Never heard of this place before but I was checking out their menu and it started calling my name. They have a lot of unusual side items which was a draw for me. I definitely want to try out their red beans and rice next time, as well as sample their chicken tenders. For this first visit I got a 2 piece with a biscuit which starts at $3.99. If you want all white meat or a mix of white and dark it's an extra 50 cents which isn't bad. This indicates to me that you're likely to get dark meat if you don't specify. I also noticed if you wanted to choose the chicken, such as all drums, it's an extra $2. The wing I got was kind of scrawny but the breast had a lot of meat and more than made up for it. The skin is definitely extra crispy which was tasty. The biscuit was crispy and had honey baked in the top layer. I'm more of a yeast roll person but if I'm going to do biscuits, this is the way I prefer them. Worth ordering on their own or an extra if you like biscuits. The portion size was large for the price and they also offer family meals. Since the prices were so reasonable I decided to sample a few sides. The mac and cheese was $2.49 (so is the red beans and rice) and it was okay but I would rather try something new than order it again. It was slightly overcooked and had way too much sauce on it for my personal taste. The crispito was $1.89 and I only ordered it because I was curious. I immediately recognized it as it's quite popular for breakfast in New Mexico gas stations. It's rolled up tortilla with cheese and chicken, deep fried. The size was very generous for the price but there wasn't enough chicken in there to order it again. I had several bites in a row without any chicken. The fried corn on a cob is $1.99 and I ordered it because I never heard of such a thing. It's deep fried with a breading, but the breading is really thin so the corn still comes through and it's got a good crunch. I really enjoyed this and would absolutely order this again. In fact, I enjoyed the chicken, biscuit and corn on the cob so much that I didn't care the other two sides were below average. I would definitely return for those items or to try new items and I would absolutely get the corn and biscuits again- yum! Be warned in case you are taking it to go, their napkins are laughable.
