This was our second visit to this location. Last time, they were super slammed and it took ages to get served and get our order. We were hoping this wouldn't be a repeat of that experience. We ordered at 9:51 and got our food at 10:06. Given that it was all hot and fresh apparently made to order, that wasn't an unreasonable wait. The taquitos were delicious, as always, and the breakfast burger (a burger with bacon, fried egg, and hash browns) was very tasty. Restrooms were clean, although with only one per gender, you might have to wait a bit. The restaurant was clean, and service was courteous. We'd stop here again! read more

I love Whataburger but not the one in Gilmer. Absolutely the slowest service of any food place anywhere. This has been going on for over a year. In drive thru I have waited, with no other cars in line, up to 30 minutes. I have written complaints in but never received anything back. I have talked to others in town and they say the same exact thing. I will never go to this Whataburger again until something changes. read more

Apparently this is what passes for a large Coke at this Whataburger. My son bought this for me at the Gilmer Whataburger, using the drive-thru. From the onset, I want to say, that my family and I are Whataburger fans. We ever pronounce it "Water-burger" because that's how Texan we are. Having said that, I never thought I would ever write a bad review on Whataburger, in any town. Especially in a town so close to me. This one in Gilmer, about 2 hours ago, really disappointed us. My son and his Grandfather, who have been to this store many times in the past, really did not have a good experience at all. I'm going to put things in bullet point format for ease of reading. *Son ordered 3 piece chicken strip dinner, with gravy for dipping. *First issue, no Dr. Pepper, so he had to settle for something else. (This is Texas! How can you run out of Dr. Pepper?) *After ordering, they waited for over 20 minutes for my son's food. When my son mentioned to the crew member that he had been waiting for 20 minutes for his food, the response he got was, "We ran out of chicken, gravy, and french fries, and that they were making them fresh." All the while that he is listening to this, he is watching drive-thru customers getting their orders. Again, this happened over the course of 20 minutes. *When he eventually got his food, everything was cold, except the fries. So either they only ran out of fries, or they were not telling the truth when they said they were out of other items, and actually left my son's chicken to sit getting cold for over 20 minutes, along with the gravy and Texas Toast. I'm thinking the latter is most likely. I do not think a week goes by that we do not goto Whataburger, but I am really not inclined to visit this one anytime soon. The service, and poor operations give one for second thought. I would highly recommend that if you want Whataburger, and are in the Upshur/Camp County area, make the trip to Longview or someplace else. read more

Went for a late-ish dinner. I ordered online. When I got there they told me they were out of the large onion rings I ordered and would fries be OK. I tried to explain that no they'd not be allright as they were cheaper and I don't eat fries because I'm diabetic. Then the manager comes up and says we'll give you twice the fries. And as I tried to explain to her she turns away, and some lil boy comes over and dumpsy bag on thd counter with 2 orders of fries in it. I pull out the fries once again trying to explain I'm diabetic as HE walks off. I took frys out of my bag and put them on ghe counter and had to yell that they hadn't given me a cup for my drink. Lil boy comes back with cup, drops it on counter and says something rude as he walks away. By then I was justifiably angry and said a few insults myself as I left. read more

As soon as me and my boyfriend walked in, the employees acknowledged us, but didn't say anything. The cashier that's supposed to take our order didn't, so she sent a guy that didn't know what he was doing to take our order... then the same girl came back and ended up taking our order... (like she should've done in the beginning)... Of course my order was wrong. Not only that, but the whole building itself is disgusting. Greasy finger prints everywhere. I don't think they wipe anything down that us people use daily. I do not recommend coming here because their employees are super rude and they don't serve good food quality! Not to mention they were cursing very loud. Call me high maintenance, but everyone should treat people how you want to be treated... I just hope one day they find some class and dignity that they're obviously missing. read more

I like Whataburger, but they are really pricey. Good parking. Only one bathroom per sex, but usually clean.

The service here sucks. The people are rude; even the "team leaders." I witnessed a black lady in the back touch ALL the chicken strips with her BARE hands and then got mad at me when I confronted her. I witnessed an employee smoke marijuana in his car IN the business parking lot and then go back to work like it was nothing. Whataburger is my favorite fast food, along with many other Texans like me, but this place just needs new management and employees. Honestly I would rate this place one star if I could everytime I go here they mess my order up and the fries are either hard as a rock or really soggy I pay my good money to eat this food and the least they could do is get my order right I just know I won't be buying from here again but if you like getting the wrong order and soggy fries you would love this place! read more

This Whataburger is very nice and clean. Great staff. Usually go through the drive through. They always get the order correct which is not the norm at many fast food joints. ( although it should not be that difficult...). Burgers are the best in Gilmer. read more

My husband and I stopped by about 12:00 A.M. and was greeted promptly at the speaker. But when we got to the window we sat there for about 15 minutes without being acknowledged. The whole time a gentleman was mopping at the window. After about 20 minutes he greeted us. No apologies or anything. While I'm glad our food was cooked fresh, (I hope) a friendly, "Hello it will be just a minute." Would have been nice. read more

Their food is very good don't get me wrong, but their service is horrible. I had 3 cars sitting in front of me and it took me a half hour to get to the window and when I did get there they had our order wrong! read more

Great fresh food that's always worth the wait. Other burger and breakfast places in town just don't compare to Whataburger's quality!
