Super slow service! Mediocre food. Native Texans love this place, it's more of a try it once and never again place.

This Whataburger is conveniently located on the southwest intersection of I-35 in Hillsboro, a highly charged travel corridor so it's easy to find and parking is abundant and well designed to capitalize on this traffic. But that's where the excitement ends. Pulling up to the drive through there was no one to take the order. After waiting patiently, I eased up curiously to the first of two drive up windows which are very darkly tinted. No one came to the window making me think they might be closed since it was a Sunday afternoon and there were only about 3 cars behind the restaurant. Looking closer into the window I faintly detected a worker who did not come to the window. About to give up I pulled up to the second window where a young teenage girl asked us what we ordered. I patiently explained we had not yet ordered. She said ok, closed the window came back promptly and said she'd take our orders and warmly assured us the order would be out quickly. Waiting about 7 minutes a different worker asked us nervously if we had received our "straws" yet. Smiling, I said no and he gratifyingly handed us two straws & shut the window. He came back a couple of minutes later. By now the car line was full. He confirmed our order, handed us our food and asked if we wanted napkins. I said sure. He thanked us and we were on our way. 15 minutes down the interstate it donned on me they never charged us. What a kind gesture. read more

I've been to this Whataburger a millions times it seems like and have rarely had a mistake on my order. Tonight, we had to order via drive thru due to covid19, so my daughter accidentally dropped her at grilled chicken fillet on the floorboard. I went around drive they to ask if they offered courtesy replacements, they kindly said they do. I of course had to show them the other one and throw it out, but they were so nice and I appreciate that. Especially considering it wasn't their fault. This is the most disgusting Whataburger we have ever been to. There were flies on the wall, restroom disgusting, smelled like they hadn't taken the trash out. It was so bad that we left without taking our food (took longer than 25 min for two meals by the time we left). read more

While traveling back home my wife I decided to stop and grab a bite at one of my favorite establishments, we were rudely greeted by a teenage girl who couldn't care less. After asking if they had military discount or first responder discounts, she rudely told me no. We grabbed our drinks, the table we sat at was dirty and still had napkins from the previous customer. (Please note that there was a handful of employees gathered around doing nothing.) I went to the bathroom to poop, and to my surprise there was no toilet paper, there was no paper towels, trash was everywhere toilet topper was missing. Reading the reviews on the way here was super entertaining, I encourage everyone to get a good laugh in while you're already here and reading. I found that most of the negative experiences that people had were during a night shift. Our crew of 11 had no problems at this Whataburger. We stopped inside here for lunch and were all on the same ticket. They got our food out to us in a timely manner and it was still hot. Burgers were satisfying and the fries were crunchy and salty. There were a few flies and the lines were long for the bathroom but overall, it's just as nice as any other Whataburger out there. read more

Ordered a Whatachicken meal dry. It came out with sauce. When I returned it, it came out dry, but the chicken was grilled chicken. At least they got the refund correct. The food comes out much slower to the dine in guests then the drive thru. So I guess, drive through and don't change the order. Lots of other choices for cheap fast food around here. read more

Restaurant was clean spacious. Bathrooms are in decent shape, too. There is only one per sex. So the line can bee backed up for a while. The cashier took my order perfect, large order, and the food prep followed all instructions. Absolutely nothing wrong. The food tasted great. DO NOT GO TO THIS WHATABURGER!! I love Whataburger in general, I have eaten there my whole life. Hell, even when I lived in Mississippi for grad school I would drive 15 miles to the closest one. They are normally obsessed with consistency and quality control. I eat at the one near my apartment in DFW regularly and have never had a problem like this, so don't take this review lightly! This particular Whataburger in Hillsboro needs to make some major changes. Seems like management and the other team members need some additional training. I just ate lunch there today on my way from San Antonio to DFW and it was just one thing after another. After what seemed like a longer than normal amount of time waiting for my food, the manager (Rosa) came out and said "We got a problem. We accidentally gave your card to the person in front of you in the drive-thru." MY DEBIT CARD. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Then she says "but don't worry! She's a regular customer, she's a teacher and works at a school, she wouldn't rob you or nothing. We're gonna call her and ask her to come back." She was not the picture of professionalism, acted like it wasn't a big deal, we know this lady and it was a simple mistake. No ma'am! I sat down inside FUMING while I tried to regain my appetite and opened up what seemed like a cold burger (Whataburger Jr with bacon, cheese, avocado and creamy pepper sauce). The cheese wasn't melted. I told myself to calm down, not that big of a deal. Then I took a bite. There was NO BURGER PATTY in my burger!! Rosa (the manager) brought out my fresh meal a little while later and asked for my receipt so she could refund my money (onto the card that some stranger was driving around with). Luckily she wasn't blowing smoke up my ass and the lady did come back to return my debit card. Not sure a free meal was really enough to make up for that mistake, just the meatless burger they gave me, that I easily could have driven off with. Absolutely terrible experience today. Normally I don't post reviews on fast food but I've been here twice in the last 3 weeks and both times the food was awful! as soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted with a swarm of flies. after we ordered we sat down and when i say there were flies everywhere i mean EVERYWHERE. the we're at least 5 flies on the booth we were on and when i went to the bathroom, the bathroom was filthy. the floors were sticky and not clean at all. when i got my food i opened the bag and my food was poorly wrapped. i'm surprised i didn't find a fly in my food. read more

