However, during today's advertised $0.75 burger promotion, it was clear that corporate did not have the proper systems in place to handle the event. By 3:00 p.m., customers were already being told the offer would not be honored. This is disappointing--especially for loyal customers who plan their visit around these promotions and look forward to supporting the brand. At the very least, a courtesy discount (such as 50% off the order) would have been an appropriate gesture to make up for not honoring the advertised deal. This location at Potranco near hwy 211 in the same parking lot as HEB is relatively new. It was clean and not overly busy the day I visited. I was craving taquitos so I ordered ahead online. Ordering online with my phone was simple. Instructions were clear. Upon arrival, An attendant came out to my car within 60 seconds to greet me. The hash browns weren't ready immediately but they were after another minute or so wait. It did not detract from the service experience. It was nice having them hot n fresh. The order was correct and packed carefully, especially the large drinks in the container. I was offered condiments and I was thanked as I was departing. The attendant was great doing all the things you expect of a well-trained Whataburger employee. I wish I'd gotten his name because he deserves recognition for a job well done because, did I mention? Lordt have mercy! Mercy is literally what I'm giving this location with my 1 star. I have never witnessed such slow service. It's practically unbelievable. They always have 20+ people (kids) working (standing around laughing and talking) not really working to be honest. The food is always thrown together, barely hot. I come here consistently and the food is never right. If you're in the mood for cold, old french fries thrown about your bag and want to wait an hour for them, by all means please run and frequent this place! Opening on March 24th, 2022, this nearest Whataburger of ours is what we needed to cure our chicken and burger cravings anytime of the day and breakfast craving on the run for mornings! This Whataburger is in my belief the 2nd modern Whataburger to be built in San Antonio, Culebra and Alamo Parkway being the first one. Food has always been excellent at whataburger up until recently. I don't know what it is but it just isn't as fresh as it used to be, and burgers are often prepared sloppy with toppings falling out all over the place. Fries are either burnt or floppy and soggy. The people that work there are usually young and don't seem like they like being there. They don't come across rude just disinterested in making you feel welcome. Went in today and waited for 15 minutes while cars who arrived after me were served. Got so fed up with it that I went inside and still had to wait while they found my food. I've had nothing but problems since this store opened with them. Average wait time is at least 5 to 10 minutes but I've spent upwards of 25 minutes in the drive in when I'm the only customer who was in line. Food is inevitably cold and the fries are inedible, the counter staff is inattentive to the point of rudeness, and any time I bring a complaint to management, they have zero empathy and usually talk to me like it's unreasonable for me to be unhappy with their lack of service. For instance the manager Hunter completely failed to make sure his staff were working as I saw them screwing around for 20 minutes while I waited for food, he didn't apologize for the wait, the inability for his staff to even run my card (the person working the drive through should probably NOT have inch long acrylic nails) and he offered me no explanation or recourse for my frustration at their lack of service. Once I finally made it home the food was cold, fries were hard, drinks were warm. I tried to call their number but after ringing 10 times a robot tells me that there's no one to take my call and hangs up on me, which is a pretty good metaphor for this entire location: No one is there to help you. read more
