I almost don't know what to say. Our expectations for this place were so overblown--recommended by a friend whose food knowledge is now questionable. While I wish immediately to have some good things to say, I am shocked by the massive perception of reviewers that quantity is everything. The burgers are massive, indeed; we were unable to finish the smallest version. On the good side, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the meat patty was large, of good quality and hand formed. The vegetables on the burger were fine, but the condiments were slathered on so excessively that the veggies slid off onto the plate. When a meat patty is this large, it is impossible to grill it in such a way that it can form the crust needed (the Maillard effect). The breathtaking misdeed, however, was to serve frozen onion rings that were, basically, inedible. I do wish them well, and I would encourage reviewers to consider aspects of a restaurant beyond the size of servings. read more

Go to Bubba's for the quintessential burger experience. For me, I can't eat the larger Bubba's burger so I order Mrs. Willie's burger. Despite choosing a smaller sandwich I still cannot eat all of it. The texture of the crispy, shredded lettuce with the freshly made beef patty and all the good condiments makes for a filling, mouthwatering experience. I've had better barbecue from 7-11. Paid $11 for a chopped beef sandwich. Came without pickles, onions or other embellishments. $4 for a scoop of Sysco potato salad. Meat was flavor-fee, didn't fill the bun space. Sauce on the side was from a jar. Only one cook, and one poor woman taking orders and waiting tables during lunch rush. Great staff, everything was made fine for my order. However, I noticed the food tray for someone's table was sitting on the pickup bar for 10-15 minutes. So it was obvious that the food was turning cold. The bathroom was broken, and water was coming out of the bathroom and into the hallway. My friend's mash potatoes were cold. It's made from scratch so worth the wait to get however they where understaffed and unfortunately we only got 1/2 our food We had to leave and just get a refund on what we didn't get because my husband was starving and the wait to get the food we did get was long enough (his food didn't come ) I woken come back because the staff was nice and the food really good. Let me start on a positive note: the food here is wonderful! Southern comfort food that really hits home. I loved the corn fritters - best I have had in ages. The chicken fried chicken was a must, especially with that gravy! While I found the food perfect, I'm afraid there were a few things that led me to knock my review from 5 to 3 stars. First, the service was understaffed and therefore inattentive. There was no silverware or napkins, and it took awhile for us to be able to ask for some as the staff was overwhelmed. Additionally, they allowed us to place and pay for our entire order before realizing that they were out of half of the things we had ordered. This led to us having to re-order, and the reordered food took over 30 minutes to arrive. We also did not get our rolls, which was disappointing. It's sad, as this food is WAY too good to be hindered by the service. They were nice and friendly, though! I would say this place is definitely worth a try, IF they are staffed and that staff is trained accordingly! read more

I ordered beef brisket, with cabbage and greens as sides. The brisket had good flavor, unique to be sure but still good. The brisket was chewy, almost like it was parboiled. If i did not know I ordered brisket, i would not have known what i was eating. The greens were flavorful. The cabbage steamed but still lots of crunch.
