It was so easy to work with Whisk Cake Creations for my son's first birthday party cake. I was recommended to use them because the event planner at my baby shower had used them for our cutest cake with a baby boy's butt! Months ahead of the event I shared the theme to be Very Hungry Caterpillar and some inspirational pictures from IG. They had questions around how many people would be eating the cake (per Covid the birthday party was just immediate family) and what flavor we would want. We went with chocolate cake for the adult cake and then a smash cake for my son. It was his first time eating cake! It was definitely less sweet and he loved it. I was in awe of the beautiful cake and it was definitely the star of the party. They sent an email invoice a week before the party and then picking was easy with detailed instructions on keeping the cake in the fridge an hour before wanting to eat it. I also asked if they did decorative sugar cookies and they recommended me to Shannon Cooks and she was great to work with too. Love supporting Alameda businesses! This little bakery is a gem! I went to visit the PB Outlet on a Sunday and saw this place when driving by. After shopping went back and picked up a few items. They sold out of most things by the time we went 1ish. What we grabbed tasted amazing. First the Coconut pineapple cupcake, don't skip this thing, it was moist, right balance of sweet but not too sweet and full of flavor! Chocolate chip cookies I wish I grabbed a dozen so good! Also can't forget the mochi muffin churro flavor...just the way it should be with texture, moist, and really flavorful. Wish I took photos but everything was so good. read more

I helped my cousin order cake tasting cakes from here for her wedding. I was so in love with the flavors, I ended up frequenting here when I would find myself nearby and get a slice or cupcake. My favorite flavor is the mocha crunch; that slightly sweet taste with rich chocolate notes, coupled by the subtle crunch, destroys my diet everytime. I can't resist it. So, imagine my surprise when, on the wedding day, this person who has been sampling Whisk on the regular, was met with a wedding cake that taste even better than what I had been eating on my cake venture days. In case you didn't know, their cake is nicely moist, never offensively sweet and the buttercream is smoothly rich without feeling heavy. I hate fondant. Yet here I was, at the wedding indulging in this dense but still slightly light, almost marshmallow tasting fondant. I was even seeking out bites of only fondant, I couldn't believe it! This is one cake you know that will not only look great but tastes good too! Usually you see people taking off the frosting when eating a cake but there was no frosting left behind Reasonably priced and feeds about 10-12 as cake is pretty tall. VERY exciting to have a Food Network contestant in our hometown. Their cakes are CRAZY delicious. We were lucky enough to have tasted the chocolate mocha crunch at a wedding recently. Simply outstanding! Their frosting is truly Best of the Bay. Love that they expanded to having a Cafe Wed-Sun. A great business decision considering that this part of the Island is newly developed. The coffee is tasty & is sure to impress any aficionado. However, they have some work to do with their pastries. The Ham & Cheese croissant needs an adjustment & its sure to be award worthy. The cheese crusted croissant itself is heavenly but they tuck 2 slices of ham inside that are HELLA thick. When it's toasted, the ham is so thick it doesn't heat properly & becomes very tough to chew. I would recommend a more delicate slice of ham. It doesn't need much. The cupcakes were a huge disappointment! I tried the red velvet, coconut & raspberry cream. I'm assuming they freeze the cupcakes & thaw them out because the cake itself was a very unpleasant dry texture. Frosting is scrumptious. I like how they tuck some frosting in the middle of the cupcakes. The raspberry was too sour & not very well balanced with the frosting which already cuts back on the sugar (an otherwise pleasant feature of their frosting). This was my second time ordering a cake from Whisk and once again I was very pleased with the outcome! I reached out to Henry (great communication) to place an order for a 'Rasta' cake for my boyfriends birthday party. When I inquired about the cake Henry reached out to me immediately, and we started brainstorming and coming up with ideas for the cake. I provided him with pictures to reference, and mentioned that I wanted the cake to be similar, in design, of the cake I found on Pinterest, but with a twist (different). Henry did just that! Every kiddo deserves at least one birthday party that they will talk, brad and gush about from now until one day hey get to tell their own children. This year our little guy turned 10 and we decided that 10 was the year for his big day. Jasper LOVES Steven Universe, I had seen a couple designs of various cakes but nothing was quite right. I sent a ton of pictures to Henry and had some blind faith... Our communication was purely email and the various cake pictures. He was able to take my ideas and turn them into something truly special. (That alone is a special talent.) The artwork, design, mastery, color, technique and engineering can speak for themselves as one reviews my photos (or really anyone else's.. WOW!). Whisk is at high ratings and good "local" cake decor. So I chosen for my simple birthday cake nothing special just want it pretty and taste great. Tho the ladies upfront store were not very welcoming the other one was smiling props to her The price paid $36 I was expecting a cheesecake taste better than 85 bakery cheesecake. The decor is pretty but soon the fruits on top are not fresh, icing were overly sweet. Design was lil off what I would like having the words on a label at bottom. I said few fruits (like 10) on top right then happy pig on the bottom portion. I didn't mind it but icing were unbearable. I ate one slice and bit more my dad ate some. If it's a good cake it should be gone in 3 days that's how long to be kept. I first discovered Whisk Cake Creations after our go-to bakery, Katrina Rozelle, closed up shop earlier this year. In my search for a new bakery, I came across Whisk. What really intrigued me is that the owner used to work at Katrina Rozelle. Upon telling my husband about my discovery, we knew we had to give them a try. We ordered one of their 6" mocha crunch cakes and they did not disappoint. The cake was delicious and moist, and the cream filling was delicate with a slight crunch. The texture of the cake is lighter and fluffier than Katrina's, whose cake was firmer and more spongy. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, it's more about personal preference. We enjoyed the cake so much that we ordered the 6" almond bavarian cake about a month later. It tasted just like the Katrina Rozelle cake we got for our wedding. Just when we thought we were done with cake for awhile, I got an email that Whisk was making special cupcakes for Halloween, so of course we had to get some of those too. The bakery is in a very unassuming location between Monkey Thai and a donut shop. You can taste the ube flavor in the cake and frosting - not too sweet ... just perfect. The creamy macapuno/coconut center was a pleasant surprise! The carrot cake is spot on in flavor, and moist and not too sugary. The center cream cheese was, again, a nice treat. I'm so so happy that I went with Henry and Whisk Creations for a beautiful 10" bridal shower cake. I am by no means a cake connoisseur, but did lots of research about suitable cakes for the occasion. I provided Henry with general ideas, and he exceeded all of my expectations. And most of all, the bride and her guests (some of whom are fellow bakers and know cakes quite well) were enamored by the design and flavor altogether. If I have only one very constructive critique, it is the communication delay. I had inquired with 3 bakeries, and while Whisk Cake Creations was my first choice, I wasn't so sure if it would work out because my deadline was around the corner and the email correspondence was a little delayed, so I was close to canceling and going with another baker. I'm glad I hung around though, and understand it could be very well because of how busy the team is! I'd just suggest a quicker email turnaround that confirms design, pricing, pickup date and time, etc.for clients.
