There are glass cases full of breads, cakes, eclairs, tarts and other delicious looking baked goods. On the top of the cases are jars with a variety of cookies to choose from, as well as, one of my favorites, their lemon shortbread bar. The lemon shortbread bar is amazing. They stack the wedges in a large lidded glass jar, each wedge separated with a sheet of white parchment paper. I believe this is one of the hidden gems at La Farine. The shortbread crust Is tender and buttery and hold holds it shape well when you bite into it. The lemon curd is creamy with the right amount of tang, and there is a thin sweet layer of crunch on top of curd that puts this bar over the top. The balance of textures and flavors is perfect. I also highly recommend the chocolate eclairs. Each one is filled with a generous amount of piped whipped cream, a pate choux with good flavor and texture, and topped with a rich, silky layer of chocolate ganache. Overall their prices are reasonable -lemon shortbread bar $3, and chocolate eclair 3.50. I decided to give La Farine four stars because on a previous visit I had a slice of the Moka cake, and was not impressed. It is an attractive and delicious looking cake with lovely pale moka colored frosting surrounding layers of dark chocolate cake, however, the frosting lacked the coffee and chocolate flavor combo that I was looking forward to, and sadly the frosting was more waxy than creamy. That being said, I will definitely be back to search for the next delicious gems at this very lovely bakery on Piedmont Ave.

I had always heard about this place but it was not until recently I was able to try them. I had there ham and cheese turnover and a pecan sticky bun one time I stopped by and then I had the ham and cheese turnover again with a slice of there apple harvest cake. One that ham and cheese turnover is the star of the show. Crust is so buttery and me being the savory queen that I am it is just so good. Go and get one and you will understand what I am trying to say. The stick bun was ok but that apple harvest cake! So moist and the apples are baked in so perfect. The team that serves you is always so kind and upbeat. Super intuitive. I have not had the opportunity to sit down as I am always on the way to work when I stop by here. Whether you are dining in or you are grabbing something to go. Stop in and you will not be disappointed.

She had picked up half a dozen of the vegan chocolate chip cookies from this place. I tried one very skeptically. And was completely blown away as to how good the cookie was. By virtual of being vegan, there is no butter, so I'm completely perplexed as to how they are able to get the cookie to come out. But it taste fantastic. Not too overly sweet. And pretty much taste like a normal cookie. After that experience, I went down a month later and got a couple of my own from the bake shop itself. The place is well decorated and homie. I'll be back!

At $4.75 each or $54/dozen for standard size cupcakes, the price is a bit steep, but these also aren't just your regular supermarket cupcakes. They taste amazing, are beautifully presented, many are even filled, and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. They make the perfect gift for a special occasion. I'm a baker and am a bit of a cake snob. I've eaten some beautiful cupcakes and found the taste doesn't always match the look- but that's not the case here. Flavors are on point, frosting is delicious and cake is light and airy. Many of the cupcakes are even filled. I can see why the key lime pie one is a favorite- I think I like it better than the pie version! The frosting tastes like cheesecake and it even has the classic pie crust on bottom. The crème brûlée cupcakes were unique and a standout also. They also have a gluten free option and a couple vegan options. I ordered online and it was quick and easy to pick up towards the back of Swan's Market. Staff was quick & friendly. There aren't many places around to buy a good cupcake, and none quite like these. I highly recommend them and will be a repeat customer.

Shoutout to my brother Zo, because we were on our way to Chef Smelly's when I mentioned Gregory's to him and how I hadn't tried them yet. He was like, "na bruh, we gotta go pull up." And I'm glad we did because let me tell you... best desserts I've had. This is now my third time coming in within a one month span I'm embarrassed to admit. I've tried the FatBoy (Combination of Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding), the sweet potato pie, red velvet cake and a few other cheesecakes. Gregory's even has these hearty croissant filled pies, straight SHMACKIN! Get the chicken spinach one, you won't be disappointed. Surprised my wife a few days ago after driving 4 hours down the California central coast to surprise her with some desserts and she was not disappointed. It's a very small underground-ish area, and there's no seating. You ask the staff for whichever pastries you'd like and they grab it out of the case/fridge for you. Ranked best to worst, we got the: - milkshake pie: omg idk how but it really does taste like a milkshake, coffee base with huge oreo chunks mixed in. brownie crust was quite tough but bottom was compressed oreo - sweet potato cake: yummm, tastes like carrot cake, well spiced, moist - coconut cream pie: not too sweet, big coconut chunks mixed into the base, light, very crumbly crust like loose crumbs - red velvet cake: easily the worst one, dry like a grocery store cake honestly Only issue is these got stale fast, like the cakes weren't moist the next day. Microwaved them to fix that and if you like warm cake then that's a helpful hack. They have a huge variety of desserts, many that I've never heard of or tried so definitely excited to try again.
