I purchased a wheel for my E55 Mercedes Benz. Listed as part number 2114012702. Wheels America shipped part number 2204013502. This was a wheel for a S Class Mercedes. Because I did not know the misfit until after the 30 day return policy, they "Wheels America" gave me the middle finger. Wheels American misclassified their listing and now I have to eat it. $500.00 for a door stop! Customers/Buyers beware! Terrible customer service and shady vibes when attempting to get some service done on my oem and aftermarket wheel sets. When I finally got help from someone, received an inflated price quote... afterwards had a "manager" look over work and quote was hundreds more than previous moron. Then when I decided to have them just repair the oem wheel (as I didnt trust them w/my $6k aftermarket wheels) when they invoiced me, price was different AND was for the wrong wheel, brand and size. When I raised my concern, sales moron got mad (at HIS mistake) and crumpled paper and proceeded to redo invoice. At that point, i asked to talk to someone else and manager moron #2 came out and had similar attitude. Is everyone menstruating or what? A customer behind me commented also and similar feelings about attitude and customer service level. We both began searching on line for other services and another customer waiting on the side, suggested a place in Walnut Creek that he has never had issues with callee Shop Rite or Built Rite something. Anyway, we decided to leave with oem wheel and aftermarket wheel and spend money elsewhere. When calling and emailing their corporate office in Texas, spoke to a nice lady Robyn and let her know the behavior and attitude of the morons in Oakland. Later another person named Monte emailed me back and apologized for the incident and mentioned he felt embarrassed on how the morons behaved. Had recently purchased a brand new vehicle that came with some nice rims. After owning it for about 3 weeks I was parking without paying enough attention and hit my rim on the curb. Got out to inspect it and there was a fairly noticeable 2-3 inch scrape on the lip of the rim. Beings that the car was so new there was no way I could drive around like that. Was intent on purchasing a new one until I was informed there are places that can repair them. Went on Yelp and this was the first place that came up. Had good reviews for the most part so gave it a try and it was a very good decision. Was informed by the guys at the shop they could fix it no problem but due to the type of paint would be an extra $50. At this point I just wanted it fixed and didn't care. Picked up the rim today and they did an absolute great job. I've been looking at the rim for a good 5 minutes and you can absolutely not tell where the damage was at. Was in and out in 3-4 minutes. Only had to keep the rim there overnight. Will definitely be coming back if I have any future issues. Like others have stated the price does seem to escalate once you get to the shop but for me it was a small price to pay for such quality work. Highly recommended. read more

