff says nothing...no explanation, no reasons just bringing out trays of food calling numbers for wrong orders or for people that had simply given up and left. I ordered a Patty Melt combo, Whatacatch combo and a burger at 6:59. My food arrived at 7:44. IT WAS COLD. I want that hour of my life back. CONTACTING WB Corporation. My order was completely wrong. I ordered the bacon and cheese Whataburger with no tomatoes, no onions, and sub mayo for mustard. My Oder was right on the receipt, but what I got was far from what I ordered. The burger in the bag did not have bacon or cheese, but it did have mustard, tomatoes, and onions.
