I love buying from local stores and shops in Fullerton there is so much history and so many places to check out. Black Hole should be considered a local institution for heavy punk, new wave, Brit pop and alternative music lovers. When I was looking for the obscure bands that the radio and Hollywood would not play or give love to I could always count on Black Hole records to fill that void of artistic need for the different and not the mundane. Bill is very knowledgeable when it comes to music and you can easily spend hours talking to him about music. He also has a band called naughty women check them out. It beats waiting for albums to come in the mail from Amazon crime.

My father authored 3 books and is a collector of SEA books. My mom's mom owned a neighborhood bookstore. So, books are literally life. In their glass case, they currently have a Bruce Lee book in their collector's section that I really want, but you know my son's gotta eat and we can eat books. The service has and consistently is highly knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming to not just us, but to all who walk in. The value is = or better than Barnes and Nobles because they have point systems and 2 x a year, the local's favorite..."The Fire Sale!" Although this is not like the Standard in New York, it is definitely top 3 of my favorite book stores of all time.

I checked it out a few times and I was sad to see it had closed. Here I found an amazing record: Linda Rondstadt - Canciones de mi Padre. It was at incredible quality and at a great price. Anyway I'm so happy he opened a new shop. The owner is super friendly. He really loves music. Check it out. And don't forget to check out the gems in the bargain bins!

I also purchased a Green Lantern power battery replica for a very fair price, below the current market value by a fair amount. Even my back issues were heavily discounted and I ended up paying somewhere around $0.50 a book! I left with a huge stack! The employees were all friendly, and knowledgeable, and in something I like seeing in shops like this, seemed to lean on each other to compensate for questions they didn't have answers to. I could spend hours here digging through the bins before ever even shopping the toys.

I collect mostly Transformers figures/comics and it's kinda hard for me to find a shop that gives me a little bit of everything about my favorite franchise. But a while back they had a HUGE selection of IDW Transformers back issues. I went crazy and got a bunch of them whenever I stopped by to pick up the current Skybound run. All the staff is super nice and genuinely super kind! I've had no bad experiences here and they're all super knowledgeable about the things I'm interested in buying. They also provide really good suggestions for me which is great. Overall a great comic book store and nice figure options!

One table near the back of the venue has the Doom, Stoner Rock, Crust Doom, Black Doom records. Did I say PUNK....amazing punk stuff found all over. I bought a Hendrix record (live in Maui) for 8 bucks used. JUST GO, and go every month. This is a great thing...don't miss it. OH YEA....Do you like JAZZ? Yup...massive jazz selection. Early admission is $10 to get in before 10am and general admission is $5 after 10am. To get here, there is a free parking lot with a good amount of spots. Inside, they have a bunch of vendors with so many crates to dig through. Vendors all have different prices and selection of genres. Wifey and I had a fun time perusing around and ended up leaving with a Getz/Gilberto and Snoh Aalegra vinyls. I would definitely recommend checking out the show for those looking to explore new records for their collection.

My friend and I were approached by three different employees during our time there. They asked if they could assist us with anything and gave some great recommendations. I was looking for a fantasy book for my teenage brother and the employee was incredibly helpful giving recommendations, finding the "teen book of the month." I didn't even know they had a teen book of the month! The organization of the store was great. The categories and book selections that were specially displayed were especially helpful. For example, in their AAPI stories section I was able to find some really interesting books that I might have not otherwise seen. A selection of their Barnes and Noble specialty book covers that feature some classic works (like Pride and Prejudice and Winnie the Pooh) were on sale for between $8-$12. For such a beautiful high quality book, I would definitely return to purchase one of those at that price. The other books though were a bit pricey. The employees there made this visit extra enjoyable. I don't go to Barnes and Noble very often, but yesterday's visit makes me want to return again soon.

While I couldn't find what I was looking for, they do have a wide selection of albums and kpop merch. There is also this really good free bin where you can donate albums and pick from the pile. I can't really comment on pricing as this was my first ever kpop store but they seemed about average. Staff was super busy helping customers so I didn't really interact with them since I didn't buy anything. I will probably be back to pick up my SKZ and BTS light sticks as their prices are comparable to online prices; I prefer to support an independent brick and mortar than online (if possible).
