Five stars for a fast food restaurant? I know but I've been here at least five times since moving to this side of town & I can say they've been consistent. I'm not sure if it's just their policy here or if I happen to always be here at the right time, but every order has been FRESH out of the grease hot and well seasoned. My go to are their chicken tender baskets w/a side of country gravy. Sometimes I'll even get the kids meal and add a dipped cone to it, which is also always good. I've only ever ordered to go so I can't speak to the ambiance or level of tidiness indoors, but based on the level of service I've continued to receive I can't imagine it'd be bad. read more

This location is pretty good. The food is par for DQ. The Blizzards are always awesome. However, this store doesn't carry everything the DQ chain offers. Many times I've come in asking for something I saw advertised on TV only to discover they don't carry it at this one. They just recently stopped carrying the smoothies and Orange Julius products. What a disappointment. I suppose I will be visiting the DQ in Terrell now. read more

The DQ in Forney doesn't get it right all the time but when they do it's all thumbs up!

I went here because I was craving for a heath blizzard and was off the rode. The good news is they are building a new dairy queen right next door as this place is old and out dated. However, this place is very popular and you can see the cars line up. The place also is dirty as the table needs to be wipped up. I got my blizzard within 5 minutes, but it was not what I expected from my child hood as it was very melted and not frozen. I will come back when the new Dairy Queen is opened. read more

Their work hours are set and on Saturday they close at 11pm. I don't know what is up but when you get there 15 minutes to close and they have a driveway full of customers when 11 o'clock hits they don't even have the decency to tell you we're closed they just close and Leave the vehicles waiting to place their orders. Another time we stood in line and ordered. Waited about 10 minutes and they tell us at the window that they are out of ice cream. What?!? I don't know why we continue to try to give them business. I know they want to go home but honor your customers who are there before 11pm. It's not our fault you're slow and can't manage your 2 driveways. read more

About a year ago our old Forney DQ was replaced by a shiny new one. I have given it a while, but the service at the new oneis absolutely awful. I just spent 45 minutes in their drive thru to get a Blizzard and a malt. The old one was never this slow. Don't know what they did with the folks from the old store but they need to get them back. We love DQ Burgers, but you blow your lunch break waiting , so we are not visiting as much as we used to and we go over to the Terrel one because the service is better. I can drive to Terrel, get my burger and get home faster than going to Forney and waiting in their drive thru. read more

This dairy queen is very old and outdated but luckily they are building a new one right next door! Be ready to wait at least 30 minutes in the drive through because they are always slow and its always busy. But sometimes when you are craving ice cream on a hot day its worth it! I haven't had DQ in yearssss and I tried it again for the first time last month, since then I've been back at least 5 times. The food is always fresh and amazingggg. I'm sure my husband is tired of me asking to go. The ONLY thing that I'd like to comment on is a manager there. I can't remember her name but she was there the last 2 times I've gone. BOTH times she has been rude to customers AND employees and just had a bad attitude. Now don't get me wrong I understand people having a bad day every now and then but it seems like this is just her. This is the second time I go during covid to find the same girl at the drive thru with her mask down to her chin. As we were about to pay, approaching the window, my husband and I put our masks on. The girl at the drive thru tried to be funny and sarcastically said "looks like you're doing a good job there" and we laugh and ask "with what, our masks?" And she responds "yes". Then I tell her, "looks like you aren't doing a good job with yours" and she tells me she has asthma. I point at my stomach and tell her I'm pregnant, as I'm obviously showing. Then she tells me rudely like a brat " I was pregnant when this (covid) all started." And to top it all off, she sneezed as she was covering one of our blizzards. She immediately shut the window to go wash her hands. Just unbelievable. I love Dairy Queen but this girl at your drive thru has to follow protocol! While on a road trip, we made a quick stop here during the day. Located off a freeway, this exit area was clean and safe during the day. I did notice a lot of lights around this DQ and the neighboring Shell gas station. It must have been a while since I've been to a Dairy Queen, or its just Texas. They serve tacos here! One of the things I miss about living in East Texas is the abundance of Dairy Queens. Growing up, I kind of took them for granted. Living in Dallas, you have to drive a good 20 to 30 miles to find a Dairy Queen, so whenever my wife and I head to East Texas to visit friends or family, we always make a point of stopping at a Dairy Queen to at least get a Blizzard. Last night, coming back from East Texas we stopped at the Forney Dairy Queen for dinner and a treat. The place was packed, but the folks working there handled the rush perfectly. As a kid there were Dairy Queen's every where, now... not so much. I love Dairy Queen food. This one is no exception. I get my DQ fix about 2 or 3 times a month. So why not more? well they are a bit slow, not as clean as the big fast food chains. and you have to make a little extra time when you do decide to go. The drive thru is best for ice cream and blizzards - not so much for hamburgers , seems like speed is a big issue now?. If you want a Belt Buster & Fries, at least for me it's a inside thing. The folks inside are always nice and that makes up for the lack of professional training and consistency the we now seem to take for granted. however I would argue that this is why you go to DQ in the first place. Nice place. Kind of reminds me of the old burger places you see in movies or old towns only because the building is a little older and it seems like people enjoy hanging out on Friday nights after high school football games.
