I brought my car into the Costco Tire Center in Livermore to replace and install all four tire pressure sensors, and I am still blown away by the service I received. Doug is hands-down the most knowledgeable, kind, and patient professional I've ever dealt with in auto service. He took the time to explain the entire issue so I genuinely understood what was going on. On top of that, he offered extra help from multiple angles, making additional fixes around my wheels completely unprompted and without asking for a single extra thing in return. He even insisted on a free double-check of my wheels after 20 miles just to ensure everything was 100% safe and secure. That level of care is almost impossible to find these days. Beyond Doug, the culture in this auto department is top-notch. Everyone on the team had a warm smile, a super friendly attitude, and was eager to share auto care knowledge so I could learn more for the future. The best team in Tri-Valley by far. I've had tires installed and maintained at all 3 locations over many years and cars. I'll continue brining them to Livermore location. Want to give shoutout to Doug who is very knowledgeable, polite and super patient. Last week I brought in my car due to tire deflating every 3-4 weeks. Thank you to the customer rep at Costco tires, I was at Livermore Costco tires at 8:00am waiting in my auto for a tires leak repair. There was a rude customer who arrive about 8:48am waiting at door. Then shop opened at 9:00am and I approach the counter to be helped and rude customer started verbally criticizing me for cutting in front of him. He demanded he be waited on first to rep. Again the rude guy continued and I stood my ground. I informed him his abusive actions were extremely RUDE. The tire attendant allowed me first. Then rep told rude guy I had phoned in the night before (which I did) and spoke to him per my tire problem. Then rude guy shut up. Service at this shop is lacking. In general, if you plan on buying tires from Costco, go into the store and make the deal, especially if you have tires installed from Costco. Otherwise don't bother with the warranty on your tires. Dropped off my vehicle 20 mins early for my appointment, and although they give you a 45 min window when you book the appointment, they took an hour and twenty minutes. When I dropped it off, I asked about the warranty of the old tires, and the response I got was, you need to come in so we can evaluate the tires prior to purchasing new tires. Basically, don't order online. Did they bother to evaluate the old tires? No. Just called me an hour and twenty minutes later and handed me my keys. No paperwork, you know, the kinda that records the mileage for the new warranty. Not sure if it's only this shop, but the service is severely lacking. Whoever the manager is, needs to manage better. Interacting with the personnel here, I get the vibe that they do not care, and do the minimum necessary. I was waiting at the front for the call to pick up my car, and saw customers come it and wait for 10-15 mins, while nobody manned the front desk. I don't know about coming back here for service. I have been coming to Costco tires for years. I've shopped the prices. Can't beat Costco. When they added the appointment site that made it even better. Way to go Costco! Kudos! I just had a slow leak on one of my Costco tires so I had the donut tire put on and took it in to the Livermore shop. They have to order my tire so that will take a few days. And the guy said they can't make an appointment for me to have it installed for 10 more days Not good! So I have to drive around on the donut for 10 days because they can't fit me in?!?!! Unsafe and inconvenient. Other than this latest incident I'm a happy customer. Hopefully they can do better. read more

I don't see what gives with the low rating, I've never had a bad experience here nor has my family. My mom encouraged me to go here for my much-needed new tires because Costco has the best deals. They even have a deal right now where you can get $70 off when you buy a set of tires. Unfortunately they don't carry the tires my Honda needs on hand, but they did order them for me! So if you have an older car, you may need to end up waiting a bit to get your tires. Especially if they're a unique size that Costco is phasing out. I only had to wait a week though! And I came in one hour early for my appointment and they still took my car anyway! I definitely recommend coming in on a weekday before 5, because they aren't very busy and you're guaranteed fast service. They were very honest about the estimated time and informed me that it was just him and another person in the back. It was no big deal since I had to shop for a few items. Halfway through my shopping spree, I got a call from the tire center informing me that I had a lot of tread left so I decided to hold off on changing my tires. He switched positions with another employee, I then asked that employee if he'd like me to wait inside or in the back and he said it was up to me. I needed new tires for my car because two of my tires was really bad. First, I placed an online order and it said it will arrive at Costco within five to ten business days. I got an email a week later saying my tires are ready and now I have to schedule an appointment. I schedule the next available appointment online for the next day at two pm. I arrive earlier than expected and asked the worker named Mitch (?) if it's fine to drop my car off early and he said yeah that's fine. It's eleven thirty am, and I decided to shop around Costco to kill some time and eat at the food court. Finished all that by one pm and still not done. Must be a lot of people getting tires that day. Finally around one forty five, we get a call back saying my car is ready for pick up. Basically took two hours for installation. Originally, I ordered Michelin Pilot Sport All Season, but I exchanged them for Michelin Premier due to the loud sound coming from the pilot sport. Mitch was very helpful and informative. I didn't know anything about the tires and he put the two brand new tires in the rear because it's safer and that I don't fish tail when I drive. I have 2 alright tires in the front. Probably a four on the tread chart... Mitch says it wouldn't be best to rotate them due to the speed rating on the tires and brand I have on the front side. Very helpful and will continue to come back for tires and possibly a tire rotation. I know it takes time, but I wish they were a bit faster with installation. read more

