No explanation of what the purpose of the speaker was so we just synced it with our iphone and played music (which the car behind us did the same so it was dueling music). Maybe that was the purpose??? I think the concept of Colorado Railbike Adventures has so much potential and they could do so much more to make the experience unforgettable but unfortunately, there's was nothing that made me want to come back or spread the word to try this experience. The staff was nice and the manager was great at sharing some history of the RR tracks, coal mining town, and history of Erie.

He also took the time to explain all the safety rules to follow and to make sure we had our protective gear on properly as well as to provide us with panchos which came in very handy and bottled water! Meeting them alone was worth the price but we took the scooters and rode to Golden Colorado for dinner at the Sherpa Restaurant after riding up to Buffalo Bill's grave and Lookout Mountain which was beautiful going up and a lot of fun to ride down. All in all I would say David and Jane made our day / evening by renting the scooters to us and with their wonderful personalities and evening! So now every time I visit Denver ScooTours is on the agenda I want to try the Red Rock ride next!!!

Here's a quick tip for you - some seats on the Patio Ride are pedal free. I think about 10 of the…read moreseats actually pedal this thing around and then there are 5 more that are just freeloading seats with no pedals. So, if you want to do this ride, but don't want to pedal push just bring at least 10 other people with you and hop over one of the back wheels or in the way back and voila! you'll be sitting pretty. Here's another tip - the seats closest to the front are the highest so if you have long legs sit up there. If you have short legs sit toward the back. You'll be able to reach better. Here's something that I would have never guessed about the ride - no matter how hard everyone pedals you're never going to breach 5 mph. So don't plan on going too far or getting anywhere fast. But, truly in my mind that's part of the beauty of the ride. Here's something you should know about the owners and drivers - they are awesome. They stay sober for steering as the riders get progressively tipsier and tipsier after hitting up one bar after another. Most of these bars are spots where the Patio Ride peeps have set up a deal for a shot and a beer. Just be wary - most of the shots are straight liquor. Luckily most of the stops also have food to fill your tummies. Lastly, think of these drivers like a cab or limo driver and tip them too. How much is up to you, but it's always nice to show your appreciation for the person who stays sober amongst the drinkers so they can "drive" you around town. The Patio Ride is ridiculously fun and I can't even say why. Just that you need to experience it yourself to see. I also hope they get approval soon to be allowed to drink on board because I don't know if I'd ever stop my bike ride if I could pedal while sipping on some adult libation. They have the ability to play your iPod or they'll play their own and I believe they do rides with specific DJs on board if you want a real party ride. I believe the hourly rental rate is $160/hour Sun - Thurs and $180 Fri- Sat for the whole bike, but when you break it out over 15 people it's something like $12/hour per person which is a steal. They also sell individual seats for $15/person per hour for certain rides. And that my friends is my 1200th review.

You honestly pedal and pedal and pedal your heart out and it goes nowhere. Music is blasting and it's usually something cheesy playing but you can't help but sing along ("Take on me", "It's my life", etc.) We hit up about 4 bars total: matchbox, Breckenridge brewery, gin mill, and retro room. We had PLENTY of time at each bar. We had a chance to try the beers (most of them were $5 for a beer AND a shot or $3 shots) AND order food during that time. Our tour guide Nick spoke with EVERYONE on the tour, totally friendly, knowledgeable, and was always offering to take our photo. It went by so fast!! I wish we had a longer tour (We had the groupon 2 hour time slot on a Saturday) to try more bars but it was fun and totally worth the price!

I was in Denver for only a few days and hadn't been there before. I didn't want to go with…read morestrangers (espeically during COVID), so I booked a private (luxury SUV with snacks/lunch) tour with Devon to Rocky Mountain National Park on September 28. Devon is such a wonderful tour guide; incredibly accommodating and professional. He was really informative about the area. Stopped to let me get a close look at elk and even a moose. We had a lovely lunch at a cafe at the top of the mountains. I loved the weather, it was 80 when we left, then it rained, then it hailed, then it snowed! On the way back, Devon casually tosses out, "Do you like pie?" WHO doesn't like pie?! He stopped at a little place he knows where a woman in her 80's makes homemade pie (Colorado Cherry Company), but unfortunately, it was closed (so whe had to stop for ice cream further down the road). Devon and I talked throughout the entire tour (which was about 7 hours) about books and our love for animals and nature and our lives; as we drove through some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere. It was one of those few days in my life that I will remember and cherish; when you have a great connection with both nature and with another kindred spirit.

The price was excellent for a three-hour tour. We were originally scheduled for a tour a few days later but rain was in the forecast so Tom let me and my husband switch to an earlier day. It was almost 100° out the day we had our tour, so we appreciated the frequent stops to make sure we were drinking enough water and staying hydrated. He brought a ton of water for each of us and was constantly asking if we needed more water. He also brought sunscreen. With all of our frequent stops our tour ran almost an hour late. That wasn't a problem because we didn't have anything else scheduled afterward, but we were starving because our tour started at 10:00 and ended at 2:00. I would rather have started the tour at 9:00 instead so we could have finished earlier. But I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Denver area. It really helped us to get to know the city better and find our way around.

However there were some pretty severe technical issues with the bike itself: the gearing was WAY off leading to some people having all the resistance and others barely being able to do anything. This meant we barely moved faster than a brisk walking pace (our friend actually managed to keep up with us during a phone call walking along the sidewalk!). This also fed into a secondary issue where the board above near your knees was a bit too close and, especially with little resistance, it was all to easy to smack into it hurting yourself. Lastly adjusting the seats was a bit difficult. For the amount of money I expected a bit more direction and time but you can only drink so fast. The tours listing 3-4 stops on their site seem ambitious even with a faster vehicle. In two hours we managed to hit two breweries. While we had a good time and the bike made for a fun team experience we could've just as easily have walked the whole thing. I'd home in the future they can make the experience a bit more worth the cost. We saw many of these types of tours in the RINO district where the breweries are closer together and the roads less intimidating/car-filled so that might be a better area for this.

What should have been a fun evening turned into a frightening and unacceptable ordeal because of our assigned driver/guide, Curtis. Despite Pedal Hopper's written policy stating that alcohol is not permitted, Curtis texted me prior to the ride with ways to sneak alcohol on board, and even stopped at a liquor store at the start of the tour to encourage purchases. This disregard for company rules created a dangerous environment from the start. The situation escalated when Curtis verbally berated my husband in front of law enforcement, using profanity and shouting at us. By the end of the ride, Curtis became aggressive, stopping the tour and kicking us off. In the heated exchange that followed, he attempted to strike my husband and instead hit me on the arm. This constitutes physical assault. Afterward, Curtis sent me a string of harassing text messages, which included personal insults and discriminatory remarks. I had to block him because the messages would not stop. I documented all of this with photos and screenshots, which I still have. I reported this incident directly to Pedal Hopper Denver management immediately after, requesting a refund and disciplinary action. To date, I have received no response from the company. No customer should ever be physically assaulted, harassed, or put in danger by an employee of a business. This experience was not just unprofessional--it was deeply disturbing and unsafe. I am pursuing further action outside of this review, but I feel strongly that others should be aware before booking.

SUPER fun activity with friends - we went on one for a friend group birthday celebration and we had a blast and a half. I was yelling and high-fiving strangers and singing along to rock ballads with the best of them. Would HIGHLY recommend this to let out your inner basic ho self. The driver was chill and it's fun that you can control the music and how often you stop, so our group ended up staying on the bike most of the time because of how fun it was. Definitely do this!!!
