Came here on our way home from a wedding nearby. Had to make sure we visited while we were in TX. It was a solid experience. The burger was nice for the price & honestly competes with the best of them for fast food burgers. Fries remind me of McDonald's - definitely good. I heard that the double whataburger is the right move because it balances all the flavors the perfect amount, and since we got the single, I could see where a 2nd patty would be the right call. We also got a vanilla milkshake & it was delicious. Funny enough we actually ordered a chocolate shake, but instantly regretted it. Then they happened to get our order wrong and gave us vanilla, which we were happy about. It was massive and way more than we thought we were getting. Had to send two different burgers back twice. Once while we were there after we told them twice the correct order at both windows.... They heard it a total of 4 times. One was the order second was at the pay window third was at the window the give the food. Then it was still wrong, walked it in and they fixed that one the my daughter's order was messed up. Mom and I were out shopping at Lowe's and needed a quick snack. I live in California but graduated high school and lived in Texas for some time so I was hankering for a Whataburger fix. The Lindale Whataburger was our oasis in the distance and we chose to go through the drive through. We were, pardon the pun, 'in n out' within 5 to 8 minutes, roughly speaking. I got the the #1 meal with extra veggies and cheese, large fries and a coke. I was driving so I opted to to wait to indulge until we got home, which was about a 20 minutes drive. Finally home, I dig in and it was sooo good. And the ketchup, oh the ketchup. I don't know what they put in the ketchup, I'm assuming sugar, but it is absolutely divine. I am a ketchup fan so I really get excited about Whataburger's ketchup. So good. Anyway, the food was still hot, despite the drive. The burger was exactly what I was hoping for. Extra veggies and mustard, as ordered. Ahhhh, how I've missed you. I live in California, so needless to say another burger joint holds the crown there, which I also adore, but honestly, I prefer Whataburger. I stopped in today and the cashier was very friendly. We let her know we were from Utah and she welcomed us to Texas and told us to enjoy our stay. What's a trip to Texas without a whataburger? I got the jalapeño and cheese burger, and to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed. The burgers are big and it reminds me of Burger King burgers, except they were really heavy handed on the mustard. The meat was juicy but it tasted only alright. There was nothing special about it really...The fries tasted and looked like McDonald's fries in my opinion so I actually found them to be tasty. I am giving a three based solely on service and customer service Three times this week we have ordered different things to go. Three times this week all three orders have been wrong. Nancy has graciously fixed things for us to our satisfaction. We aren't asking for anything extra JUST what was ordered. She did all that and more, treated us with respect, handled our orders and what was messed up like a fabulous customer service person she is. Now when I spoke with Manager Jamie at the sat evening shift. His exact words were, we cannot continue to fix these orders if it happens so many times. My response. They have some of the best food when it comes to hamburgers and live the fries and ketchup is good but I don't see the hype about it. But hey people love it. I also love the breakfast. Lastnight me & my fiancé were craving whataburger so when we got there there was an EXTREMELY RUDE girl taking our order. I understand everyone has bad nights at work but this was just the worst customer service we had ever had... she completely ignored us the whole time was slamming things around when we got to the window & was snatching our debit card & receipt. I counted 5 times in a row of my fiancé saying "Thankyou" & not once was there ever a word out of her mouth. This girl had dirty blonde hair that was curly & honestly I would be ashamed to have this type of behavior coming from a huge fast food chain if I was the manager. Other than the extremely rude girl our food was hot & fresh but we left there second guessing our decision to eat there since her attitude was so negative & we were both just now getting off work so we were tired as well but her attitude made our night even more exhausting. We come to Lindale every month to visit family. My 93 year old father likes the chicken strips and GRAVY, so we make a point to get it for him.
