To start off, I'm very cynical when it comes to car repairs. The workings of cars are complex and there have been several times where I've felt that mechanics around town have been less than honest. I've been to a bunch of auto shops around Fresno, and Wheel King is the one I trust 100%. I've been coming here for the past few years and they are honest and helpful every time. I've come in several times wanting to get my alignment and suspension checked out; most shops would try to sell me some sort of unneeded repair, but not Wheel King. One time, I came in to get the alignment checked and since the alignment was only slightly off, they fixed it without charging me (they only charged the smaller fee to look at it). I've been a loyal customer ever since. They are also honest about appointment times; I've gone into a handful of other shops with an "appointment" only to be told I'd need to wait three hours for them to even look at my car. It's super common, but Wheel King doesn't pull that kind of stuff; when I call and ask about availability, they tell me straight up whether or not they will be busy and they help me find a time when I can get service when I come in. I also appreciate how straight-forward they are about stuff. If a part is wearing down, they tell me how long I can expect it to last and don't pressure me to try to get everything done right away. The only bummer is that they only do wheels, tires, and suspension. But at least for that stuff, they're as good as it gets. read more

Honest people, and THAT'S how you last in business. A certain general manager at a particular car dealership should take notice if you're reading this from any of your troll accounts! I came in here well-educated on what I wanted- a set of some badass Michelin R17's. In the past, I've always bought cheap tires and wanted to see the difference in buying some of the best. I did research online ahead of time, and found a good deal elsewhere. I talked to my uncle, and he suggested checking this place out with him since he recently bought a few sets of tires from here and liked his experience. Well, like I said, they were fucking honest. They admitted they couldn't match the price I found at a larger chain (they said they bought that same tire only $6 cheaper than the price I was quoted) and told me to jump on those tires immediately. They didn't try to sell me anything else, and admitted he'd personally buy those tires at that price all day in my situation. 4 stars for the blunt and honest truth which I respect all else. Would've been a 5 if he could've matched the price (I gladly would've given Wheel King my business) but it just wouldn't have been possible in this case. I'll continue to check in here in the future, but like ANY investment, make sure you do your homework and walk in already knowing what you're talking about. read more

Our experience started out positive and went down hill quickly. I was called on Wednesday at 11:00 am notifying me that the wheels I had ordered were in and ready to be put on the car. When called back at 2:45 to see if I could come then, I was told they we busy and backed up, which is why he called me earlier in the day. Okay, appointment set for today at 8:00. I arrived at 8:05. They took my car keys and I sat to wait. At 8:28, I was asked if I was off work? Cause he would give me a ride to work, when I said no it was fine I'll wait. He immediately replied that it was going to be at least an hour and half to 2 hours, and he began naming off all these reasons, other appointments, short handed, and he was having to get lug nuts! He was quite agitated and horrible tone with me. Wait what? How are these my Issues? When I pointed out his tone and I asked him not to take it out on me it got worse. He kept telling me he would give me a ride. He could never quite get that it wasn't about the ride. It was his lack of communication about how long it would take and he assured me on the phone when I made the appointment that he would take care of me and we were good to go. You aren't good to go if you don't have lug nuts. Poor planning on your part does not constitute on emergency on mine! read more

So I asked a friend, a long-time local who knows about cars, where to go for a good deal on a set of tires. She said "Go see Wheel King - No matter what they won't screw you." So they quoted me a price I thought was fare compared to what I 'd seen elsewhere and I showed up for the change. When It' time to pay, the guy at the counter says "Y'know, I screwed up on the price. It's actually cheaper than I told you." So he gives me what amounts to a ten percent discount - enough to pay for a nice dinner out and sends me on my way with a handshake. The thing I love about this, is I was already satisfied with the price and would never have known the difference. After about a year and r so of having the rims, I hit a pothole on the fwy and bent one of my rims. Well as my luck would have it they have suspended making my rim. So after days of searching Henry found a rim, but it was all black and not chrome. So he shipped it off to be chromed, the best thing from all of this was instead of letting us drive around on the donut spare. He loaned us a comparable rim until mine arrives. I purchased a set of tires from Wheel King 3 years ago, they offer free rotation and balancing. I called 3 days in advance and asked to bring in my car in on a specific date and time. I was told that it would not be a problem, when I arrived at the predetermined date and time, the salesman was very arrogant and rude. He made me feel as if I was taking up their time. He said they were very busy trying to catch up on other work and that it would take a hour to a hour and a half. I asked why since I called to make a appointment. I also said that I was going to San Francisco the next day, he actually told me it would be best to come in after I returned. The whole purpose of this visit was that it was time for the balancing and rotation and to make sure the tires were in good condition for a road trip. This is not the first time this employee has treated me this way. I will not purchase anymore tires this company. read more

Went in with a tire stem problem on my RV (the day of my 3-day trip) got there at 7:20am and parked across the street....they opened their gates at 7:30am and I thought Id try my luck and call (normal business hours 8am-5)...they picked up the phone...told me to come in... got all my tires equaled out and found the problem with 2 faulty extender stems... These guys are a joke. I was referred here because they were supposedly the best in town at one point to deal with high end stuff. Brought in my car to have tires mounted and balanced. Once they saw that it wasn't an easy Camry or lifted truck, they hemmed and hawed, made excuses and actually tried to send me somewhere else to get the work done. Not having any other options at the moment, I left the car and told them to do their best. After having my car for 4 hours, they finally decided to call me and say they couldn't do it with yet another BS excuse. Thanks for wasting my time. Was greeted rudely with, "Super busy, please call back!" by the person answering the phone, when I called to inquire about a tire order through a third party. I called back and the same person became quite irritated with ME, because HE was unfamiliar with third party orders, and raised his voice as he repeatedly asked me questions that could only be answered by the third party. I ultimately gave up and hung up the phone in defeat after several minutes. After finally consulting with someone the same person called back and said he found the tires, but explained that I should have had more information before calling. When I disagreed he replied, "...either pick up the tires or not. I don't care because they aren't our tires and you aren't our customer." Rude King is what I call this place! read more

I took my car in for an alignment because it was pulling to the right. When I picked it up they told me that all the measures were already within specification, so they didn't need to do anything. They switched the front tires to address a pulling to the right problem, and only charged me $20 to check the alignment. I'm very impressed with their honesty and integrity. I can't believe that Wheel King hasn't been reviewed before. Other than the crazy commercials (come on, they're funny) they are great. I was recommended to go here by a local hotrod shop to get wheels and tires for my 51' Ford truck. I can't remember the name of the guy that helped me (it's been two years and I'm bad with names) but he went all out to make sure they fit exactly the way I wanted. We had to special order because of the spacing on the lugs and the backspacing I wanted. he had me come in three times to check measurements, the first time, after I had the rear end narrowed, and again when he got a wheel and tire combo that we could use as a mach up. In the end it came out fantastic. when spending 3k on something that can't be sent back because it's custom, I want somebody that's gonna go the extra mile to get it perfect. read more
