Originally we had ordered the steak, but unfortunately they ran out of it after we ordered. I ended up ordering the sea bass, which was really tasty. We also got calamari and a couple of drinks. For me, the drinks were the standouts. I got the elderflower and bramble spritz which was excellent. They had a kids menu which I appreciated and the kids also got a coloring sheet and crayons. Food here was absolutely delicious! We ordered three meals so we could share one just to try it. The shared meal was the southern friend chicken sandwich which was good well and seasoned perfectly. The place was wonderful decorated for the holidays which was nice to see. The service was some of the best we've had on our many adventures. Went to Bill's for brunch with a few friends and had a pleasant experience. I was able to set up a reservation the night before and they were easily able to accommodate us. The location is nice, right next to Borough Market which I love so it's easy to find. The food was pretty standard. For me the bacon was too greasy so I didn't eat all of it but that comes with the territory sometimes. My friends all enjoyed their meal so I can see myself coming back here if I'm in the area again. read more

3.75 stars. After several visits to London, I finally made it to Bill's, a charming eatery with several locations across the UK known for their breakfast. Interestingly enough, the items that made up Bill's Big Brunch were the ones I liked least; I could find nothing to enjoy between the extra fatty bacon, baked beans with an aftertaste, & potatoes that were as hard as rocks. However, everything else we ordered was fantastic! Brunch was completely salvaged by extremely tasty appetizers, fried halloumi with chilli honey & miso padron peppers, & a soft, pillowy dessert of mini cinnamon donuts with chocolate & dulce de leche sauces. Huge fan of this place! My dad and I were in London for 3 days and stopped here twice. The first time we came for brunch and really enjoyed the English breakfast. While dining, we saw a sign for bottomless pancakes and decided to come back to check that out before our flight out of town. The pancakes were quite heavy, but delicious! Good portions and delicious food for an affordable rate. First tip: order the donuts and coffee. You can sub out the coffee for a pot of tea or go for some hot chocolate (which is what I did). The hot chocolate was amazing and it came with five donuts which were honestly more like beignets. Just make sure you eat them while they're warm with the dulce de leche sauce. The BBQ bourbon burger was also delicious. It came with an infuser which was a nice touch. The rosemary salted fries which came with it finished the meal off perfectly and I was more than full. Bill's is a quirky restaurant featuring typical dinner foods with a twist. Two friends and I came here after visiting the Clink Prison museum, because it was right next door. The menu looked promising so it drew us in. The interior was clean, spacious, and eclectically decorated. For the food, we ordered the Halloumi burger, macaroni and cheese with bacon, and the buttermilk chicken burger. All were very good! The Halloumi burger was unique and flavorful, a refreshing take on a burger. My friend loved the buttermilk fried chicken and the chipotle mayo it came with was really good. The burgers came with rosemary chips (a lot of them!) the Mac and cheese was a little mediocre. I've had many Mac and cheeses and this one was about average. It came with a side salad and bread. The salad dressing was actually pretty tasty! Portion sizes were large and satisfying. I also got a cappuccino and it was large as well. Pretty standard cappuccino. My friend got the triple chocolate brownie and while she loved the brownie, the vanilla ice cream it comes with was weird tasting. Ok - just, fairly pretentious with the waiters professing that they are 'floating around' and 'slowly waking up, so don't rush them'. Not great when you have been waiting 20 mins for a menu to get some breakfast. The food selection is ok but nothing to write home about. I had the scrambled eggs and bacon on toast, with a juice and coffee. All very pretty looking but it is a case of style over substance, the toast was tough, the bacon was chewy and the eggs were tepid. The highlight was the juice and coffee which were excellent. Stumbled upon Bill's after strolling along the South Bank, the menu looked nice so we gave it a try. I'm glad we did, everything was very tasty and reasonably priced for the area. I had the mac n cheese which was filling but delicious, we then split a sticky toffee pud for dessert! Only 4 stars because although the cocktails sounded quite nice there were small and watered down quite a bit by excess ice chips. read more

What's not to like? The four of us stopped in for breakfast and a little while later, four plates practically licked clean. The eggs benedict was outstanding, as was the pancakes with fresh fruit. First time my wife and I tried Bill's was in Eastbourne last summer and it was a lovely experience. Food, atmosphere, people were great and we decided to try it again yesterday evening in London, where we live. The place was absolutely amazing, the food was great but the wine we took (Bill's garnacha rosado) was really a bad choice (I am an italian guy who likes wine) so if you decide to go there, be careful on the wine you choose. read more

I had the grilled halloumi with couscous and my husband the fish and chips. His chips were cold, his fish soggy. My halloumi was ok, but my couscous was just about inedible. Place was packed even at 2pm in the afternoon, and showing no signs of peace at any point. Reaally packed. Staff was super nice and all, we got two kale salads and a plate to share (Mezze) decent for one or two people, maybe even three. Along with Juices (green and carrot). It was promptly served, that s a plus, though the taste was a little meh. It looked good but nothing outstanding here. Mezze plate (butcher one), had spicy kefta, sausages, hummus (good), babaganoush that looked like minced meat and tasted like nothing, ok olives, and chicken skewers with like nothing really fun about it.. Salads were nice though I had not tried them. Decent sizes, but here also, nothing special to remember. I guess this place works because of location, fast service and quite a large menu to choose from. So maybe, maybe, if in the area I will try it again if looking for something but I may consider Nando's (yes) around the corner. Will see. read more

As we visited London, we stumbled across a little restaurant next to the Thames by the millennium bridge. Bill's restaurant provided outstanding service, delicious food and friendly wait staff which were mostly students. We were a walk in and were immediately seated, even though the kitchen was closing in half an hour. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious, which is not common for chain restaurants in the tourist areas. The service and the food was so superior, we came back the following day. As we returned, the manager Gianluca remembered us from the day prior and made us feel very welcome. We are world travelers and eat at many restaurants. If we were to rate Bills' on a scale from 1 to 10 this definitely scored a 9. We loved the food which was excellently prepared and extremely delicious. Walked in, nice decor and ambience, the place was busy. Unfortunately the service was very slow, it took over 1 hour for two meals to arrive. When the food did arrive it was kind of boring. I stopped here for brunch with my two travel buddies on our last day in London and absolutely loved it! It was the perfect start to our day. The food and beverages (we tried the avocado on toast, Bill's breakfast, Eggs Royale, Earl tea, coffee, scones, and sponge cake) were delightfully tasty. The quality, appearance, and portion sizes of the menu items were great. We were very pleased with our meal! The real gem to our Bill's experience however, was our server, Etienne! He was incredibly warm and friendly, and we had so much fun joking around with him. He provided excellent service, gave honest opinions about the menu, and was just so genuinely sweet. Love it here! They present everything in a really nice, quirky fashion. Food has always been delicious and portion sizes are pleasingly large, worth the price. Staff are super friendly, if a little slow. Outdoor seating is lovely. We'll definitely return here soon read more

I've been twice to Bill's so far and would come back anytime. Very cosy because it's beautifully decorated and not too stuffed with tables and chairs, so it doesn't feel crowded even when full. Food was great, both breakfast and dinner, service was prompt and friendly and the toilets were clean. I wish, Bill's would open up restaurants with exactly the same menu in Germany, so people would stop saying British food is cr*p, because it isn't.