I had two cracked rims that caused me to have to air up my tires every few days, but the last thing I wanted to do is buy new rims. I like my rims and I didn't want to have to drop $1000 on some new ones. I called up Wheels America and asked them how much it would cost to fix the crack and they said $150. So I promptly drove out the next day and dropped 1 rim off, I asked them how much it was to fix the curb rash too and it was included in the $150! The next day they were done, I had a brand new looking rim. I swapped out the spare and other rim and had it done as well. $300 later I had 2 brand new looking rims that hold their air! Took one of my rims in to get looked at, I went to them and in less than 2 minutes he said it was fixable and I left it that same day. Left it over night, didn't have to put any money down. I was recommend to them by my tire guy because I thought I had a flat because of the tire but it was because of the rim. I had gotten it "fixed" at another spot that charged me 500$ for all 4 rims but this one was the one that hit the curb the hardest, I'll post a picture of how it was originally and I'm very pleased with how brand new they left it. Very uncommunicative and unprofessional, told me they could fix my wheels after seeing it in person twice and then called me to say they aren't fixable and to pick them up. Wasted my time, damaged one of the tires while taking out the wheel, they wouldn't put the tires back on the wheel either so I had 4 pieces to pick up and needed to buy another tire. I had my wheels fixed at another shop, so they aren't capable either. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately there are no stars less than one or they would get that. Do not order rims form here or bring them in for work. On a Tuesday I ordered a black rim to match the other 3 on my car via their website. Thank god a took a screenshot of the order because they don't even email you a receipt, order confirmation, or shipping information. On Thursday of the same week I was sent a silver one. I brought the rim in on Friday, and asked to exchange it out for the correct one. Low and behold the one rim that was black sold out. LIE. They never had the black rim and just sent the one rim they had for my car regardless of it being the incorrect color. Since it was the last rim and I was unable to find another one in the country (mine is on a 6 week back order from Germany) I asked if they could paint it to match. I showed them a picture of the very obviously BLACK rims on my car and they said they could do it no problem and that it would be ready on Monday. Went in on Wednesday to pick it up and their painter, whom I can only assume has one of the worst cases of colorblindness known to man, painted it one shade of silver darker. Not even a slate or charcoal, just a medium shade silver. I asked them to fix their mistake and nope, they can only paint them one time because they cut away material in order to do so. SO now I'm left with a f***ed up rim that I can't use. I then requested a refund and was told that since I ordered it through the website I would have to wait until tomorrow to call their main office in Texas because their manager didn't like giving out cash refunds for something that was bought online. What kind of 1986 operation are they running where they can't issue a refund on site? The moron stood there looking at me like we were done until I informed him that I'm not leaving without the money or the rim. He legit thought I was just going to leave without either. He then picked up the rim and started walking to my car. Uh, excuse me? No, I made him bring it back in side and put it back in a back since that was how I brought it. If I have to extend my effort to ship it back because they all royally screwed up they sure as hell were going to box it up for me. Un-f****ing believable. This place is ridiculous. Here's my story; I went to this place to have them refinish a set of Fikse FM10's I had recently purchased. I talked to one of the guys and I was very meticulous on making my points, ie, what I want done with the rims and made sure he understood me. The wheels were three piece and I said they will have to be disassembled in order to be done correctly. I pointed out the issue I wanted taken care of mainly - some "stain" or residue that couldn't be taken care off by hand due to being used for quite a while. I pointed out to the guy that ALL I WANTED WAS TO MAKE THE WHEELS LOOK NEWER and asked him if that could be done. He said yes and that I'll be more than satisfied when I get the wheels back. I pointed out the "stains" on the spokes and windows of the center piece and that I wanted it cleaned out, he said "yes that will be taken care of properly". He gave me a turn around time of 4 days so I checked back after 4 days. I inspected the wheels and saw that they didn't do the "refinishing" correctly. The wheels weren't disassembled, instead they treated them as one-piece wheels, slapped them on the machine, and shaved the entire face part of the wheels! Yes it did make it look newer but the stains were still there! They shaved a fraction of a millimeter off the face and erased the "dimples" and the stamped "Fikse" off the center piece of the wheels. Now I just lost the authenticity of these wheels. I had went to talk to the Manager, I believe his name was Ryan if not Bryan. And he told me that they "DON'T DETAIL WHEELS, THEY REPAIR THEM". I told him that before I turned in the wheels the person I talked to agreed to everything I pointed out during the first hand conversation. He said, "BUT WE DON'T DO WHEEL DETAILING, WE REPAIR THEM, WE"RE NOT A DETAILING COMPANY" I said, "so why did you guys agree on cleaning up the spokes like I wanted to..?" He said that's a mistake and that they didn't agree to it 'cause they don't do that. I said all I want is to have them done correctly and being three piece they have to be disassembled. He asked me to check back after two days they said they'll redo the job. I then came back after 2 days, I saw the wheels and they still didn't try to do anything about the stains on the spoke. I just calmed down and asked for the center piece so I can try my best to get rid of these stains. I spent hours and hours rubbing the stains off by hand before I brought them back for reinstallation 'cause I didn't wanna deal no more hassle. They reassembled the wheels and installed my tires. I said to myself it looked good enough to me since there's noting else I could do anyways. I installed the wheels and one of them was deflating air. I went back to have it redone so they had to keep it 2 more days because it's the seal that was leaking air. When I saw the tire dismounted, I noticed they had applied a big chunk of sealant on the seam without getting rid of the old seal... I was really surprised how these guys do their job... I had to come back another time because apparently another wheel was leaking air... read more

