Someone told me that the best Whataburgers are found at the DFW airport and the lousier the hotel you find yourself, the more terrible the Whataburger. I have no way of proving this, but my experiences point to this being plausible if not true. We met a cabal of relic merchants also stranded in Dallas with us during the FAA slowdown of flights across the country. We were packed into a van at DFW and dropped off at one of five hotels around this Whataburger. We agreed to meet and eat here because why not. We were too tired to discuss which of the hotel eateries was least likely to give us food poisioning for the next leg of our journey home so burgers and bulls*it were the order of the evening at this 24/7 location. Our food was brought to us by young people with haunted smiles and lost souls. They floated about the place doing their job late in the evening, led by a quiet, severe-looking valkyrie in an orange polo shirt and white ball cap. She silently herded the youngsters into their run of fast food production. The food tasted hollow and false. The empty restaurant like an empty mall stripped of its branding and marquees. Someone noted that the air smelled of accepted punishment, like a prison of the doomed and remorseful. No one was happy. We lost our will to laugh. Our stories lost their edge of excitement in the curdling mists of gray ennui. We five who have gazed into the lustful eyes of demons and heard the bittersweet melodies of the ice mermaids of the North Seas were stripped of the will to carve joy out of our unfortunate and unexpected reunion over meat, cheese, and starches. Was in the area about 3 weeks ago. It was a little after 11pm, thought I'd give this a try as it was close to the airport and hotel. When I got there there was about 4 cars before me in the drive through line. I was waiting in line and 40 minutes passed by and wondered why it took forever. Not sure if short staffed or people took forever to decide in their food or both. By the time it was my time to order, they took it fast. I ordered a whataburger combo. Then paid. Then was told to wait at the side parking number 2 as they were doing hot fries. Waited another 10-15 min. Drive back to my hotel which is about 5 minutes away. The staff who took my order and greeted was nice. Got into my hotel room l, opened up and the fries were kind of warm and tasted stale. The burger was not good. Lack of flavor. Period. That was my first time there and probably my last time unfortunately. read more

This place was good a few months back. I just went there and not only was the person taking my order incredibly rude they got my order wrong! And normally this wouldnt be an issue but they made the biggest issue out of providing me with the large fries i had originally ordered. First time having this place and it wasn't bad. We got to DFW a little after midnight and this was our only choice next to our hotel. The inside was not open at the time, It was drive thru only. We did not have a car because we just Ubered from the airport to the hotel. One of the employees came to the door and told me the only way to get food would be to download the app and place an order. One of my favorite things to do when I visit the mainland is checking out the fast food joints! We don't have sonic, in-n-out, chick-fil-a, etc. So there is a lot that we are missing out on. Came sandwiched between Texas Toast. A great patty, cheese, chipotle sauce, cheese, bacon, avocado and more. (5/5) ~ GRILLED CHICKEN MELT - My drunk friend ordered it for me and messed up my order. I asked for "a Mushroom & Swiss Whataburger AND Grilled Chicken Melt." My drink friend ordered and told the lady I wanted "a Mushroom Swiss Chicken Melt" so she combined the two. Anyway... it was the GCMelt with Mushrooms and Swiss added (I brushed off the 'Shrooms) and honestly it was only of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I love Crispy Chicken but this Grilled Chicken was literally one of the best chicken sandwiches I've EVER had! (5/5) ~ WHATABURGER - So their holy grail. It tasted flamegrilled. I got it once normal, the second time I swapped in mayo instead of mustard. Unfortunately it wasn't what we ordered but it was correct according to what we paid for. They have some tables labeled not to use however social distancing is not enforced. They have spots on the floor however a loud group of about 8 (possibly more or less) showed up and then shortly after another gentleman came in. The people from the larger group were taking up the whole front area and some walked around with their masks on however not covering their face. Shortly after another man showed up and it was just chaos. The staff could barely get through to make drinks or pass through in general. I normally love Whatburger food, but I was seriously disappointed in the food that I had from this location. The bun was seriously squished and there was so much mustard (which I love), that I couldn't taste anything else. Best Whataburger in North or East Texas, hands down! No line, even at peak lunchtime. Shakes got to the table when we did. Food came before we could start on the shakes. And the store manager came around to make sure everything was PERFECT! I've heard so much about this west coast eatery that's family owned and operated! The service was good. Double burger was bigger than the double at Wendy's. If you eat in, they bring your food to your table. Lots of young kids being young working. They all seemed genuinely happy to see you. The cinnamon roll was ginormous.