I waited 20 minutes in the drive thru line for my breakfast, when I finally got up to the window I waited another 10 minutes and then they asked me to pull up to wait again for my food, after waiting about another 15 minutes I finally got my food. On August 4th, it was a Sunday night around 10:30 pm, I encountered the worst ever customer service in my life! I know this is not how you should treat customers because I myself, have worked in the food industry before. This is my first ever yelp review in all my 4 years of having this app. The food is not bad but I just wanted to be treated as a normal human being. Unfortunately, I left my drink on the table next to my family in order to go to the RESTROOM, once I came back, the employees have unfortunately thrown it away. Anyways, I didn't think much of it, therefore, I proceeded to go to the counter to ask for a water cup. HOWEVER, the employees acted as if I wasn't there, and just rudely pretended I was like a literal ghost. I kid you not, I stood there with my cousin for literally 10 minutes but they still pretended to have things to do even though there were no customers in sight. They could have politely say, "Oh I'll be there with you in a second." But no, I guess they were not trained correctly in terms of treating the customers with respect! Therefore, I had no choice but to leave the place with an immense feeling of dehydration and obviously, no water cup. Don't bother with this Whataburger. Worst one I've ever visited. 2 times they messed up my order. Both times I've ordered a triple meat Monterey melt, both times they give me a double. First time I called the manager Miguel, he told me "I'll write your name down next time your meal is free." I come in the next time tell the manger on duty "I spoke with Miguel." SO RUDE. first, they got my order wrong TWICE. I got the kids bites, and they didn't put the strips. second time, i went inside (i was kind of frustrated, so I didn't stop to read if I was allowed to go in or not), to ask for my gravy, and the manager just said "ARE YOU BLIND OR SOMETHING?!" because i didn't stay by the door. if i was really mean, i would've said something back, especially after they messed up my order TWICE. they really need to get a new manager. I am a fast food snob. I just do not do it. But when in the passenger seat driving from Austin to Fort Worth and hungry, I grudgingly agreed to go to Whataburger. I was very pleasantly surprised by their menu. I knew what I wanted - a big ole hamburger on wheat bread (with the works but no cheese) and onion rings. I went to order and the cashier tried to tell me I wanted to order a combo meal with onion rings and rang it up but I wanted water then got a bit huffy with me for having to redo the order. Whatever. Then our food came out and I got white bread and cheese. I brought it up to the counter and ate my onion rings while they remade my sandwich. Once they FINALLY got it right, it was DELICIOUS. Seriously, my favorite fast food joint I can even think of. I would even argue it's better than the classic Californian In&Out just for personal taste with the wheat bun and onion rings option. This doesn't let me give it no stars. This is the first Whataburger you can find southbound on 35 as you leave Dallas. There are several going north but none south. This Has to be the nastiest whataburger in the state of Texas. It is poorly run. When we walked in there were easily 20+ people in front of me and one cashier. 10 employees standing around looking to see who was going to have to do some work first. Somewhere one of those people should have been able to cashier. Apparently, there was no manager because the manager should have stepped up to the cash register. The drive-through lines were full to the street, both lanes. All the tables inside had people sitting at them. No employee was out seeing if they could move trash from people or getting some drinks refilled to try to get some of these people moving. The kids meal with a sugar cookie was a cookie that was just crumbles, We ate inside, it was obvious sitting on the tray that it was a crushed mess. Had to go back to the cash register and ask for another cookie. The apples in the kids meal look like they should've been thrown out last week because they were already brown. We ordered a peach milkshake to be substituted and paid up for in the kids meal, the cashier said one peach shake, but it didn't appear on my bill and it never appeared at my table. I don't know if this location is so busy because people have been driving since Dallas trying to find the first one or what the problem is. This is the second time I have been to this location and it was the same way the first time. I would stop anywhere before I would stop at this Whataburger again. The bathrooms have one toilet, not several stalls like most Whataburger locations. They seriously needed to service the ladies room, it was disgusting. read more

With the hillsboro location the best time to go is from 11pm to 7am. The staff at that is always nice and the food is always fresh. With the other two shifts the food is cold and their not as nice and the store is always dirty. My mom went through just the other night and had three meals consisting of burgers and one chicken strip meal. Needless to say the burgers were made wrong none of the were made right. Avoid this particular Whataburger if you can help it. I placed a mobile order while sitting in a booth and it told me my order would be ready in 4-6 minutes. Well - 10 minutes later, I was told by the rudest person they could hire, my order was still being cooked. All I ordered was two small burgers, two fries, two drinks and a small shake. There were tons of people in the drive through and came in that got their order before me. When it was finally ready, a nice young girl brought the food out and was going to make the shake but "Miss Rudey-pants" said she'd make it and disappeared behind a wall. Now, it's terrible, I know, that I was afraid to drink my shake because I knew she spit in it. You could honestly tell she was that type of person!! I tried to blow off her rudeness and told her thank you and she just gave me a crappy half-ass smile and rolled her eyes. Sorry to say that this restaurant lacked human decency. Waiting for my meal, I was let down by a worker with long brown hair, Caucasian and terrible customer service! The Hispanic manager was quite helpful and completely mellow! My usual experience with Whataburger is calm and great service! Would definitely NOT recommended this restaurant!