In need of tires before my next blowout, I looked to my standby, tirerack.com, for some sporty tires for my ride. As part of the Tire Rack features, they were able to ship my new tires to a local installer. Being that my current tires were literally ready to burst, I didn't want to drive far. Wheels America was a short distance from my home and the cheapest place to have them installed. You wouldn't think that Wheels America would install tires, since their main business is wheel repair..fixing scraped up, dented, chipped wheels, and restoring them to new. But they get a lot of wheels with tires, which require them to take off the tires in order to fix the wheel. It's a normal occurrence. I put my order in to Tire Rack and had them shipped to Wheels America. Once Wheels America received the tires, I was told to swing by between noon and 3pm when it's not crowded. Ryan and his crew wasted no time in getting me back up and running. They jacked up my car, took my wheels off, removed the old tires, mounted and balanced the new tires, and put back the wheels onto the car in less than an hours time. And all it cost me was $20/tire...for low profile (35 series) tires! They were professional and courteous throughout the whole process. I don't remember the last time I was ever in and out of a shop for wheel/tire installs in less than an hour. I'll definitely let them handle my next change. read more

We use this service for two body shops and the work done by the technicians is always good quality. Here lies the problem: We are charged for the cores on each wheel we send them so we return cores back to them within a few days. Our credit never seems to be issued. I've spoken with the shop and the guys there are as helpful as they can be and directed me to the accounting manager, Eileen, who supposedly handles all the checks that are to go back to the customers. I spoke with her and she assured me that she would look into it and call me back the next day. I didn't hear from her but I gave it some time as this situation has been on-going for quite some time. I finally called her back and left her voice mails over the course of several days. When I did get her she was abrasive stating that she only had a few invoices. I don't know how that is possible that she didn't have access to the activity on accounts that were opened in 2008. She faxed me 6 invoices, that I had already received from the shop, but still did not indicate where our credits had been assigned; no indication that they were paid to us by check or if they were sitting in some account somewhere. I called her back after another week of her delays and she actually was yelling at me. I managed to get her supervisor's name from her. I called "Maggie" and left a message. She returned my call two days later and was much calmer, but still gave attitude when I wanted proof of the cores we have returned and the credits owed to us. Now I'm back to waiting for contact and refunds. read more

My wheels look great after repairing., but I had all 4 done. I agree that the website is very misleading. Be prepared for extra charges to dismount, balance and remount your wheels. Over 200 each...not 139 as it says on the website. (That price is if they just refinish a wheel....not unmount and remount the tire.) They are used to dealing with commercial folks so there are many blindspots in dealing with retail customers. All this aside, I think they do the best job in wheel refinishing. read more

The color match and paint quality is as close to OEM as I've seen. Their powdercoating is amazing as well. I have been coming to Wheels America Hayward for over 3 years now and with having 4 cars and a wife that likes to hit curbs I've given them a lot of business. I found out today when I went to drop off another set of 4 wheels to them in Hayward that they moved to San Leandro. When I called up their new location a rude lady answered the phone. Without even looking at my wheels she explained that their pricing has changed and told me they now charge $170 per wheel. That's great but I didn't even ask her the price. And that's almost double of what I am used to paying in the past. So much for being a loyal customer. I will find somewhere else to fix my wheels. Bought a wheel from them off of eBay to replace one with curb rash. They sent me one that didn't match--color was off a shade--which I didn't notice until it was on the car. They sent another one which did match, but the finish was far from perfect. I returned my old wheel, and they never sent me the check promised for returning it. A little over a year later and the finish has flaked off almost half the wheel they sent me. Far exceeded my expectations. I had my left rear wheel repaired for a curbside rash. Wheel is from a late model Mercedes Benz e class. Since the wheel has a machine polished lip, the fix required the use of a wheel lathe machine. I was told to pick up the wheels 24 hrs after dropping it off at their facility. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. But when I saw the finished product 24 hrs later, I was so impressed. The wheel looked brand new with no trace of having been repaired. Angelo at Wheels of America agreed to pay for my Enterprise rental car after their work caused a delay in my car repair (9/16/16 - 9/19/16). He confirmed this with me, B2 Perfection Auto Body and Thuy Nguyen, the assistant manager at Enterprise in Sunnyvale. Then, he never paid the bill and refused to return calls from Thuy and from me. When Enterprise got stiffed by Wheels of America, they charged me. Needless to say, I am not happy about this. Angelo and the Hayward Wheels of America shop should be ashamed of their dishonest business practices. I would not recommend anyone taking their car for service at this corrupt business! read more

