We arrived in London early in the morning and needed to kill some time before we could get into our Airbnb. This place was around the block from where we going to stay. The staff was very attentive and our food was delicious. We had a side of breakfast sausage and shared an offering for people who didn't want pancakes. It had a polenta corn "pancake" with guacamole, arugula and preserved lemon. Delicious! We also enjoyed a very tasty cappuccino and an American coffee. A small restaurant on a side alleyway with limited seating inside and alfresco seating outside. I'm not even a pancake super fan, but had to try the Royal. It was two slightly sour buttermilk pancakes, streaky bacon, two deep orange colored yolk poached eggs, tarragon, asparagus and I had the Hollandaise on the side. We stopped by as this was quite close to our hotel. It wasn't busy at all, so we got a seat quickly and ordered some drinks. I got a margarita, served with lukewarm with a few pieces of ice. I have to assume it was not made fresh or it was shaken without ice? Either way, simply not how cocktails are served, had to ask twice for more ice. I got the simple cakes plus a breakfast sausage and corn fritter. Sausage was very yum, but pancakes were a bit dry, and not as fluffy as I am used to. Our first (and only) taste of a an "English Breakfast" and it was.....just okay. Definitely better than I expected but still not great. Traditional English Breakfast isn't for me. Cool little spot under the bridge in the Waterloo area. We wanted breakfast at 1 in the afternoon and this is what we found. We were sat quickly but took about 15 minutes to take our order (honestly it was fine cause we needed a couple minutes to review the menu). Once we ordered, food was received in less then 10 mins! We had the royals with bacon. Egg was very good, not runny, bacon was yummy but a bit too salty and pancakes were a bit pasty but still yummy. We had to order a syrup though for an extra 2.50. I heard this place was a great spot for pancakes, so I gave this spot a try. I tried their main "simple" buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. I found the pancakes to be pretty sour and lacking the flavor and texture I enjoy in pancakes. I also had the dark hot chocolate and that was just okay - it was very bitter and didn't really have the rich chocolate flavor I was looking for. If I were to visit again, I would probably try one of their savory pancakes since the sour flavor would pair better with meats and vegetables. I'm sure some people go to other places for breakfast. Those people are WRONG. The food is delicious, and the pancakes are filling without being too big. The variety is lovely and MAJOR bonus points for having nearly every single option available in gluten free. Our waitress was also excellent at checking for allergies and food sensitivities. Indoor/outdoor seating available. Everything tasted fresh and honestly it's a perfect breakfast/ brunch/ lunch spot. I mean, I'd be on board for cocktails and mini pancakes too! Amazing place for pancakes lovers like me ! The place is really busy so I recommend to book in advance to guarantee a seat, especially on Sundays. The menu is not too big and offers several yummy options : savory, sweet, or vegan pancakes. I choose the Boulder breakfast with an extra of poached egg with a ginger turmeric latte. We came here on our first day of vacation in London. This place was 2 minutes walk from our hotel.. and definitely was one of the most memorable meals we had during our visit. From the start when we got greeted at the Entrance the guy was super nice and welcoming! The dish was a bland, flavorless mash-up of mush. It was neither savory nor sweet. It wasn't hot, but it wasn't cold....it just was. The syrup (you have to ask for) made it possible for us to eat this food. I gave this place at least two stars because they were at least open when they said they were, and the cappuccino was good. It took me over an hour to be seated, but I was determined to check this place out. I was not disappointed. It was definitely a different twist from just the plain butter and syrup style of America. I quite enjoyed the mix of flavors on these pancakes. If you're ever in the area and have some time, check this place out. Also I wouldn't recommend going alone as it takes longer to be seated compared to small groups. They have limited seating and I don't think they want to give up a big table for a single. Prior to my trip, I looked up places I'd want to dine at so I could gauge my whereabouts. It just so happened that a group of friends suggested this place one day and I got excited, having had a glance at the menu and pictures. Presentation produced a mouth-watering effect. So when I came here with my friends for brunch, we each started off with a savoury dish; I had the pulled beef pastrami (delicious), two ordered the royal and another, the dutch baby.
