Ok, today they really did it. I know there's times where you guys are busy and understand why it might take a while. But today they really got me upset. I ordered in advanced on the mobile app still driving towards Forney from Mesquite. I was passing the Whataburger by quick trip, gas station around 3:57a.m. I get there and wait patiently in front of the counter. I wait wait wait wait and wait I try being patiently but wait and wait and no one greets me or says hi how you doing have you been helped or you have a mobile order. Nothing! It wasn't even busy maybe just one car and that was it. There were 4 employees and neither of them said hi or at least told the employee that handles the front as a cashier to greet me or check on me see what I want it or if I've been helped. Instead, I was standing in front of the counter, literally with my hands on the counter just standing up like an idiot!‍ Finally one of them comes up to me and tells me if I ordered some thing I told her I ordered on the app and got my order at the same time. It was already 4:23a.m. I'm telling you I tried my best to be nice to them and hold back and I got upset But today was unacceptable. Had to update my review. Don't know if it was the Whataburger sale or just the change in mgmt, but this place is in serious trouble. Went in and 10 - 12 people seated and 4 standing in dining area and no one has food. Didn't take long to figure out why. One customer waited for fries and onion rings and 2 drinks for over 20 minutes. Others were waiting for over 20 minutes and still nothing; no food and no help so they got a refund. Customer service should be at the center of everything, especially in a business where you have so much competition around you. For example, when I asked about an item, I was met with an attitude and a response like, "Can't you see what's on the screen?" That kind of interaction pushes customers away instead of making them feel valued. What's disappointing is that there are competitors nearby -- like Chick-fil-A -- where employees are consistently friendly, patient, smiling, and genuinely happy to help. That level of service is a huge reason why people keep coming back. Customers remember how they are treated. I even called to provide feedback to the manager, and while she mentioned that the employee was "not a bad person," my concern is not about someone being a bad person. It's about hiring and developing people who naturally want to serve customers and represent the brand well. A business can slowly damage its own reputation when customers repeatedly leave feeling frustrated or unwelcome. That is what makes this so disheartening. I've left disappointed multiple times thinking I wouldn't come back, yet each experience has been the same. Whataburger food, if they get it right, is mediocre at best. Here's how it went: I ordered the Jalapeño burger meal and it was correct. I ordered a plain burger meal and it was correct. Here's where it got stupid. I ordered a child's burger, plain, mayo only and a small shake. When I got the receipt I noticed that she had added cheese to the child's burger. She assured me that she'd fix it. As it happened, she charged me for the full child's meal which I did not want. She charged me for an additional large shake which I did not order and they made no attempt to provide. The child's burger arrived, SURPRISE! I waited 20 minutes for a jr cheeseburger. Got my food at the window and the wrapper had mustard smeared all over the outside and it was missing the cheese. I took it inside to get my cheese and a clean wrapper and they threw it in the garbage and yelled in the back for them to make a whole new burger. I did not have another 20 minutes to wait as the first wait was about to have me late for work. I left with no food and no refund. I basically paid them $5.09 to waste 30 minutes of my time. I had a very disappointing experience at Whataburger. After waiting 40 minutes in the drive-thru for a single combo meal (a hamburger and onion rings), I expected at least some level of customer service or concern about the delay. Instead, when I asked how much longer it would be after paying and waiting another 10 minutes, I was told they were "about to drop my onion rings." What made the situation worse was that the staff member laughed at the fact that I had been sitting there waiting. The lack of urgency and care from the staff was frustrating. A simple acknowledgment or apology for the wait would have gone a long way. Instead, I felt like my time wasn't valued. I understand that things can get busy, but 40 minutes for one combo meal, with no concern from the staff, is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this place has gone down hill over the past couple years. You could blame it on the pandemic but we're past that now. There were plenty of employees, even two managers working. With that you would expect the experience to be better. And I'm a Whataburger fan. This location is historically slow and orders are frequently inaccurate. You may expect that in a drive through but I ordered at the counter. I don't put a lot of expectations on fast food places because it's usually kids working but the job isn't rocket science. The registers are practically fisher price simple. If you don't know how to input something ask someone who knows. It appeared the person taking the order was too eager to get back to the conversation with the other five employees and taking the order was a distraction. Mind you this was at 7:30pm and there was only two other customers in the restaurant. It took a full ten minutes to get the order. Of course the order was wrong. I would like to think that an aptitude test would not be necessary to operate a cash register or throw a burger on a flat top but maybe now it is. I fear this generation has not been given the tools or motivation to do well. I really hope this store improves. I'd hate to see In'n'Out come to town and get the upper hand. read more