Not happy with their service at all. I walk in with no polite greeting from the staff. I had a 1:00 appointment for a simple tire patch and tire rotation. The worker at the front said it will only be 30-45 minutes, and that they will call me when they are finished. So I decided to walk around Costco to grab a few things and get some lunch. At 2:15, I still have not received a phone call. I walk over the the tire center to find out they haven't even started on my car! With no apology, they then said they will bring it in now to work on it and it will only take a few moments. 45 minutes later my car is finally done. Just wanted to thank Mitch for helping us out the other day! He patiently dedicated a good 30 minutes of his time getting our tire return situated. We bought new tires from Costco Tire Company but were then informed that our other tires were covered by warranty and they wanted to replace them for us. This left us with the option to keep the new Michelin tires we purchased from Costco TC or to return them. We didn't have extra space to keep them so we figured we'd see if there was a chance they could be returned. To be honest we weren't expecting them to take the tires back since they had already been on the car, but Mitch double checked and found out that they could be returned. The scheduling process is a bit tough to navigate because you have to first go to the Costco website to buy tires and have them delivered and then make the appointment. You can't get better than this! We came here around noon on a Saturday. The parking lot is filled with cars. So we thought this service will take at least 2 hours. We decided to check out the Tire center today. As we walked inside the store, they acknowledged us right away. Within no time we ordered and paid for 4 tires to be installed. While waiting, we decided to have lunch at the cafeteria.........We weren't done eating and they were already calling us already saying they are done with servicing our vehicle. We ordered a tire with them and they said they would call us to let us know it arrived. They never did. We tried calling their phone line multiple times to check if they had the tire, no one answered. I went in person to ask about they tire and they said they've had the tire in stock. I asked if I could in that case bring it in the next day for a quick tire change (it's only one tire) and they said that's fine just come in the next day at 9 am and they might have it done before 1 pm. I show up the next day at 9 am and they person tells me that I can't be helped because they are full. The day before they never mentioned anything about first come first serve with very limited spots. They said if I come in I will be helped. So I just wasted two trips to this Costco. He said I can try again tomorrow or make an appointment for NEXT FRIDAY. For a single tire swap. The staff is polite but the actual service is ridiculous and they have no care for your time. Just go to Americas Tire they do a better job, faster too. And they don't tell you to come in a certain time and only to deny you service at that time. read more

The customer service at this location is abysmal. I had an appt on a Monday afternoon. I waited 6 min past my appt to get the car checked in because there were a couple of people in line ahead of me (this was not an issue but will come into play later). Check my car in, and go shopping to kill time. Come out about 1.5 hrs later. Still haven't heard from them so go back to the office and the guy says "they're still working on your car". So I wait for another 30 min on the bench out front, when I get a phone call and the guy says " we don't have the right tires for your car so we couldn't do it". So I walk in the door and ask him why it took 2 hours to realize that they had the wrong tires when I had an appt? His answer was it wasn't 2 hrs, it was 1.5 hrs. I looked at my watch and said "okay an hour 45" and he pulls out my receipt and shows that the car was checked in at 1:06, and says I was actually late for my appt. Wtf? Now I did apparently order the wrong tires online, but my Pacifica was a 2017, and that's what I put in, but it apparently needs the 2018 tires ‍. So I ordered the wrong tires. But #1, this should have been discovered a lot sooner, and #2 the guy didn't have to be such a jerk about it. He could have said something like "I'm sorry, I wish we could have figured this out sooner so you weren't waiting so long for nothing". A little empathy goes a long way. But instead he told me the new tires needed to be ordered, and I had to pay for them in full there and then go stand in the endless return line in the store to get my previous order refunded. He couldn't just apply the cost of those tires to the new order. Also, I couldn't make an appt to have the tires put on now, they "would call me when they come in". I'd already waited a week to get this appt. So I stalk off to the returns line, fully intending to get both sets of tires refunded and never setting door back in Costco tires again. That's when Doug, who I had no encounters with prior to this found me in the line and told me he would get my refund now, and that he would arrange when the tires came in for me to meet with him at a specific time and he would work on them right away. He must have overheard the exchange and saw how upset I was. I actually started crying at his kindness, because it was so unexpected after the terrible service I had received from the guy at the desk. It had been a tough week at home and work, and I was clearly at my emotional limit . I felt so silly, but he was so kind to me. He called me when the tires came in, and I was able to go in first thing this morning and get my tires out right on. Doug is the one bright light here, and the fact that the rest of his coworkers are surly and impersonable makes him stand out that much more. If I could give Doug 5 stars I would. read more

