We stopped into Laurie's Deli while visiting the area, and it definitely lived up to the hype. There was a big line when we got there, which was a good sign, and it moved pretty quickly. I ordered both the Italian sub and the roast beef sandwich, and both were excellent. Their ordering system could probably be a little smoother, but everyone working there was friendly and the service was still great. The shop is clean and has more of a local feel instead of a big chain sandwich place. The quality of the food really stood out, and I'd absolutely stop again. read more

Decent amount of tables, and small place. Warning there is no wi-fi if that matters. Service is a bit slow as its one person doing everything. With only two people in line it took a while. Meats seems fresh and not bagged like subway. Definitely can taste some of the diff. 3.8/5 - Beef/Turkey/Cheddar on zesty cheese bread - Sandwich was nicely packed and did not come apart at all. Lacking was the lettuce as she only put a small amount compared to all other ingredients. The toasted adds a nice touch and really brings it all together with the melted cheddar. I think a good deli i expect it to differ from your average subway as they are everywhere. I wish there are higher quality meats with better sauces instead other generic ones. This place just seems slightly better than subway with a home-y feel. If they differ much more and separate themselves from that style i feel it will really be top notch. I ordered two 12-inch subs today, one Italian and one turkey. I ordered double meat on the turkey, and while she was making it, I reminded her that I had asked for double meat. She told me that what she had put on it was double meat and that it was measured out, but it didn't even look like a regular portion of meat, let alone double for $4.50 more. The Italian was just as disappointing. It literally had one very thin layer each of ham, salami, and pepperoni. For almost $12 for a 12-inch sub, I expected a much better portion of meat. When I asked for pickles, she actually counted them out as she put them on the sandwich, which really added to the feeling that everything was being portioned as sparingly as possible. The bread itself had a good flavor, but unfortunately that was pretty much all you could taste because there was so little meat on either sandwich. I don't expect a sub to be overflowing, but I do expect a reasonable amount of meat for the price, and when I pay extra for double meat, I expect to be able to see and taste the difference. read more

We stopped for sandwiches to-go while on a road trip based on good reviews. It is a glorified Subway. The staff, perhaps is new, aren't good listeners and were being directed by who we assumed was a manager. Based on rave reviews about the potato salad, we got a container. What a great find. We were making a family trip out to Saint Mary Lake for a picnic while visiting the Glacier National Park and this was conveniently on the way. I'm glad we found this great local spot instead of going with a chain restaurant. Prices are low and they have a great selection with many options. Staff was very friendly and patient with our party of 9. We ordered all of our food and packed them in the cooler. 2 hours or so later once we set up for our picnic the subs were still pretty fresh. Even though they were dressed, none of the sandwiches got very soggy. I got the oven roasted chicken and it was really good, the vegetables were fresh and ripe, the bread held up well and was soft and easy to eat. A great value and quality sub. read more

Laurie's Deli is the real deal! The bread is fresh, soft and fluffy. They slice some of the meat right in front of you when you order so you know it's fresh. We're not sure if that rang up our order wrong because we got two 12" Italian subs with chips, fountain drink and one cookie - total was $16. Unless they rang it up wrong, that was a steal! This was just what we needed! Delicious sandwiches to go as we headed into Glacier. All three of our kids said "best sandwiches ever!"

This place is perfect for picking up food prior to going up to glacier national Park. We ate our food after a hike and it was perfect. My husband and I ate a chicken salad wrap in a tomato and basil wrap and ultimate BLT in a spinach wrap. The restaurant was clean and the staff were all wearing masks and provided hand sanitizer for Covid precautions. The set up is similar to Subway where are you essentially are able to request different items in your sandwich or wrap. The staff was very generous with the portions and even chopped up some of the vegetables that go into the wrap so that the food could be more evenly distributed. The food was very fairly priced and we both were full after both of our wraps. We paid less than $11 for both of our wraps. The staff were very nice and attentive. If you're driving through Columbia Falls and planning to spend the day in glacier national Park and need some food to pack, this is the place to go. It is very conveniently open at 8:30 AM. The folks that say this place is like subway are not all wrong but they are also not all right. The one time I ate there is all one needs to draw a distinction, the bread I had was better and the fresh veg seemed better quality and the meat seemed to be a slight step up. My wife and I are from the East Coast and we were visiting Glacier Park for about a week. We found Laurie's Deli for lunch on our first day in town, and ended up going back 3 different times during our stay. The sandwiches were comparable to any sub shop on the East Coast that we have been to. The bread is baked fresh, the meat sliced right in front of you, and the toppings are all fresh and crisp. Traveling thru the town before 10 am and saw Lauries Deli on the side of the road and quickly decided I needed a sub so whip on the corner of the parking with the RV. When inside the place was nice but mine was to go looked over the menu, asked a couple of questions. Decided on the 12" Italian on cheese and jalapeño bread got what I wanted on it for Condiments paid and off I went very quickly made. Stopped before Glacier to eat and the sandwich had great flavor and everything was fresh. Saved the other 1/2 for dinner once I was outside of Shelby still great. Check them out if your passing thru I hope you'll be as pleased as I was with the 12" Italian Sub Doubt if I'll ever get back to Montana again but if I'm in the area for sure I'm getting another.