with all the good reviews i've heard about this place, i have to say i was disappointed with my wheel repair. here are some of the reasons why: - I checked their website (http://www.wheelsamerica.com/index.php?page=faq#q1) before I went for prices but when I got there, they quoted me $40 more than the $129 listed on their site. They said the price on their website was for commercial customers... but it doesn't say so on there. - When I picked up my wheel, the invoice showed $50 more than what they quoted. I asked why and they said it was because of the special paint (for my silver wheels). I told them I was quoted $160 and they took off the extra paint charge on the spot. If I hadn't said anything, they would have charged $210 for repairing the one wheel. - When I closely inspected the wheel when I got home and found: 1. there was chipping on the paint near the centercap 2. the color was a much brighter shade of silver than my other wheels 3. they lost my metal valve stem cap and replaced it with a plastic one - I took it back with another wheel for reference to get it repainted and when I picked up the repainted wheel, the color was still off (closer, but still visibly off) and I could still see where the paint had been chipped near the centercap (they just panted over it). If I didn't have another track day to go to two days later, I would have had them re-do it again. But then again, they probably would have been pissed to repaint it twice so maybe I would have kept it anyway. The people there were nice, but I was pretty disappointed with their paint job and it was a drag to have to take time off to drop off and pick up the wheels a second time. I was hoping I could give them 5 stars... but with what I went through, it's 3 at best. read more

I opted to use this place instead of Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara and it was a sure mistake. I talked to Zeek and he was full of lies. He assured me that my anodized lip would be free of swirls and at the end it was filled with them. Not to mention the repair left me with a puny lip compared to the original set of wheels on the car. They did however offered to repair them once again to meet my satisfaction but when I returned they double billed me. Horrible service and shady management. read more

I figured my oem wheels that was perfectly true, no curb rash, lots of clear coat peeling, other than that was fully functional, needed to be refurbished. Searched for a place and found these guys. . After conversing and asking about pricing, I decided to take the plunge and let the wheels get refurbished. .. a week passes and I pick up the finished wheels, I told them no powder coat, it needs to be painted, they said yes no problem, guess what..powder coated, pissed I took the wheels and had it installed back to my car... after a few days I see one of the tires flat... I pump some air and head bk to the tire shop that installed back the tires.... they said, "there is a leak at the rear of the tire... its not seating properly"... I bring back the tires to wheels america and they say its just overspray, we will fix it... we'll short story, I had the same problem with two more wheels... and now they refuse to fix it, and say its not their problem... wheels were bad b4 I dropped them off ... I said, I used that on my car and ur suppose to refurbish them... they refuse to even give my payment back. . I was also a victim of the Wheels America bait and switch technique. As described by the previous reviewer, the $129 flat rate quickly changes to $169. This is still not a bad price, but they should make it clear on the website that $129 is the trade price, and that they also charge for demounting and remounting your tire from the rim. Having said all that, the repair to my scuffed rim is quite satisfactory, and they kept to their 24 hour turnaround time. But the pricing deception leaves a very bad taste. read more

I just picked up my wheel and the job looks good but I'm very dissapointed with their customer service. When I saw their car jack, I asked if they could mount my wheel onto the car and I'd put the spare in the trunk . They said it would be a $20 additional charge. I can clearly see that they do not do anything as courtesy. It only takes 5 minutes to do that. I had a previous wheel repaired in San Francisco and with no additional charge they muonted the fixed wheel to my car as "courtesy". They do not price match with their competitors. read more

My 2015 Kia Optima's front passenger side rim got bent on the back side ... So the air was loosing slowly...Went to couple tire patch shops they found out it's the rim.. Came to these guys yesterday on 1/14/2015... Guy said it's doable... Left my rim yesterday got it back today . And the rim looks perfect ... And the guy who take care of the shop ... The slim white guy with small beard and tattoos was very professional and nice ... Told me if air still leaks in couple days ... Just bring it back . The short little Mexican guy (Juan?) who drives the Toyota Tundra absolutely ruins the image of this company. He is rude and pushy, and always combative, despite the simplicity of the tasks his job entails. I've encountered him this way at a number of company's that I have worked with over the years, not just once. The management at this place does nothing to correct this; they only advise that he's "usually not this way" and apologize. Their wheel repair and refinishing is also mediocre at best. I wish there were other wheel repair companies in the Bay Area to give my business to, because these guys suck. read more