Jay, at the helpdesk, assisted me with the intake of my car and other paperwork. He was extremely courteous, personable, and patient. He answered all my questions and provided me with the best customer service. After the job was done, he gave me useful tips on how to help the tires of my car stay in their best shape with timely rotations, and he also told me about Costco's member incentive policy of fixing a flat tire free of charge, provided the tires were originally installed at Coscto. Worst customer service. Went to fix my flat tire (tire purchased at Costco) at 10 am this morning. One of the rep said it will get completed by 3 pm. However another guy that booked my service said it's an hour wait. I did my shopping and came after an hour to check in and saw my car's work was completed and pulled out by the tire center employee on to the customer parking lot with the tires fixed. I went in to check for readiness, the first guy that told me about the long wait was attending customers. I went in and checked if my work order was complete. He wouldn't even also for the order# etc., and blindly said it will take till 3 pm and asked me to wait for the call. Its 2.38 pm and still waiting for their call. One of the worst service and arrogant behavior I have experienced at Costco..it may be just that individual, but don't feel comfortable to do business any longer. read more

We discovered the sidewall of other tires were damaged by potholes over the winter. Unfortunately I didn't have my wheel lock kit in the car, so needed them to handle the swap the next day. The evening staff did a great job communicating info about my situation and needs to the morning staff. The staff seems overly entitled to the point that I blatantly requested that they tell me they didn't wish to serve me rather than make up excuses as to why they couldn't fix a flat tire. From "not being contractually obligated by the tire company" to perform the service, to lying and telling me that they couldn't fix it because my car had run-flat tires - which it does NOT. I don't understand how this segment of the Costco store is able to continue on with this abysmal level of basic customer service. Customer service wasn't amazing. I had called in for a quote on some tires for my car and given one price point of $295/tire. When I went online, there were about 14 options for my vehicles tires, ranging from $180/tire up to the $295/tire price they had given me over the phone. Once I ordered the tires, had them delivered to the Livermore Costco, all was fine and they were timely and efficient... but feel the phone rep could have maybe given a couple of options or pointed me towards the online option as well - luckily I just figured that out on my own and saved a substantial amount of money. read more

These guys are the most honest tire guys out there. I know many shops that try to up sell you on things you don't need but this is not one of them. I went in trying to get 4 tires (and take advantage of the $70 off Bridgestone) and even ordered and paid for them online. These guys informed me that two of my tires were 80% and definitely did not need replacing, so they sold me two Michelin's instead of the expensive runflats that I ordered. Because I had already paid online, however, it made the refund process rather complex. They spent 30-45 minutes with me running back and forth between the tire center and customer service to get my money refunded. All in all, some of the best service I've ever gotten. I go to the Livermore Costco as my "go to" place for tires. The service is always friendly and professional and the wait times is what can be expected. I only wish Costco would make a waiting room. You can't spend all day shopping in Costco or eating hotdogs. =) read more

This place wasted my time. When i made the appointment, i explained that i had two tires that i needed installed. They told me that was fine. At the time of the appointment, i told the man behind the counter the tires were in the trunk. I paid him and he told me the job would be done in about an hour. An hour later, i get a call. They refuse to install my tires because i didn't purchase them at costco. I came into the tire center today for a tire rotation and was told that the service could not be performed because they want me to buy new tires. I told them my tires are under the warranty and apparently when you have a warranty you have to speak to the manager. When I asked to speak with the manager the women working there spoke very rudely and repeatedly said to come back some other day. How is the tire center running without the manager, I wasted my time driving 30 miles to come get service done just to hear they can't do anything. If the manager is not present, someone has to be there to make these decisions, otherwise customers are wasting their time. Customer service is always the number one priority and Costco Tire Center FAILED to provide that. read more
