The worst fast food experience of my life... and I'm 55 years-old! The dining room was FILTHY and none of the sinks worked in the bathrooms. Went here around 9:40 pm on Saturday, there were two drive thru lanes. The first one we were in, two cars were in front of us; the car at the ordering board was just sitting there not ordering / saying anything for like 10 mins, so we decided to go into the other drive thru lane. Mind you, two other cars had ordered and moved to the window from the second lane before we moved over into it. Once we got into the second lane, nothing was said to us at all. Instead, now someone was taking the car sitting in the first lanes order and we sat in the second lane, in silence, for another 10 mins. We ultimately decided to just pull up to the window and tell them our orders and let them know that no one serviced us at all in the second lane. The employee claimed that she was saying "hello" the whole time as if we were ignoring her, but there was literally no sound come from the ordering board speaker at all! After we place our order at the pick up window, we were told to go park on the side of the building where we waited almost 30 mins! We went inside to check on our order status and learned that no one had fixed our order at all??? I see a few reviews about the wait times. I waited at least a month before I decided to try this place. I have had Whataburger before when I visited Texas. It wasn't anything to write about then and it still isn't. But for a decent burger and fries, it's fine. I decided to dine in with my daughter. We both got bacon cheeseburgers, fries, and a vanilla shake. It was more than I could eat, but overall it was okay. Nothing great, nothing bad. The manager was extra nice. I totally forgot his name, but he had a Spanish accent. Thank you for great service. I may return yesterday, but for $30, it may be awhile. read more

Good L-rd! - What a disappointment. Very crowded with an eclectic audience who I all suppose were let down by the performance. Burgers were incredibly greasy and just a let down. I made a special trip to this Gastonia location. The Gal serving the orders to the tables was the best part of my visit. I visited Saturday early evening - 27 December 2025. A Tractor Trailer was blocking a significant amount of the parking - which made things stressful. Vibe inside the restaurant was cheerful, but - I can't help but feel cramped at the entrance where you order from the kiosk. French Fries were an abomination. Food came out quick; I enjoy the Texas Toast Option and the Double Toast is cute. Otherwise - disappointing. D- Grade! I need to mention, the Men's Toilet was flooded and there was a young employee inside the Toilet spaced out and texting on his phone. Dude was standing in the middle taking up space. ***Opening Weekend**** I need to clarify that I'm NOT a newby and I did drive through. So, I may be biased. The line was long but moved. It took about an hr but the food was hot and fresh and tasted great. I got my standard patty melt with onion rings and a Arizona Fuse. It was packed with flavor and so creamy. I liked my food and thought it was worth the wait. I can see they were testing their turn times as you couldn't order till you got upto the windows. I thought it was odd but realized that this ensures your food is fresh and they stay on prep time. Also limits the length of time the food is stilling in queue. read more

The location is very accessible, but it is very busy. The line was shorter than I've seen it since it opened, yet we still waited in line for 20 minutes to get our order. The employees were very friendly and even the mail guard that was standing in the drive-through. The food was average. My granddaughter and I just wanted to try the place out, so we shared a Whataburger sandwich and it didn't taste any better than a Burger King sandwich. The sandwich was not hot and I asked for pickles, ketchup and cheese, but instead, I got onions instead of pickles. I don't know if I'll visit this restaurant again, especially since the sandwich was average and I could get it for a cheaper price at Burger King, which I frequent too. I would like to bring to your attention that my experience at your restaurant was suboptimal. Despite ordering through the app with a stated preparation time of 6 minutes, I ended up waiting a total of 50 minutes for my food. Notably, I was the only customer in the restaurant and drive-thru during this time. At least 7 workers . I sampled the menu since this was my first experience at Whataburger. I tried the whataburger, patty melt and chicken sandwich. I liked the whataburger the best. It had the perfect blend of flavors and deliciousness. So next time I'll just get two burgers a side salad and a drink. The wait was about an hour because of the new opening however there was adequate staff to move the line expeditiously. I went in for a mobile order when it should have been ready and waited for 30 minutes before receiving it. Well, over 30 years in many different locations, states. And though you might have the occasional problem, we have always enjoyed and loved this. As our favorite place to eat burgers.. The management and employees are an absolute disgrace to the Whataburger we know and love in Texas. The service is abominable. I'm in line for a breakfast on a bun, hash browns and iced coffee and have been waiting for almost 30 minutes. They are neither busy inside nor in the drive thru at the moment. A guy ahead of me had been waiting 30 minutes for two biscuits and hash browns. The employees weren't helpful and mocked him when they gave him his food and did not apologize. What a joke. Also, this place is in complete disarray. There is trash all over the dining room floor, and I saw trash when I peaked into the kitchen. For all the folks in Gastonia, NC, I apologize for the horrible customer service and lack thereof. This is not a representation of the true Whataburger. Was excited to finally go to Whataburger in Gastonia last week, November 12 or 13. Ate inside. The young lady cashier was wearing a local high school jacket, very friendly and explained the menu options. Not a long wait. Medium drink was the size of others' large size. Bun the size of a saucer, lots of chopped onions, three tomato slices, some shredded lettuce, mustard and ketchup. Burger was large but thin. Worse, didn't have a grilled taste at all. Tasted like it had been fried in water or left to warm in a hot water tray. Nowhere as good as Culver's. I don't think that is Whataburger's operating procedure. read more