I typically love a good burger from Whataburger, however I'm not a fan of this location! Every time I give this place a try after work, I'm disappointed! The service is slow, food is served cold and salty, the teenage employees playing and joking inside the restaurant, food orders are incorrect, poor attitudes and lack of professionalism...terrible service! Tonight, I stepped inside and ordered food to go. I knew it would be at a 10 to 15 minute wait and was prepared for the wait. However it took longer. After 50 minutes, i asked the expediter when was my food was going to be ready as this was very wrong. He look at me as though i was speaking a foreign language to him. Turn around, and another employee told him he had already prepare my order along time ago. Then the little guy started looking for my ticket. He found it turned upside down. He did not say anything to me, so asked for a refund as I did not have another hour to wait for food I may or may not get. He kept ignoring me and finally I said keep food as you don't want to knowledge me. Gave back my number and left. This Whataburger owes me $13.72. However, I will NEVER go back and WILL NEVER recommend them to anyone that ask. They should be a shame of hiring this guy along with his awful customer service skills. This is one of the worst locations of Whataburger I've been to. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because my food is always fresh. The night crew mainly is rude and have major attitudes. I'm always missing something in my order even when I ask if it's in the bag and they tell me yes. The drive thru takes FOREVER so don't plan on being quick. I'll sit in the drive thru for about 30 minutes on average, just for them not to have my order correct. This location needs a serious change. read more

You can visit the location in Terrell and make it back to your house in Forney way faster than if you visit the Forney Hwy 80 location. I've just had it with this Whataburger location. I Love Whataburger (best in my opinion) however this location is a disaster. GM/MOD have high school kids working here that clearly do not want to be there. On their phones, goofing around, taking to friends etc. Manager on duty the evening of Saturday June 3rd has zero control over these kids, they don't respect her. App order that was to be ready between 7:1917:22pm was not and did not get it until 8:04pm. Can't believe I spent almost an hour waiting for my food when others were walking or driving right up and getting theirs within 10-15 minutes. Place wasn't even that busy to begin with so why the delay?! Manager has no clue what she is doing and let's those kids run all over her. Listen, if you don't like your job, find another or don't work at all. Finally after almost an hour, order was ready and they still managed to hand me an incomplete order, missing 2 fries... ridiculous. I get it if you're super busy and short staffed but that wasn't the case. Plenty of employees in the back and not many customers yet they still can't get it together. We didn't even get our order, we were in drive through ordered 3 burgers and 3 fries. We waited in the drivethrough for 19 mins before it even moved after we ordered at the speaker. There still 3 cars in front of us and we had an appointment in 20 mins to get to, so we left. Sorry but pretty much 20 mins stagnant in a drive through is BS. If we would've even waited in the drive through to attempt to get the food we ordered it would have totaled at least 30-40 mins of time and burning gas. read more

Usually whataburger does not disappoint but today it was the worst experience I have had. The line was long in the drive-thru so I went inside. I waited 35 minutes for my food just for it to be cold. My burger barely had sauce on it. They said they were out of ice and I couldn't originally get what I wanted because they were also out of any type of fried chicken. The sad thing is, multiple people were waiting 35-45 minutes in what is supposed to be "fast food" and the register lady was rude about it when handing off the food to people. I have been to this location before and it was better the first time. During this visit, the employees were running and playing around inside the restaurant. They were also on their phones making TicTok videos. There should be better management in the restaurant. It took about 15 min to get my order and once I got it and got home the food was cold (I live 5 miles from the restaurant). My chicken patty was burned and the fries were cold and hard. The 2 burgers I ordered had nothing I asked for and were just made. Again better management is needed for the night shift. Went thru the drive thru this morning had great customer service from start to finish. I had ordered two Bobs sausage well done one without egg, and then another made it a combo. This was the first fast food joint I went to when I came back from Taiwan. This location has great service, it's clean, and the food is always HOT when you receive it. The fries are always slightly salted and I love that! I prefer to go inside because I feel like the service is better than the window. read more
