Their baked goods are always delicious. We recently had a catering order that went smoothly. The entire order was prepared on time and correctly. We had to pick up the order a day in advance, but the salad was crispy, pasta salad was fresh and the wraps were crunchy and delicious. She explained how to properly eat their cake as some of the buttercream needs to thaw to ensure the flavor profile is unmatched. I walked in with the intention of getting a simple half dozen macarons for a friend that had just had a new baby. Not only did they let me try one of their new flavors for free, when the transaction was over, they asked if I would be interested in taking pastries for the nurses that cared for my friend that had just given birth. We came here on a recommendation for their desserts and being out of towners, we went big. We preordered a special cake for no special reason about 3 weeks in advance. They're currently in the midst of renovations so they're doing orders drive thru. No biggie here, although I'd love to see the place when they're finished. When we got here, we decided to splurge on a few more goods including the macarons, cookies and croissants. We devoured the macarons after getting them. I would say these were impressive with capturing each flavor. I didn't eat the cookie but the highlights here are the croissants and the cake so get your hands on these if you can. Croissants are a rotating flavor...so we had the tomato basil. It is unbelievably flaky, not greasy and all and packed with flavor! Even after setting it in the fridge, the croissant held up its flaky, crispy, buttery nature. We ordered the should've been my wedding cake. The buttercream cuts so nicely and they do a great job of pairing tart with sweet for a balance that doesn't leave you hanging with gut rot. We had the 6 inch, so this had four cake layers and three frosting layers-two of which had a cream/whole raspberry combination. Came into Whisk and Arrow, Appleton Wisconsin for the first time today. One of the best bakeries in Appleton, although the macarons are pricey (over $20 for 8) they are worth it. I've never seen so many flavors of macarons, everything from chocolate and vanilla to passion fruit and blueberry lemon there is something for everyone. I only ordered macarons and they were spectacular so I can only imagine the other cookies, brownies, cakes, and pies are just as tasty as the macarons. read more

We ordered a Shorty....Raspberry chambord buttercream squeezed between 2 layers of the most moist almond cake we've ever had. All of their lovely cakes are custom made and topped with some of the most delicious French macarons we've ever tried. The varieties of fillings, frostings and cake flavors is amazing. We also purchased a few baked goods. Everything that we sampled was positively delicious. The flavors of macarons are so creative, unlike anything we've had in the area. The owner Nea was wonderful! The cakes are beautiful, but very dry. The box of cake, which used to be in a cup, seems to be the designer cake scraps, saved and put in a box with frosting on top. Very crumbly and dry and seriously over-priced. Everything is overpriced. We are not in New York City, and $10 for a slice of cheesecake or $12 for a slice of cake is laughable. I know they use real butter, etc., but so do a lot of other local vendors who charge much less. The cookie prices went up by 25% overnight. While this used to be a weekly stop for a cookie or other treat, now I have to consider the price over quality. I stopped getting cake a long time ago, now I'm afraid it's goodbye for good. read more

The croissants are wonderful! Such a treat to have and you can tell a lot of hard work was put into making them. The macarons were also amazing. My only downside is the chocolate chip shortbread cookies were pretty floury tasting and not so much like a shortbread but don't let that put you off of trying other things! The macarons are amazing, melt in your mouth, delicious. They usually have at least 10 flavors to choose from. The almond amaretto is my current favorite. The standard cookies are great too. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the shop is not ADA compliant. There is a flight of stairs to greet you in the entrance. Not fun.
