Having eaten here many times, I can say there isn't anything on the menu that I haven't enjoyed. Even the specials are good. There is a ton of seating as well as a breakfast bar, but it does get busy for breakfast on the weekends. I've had both breakfast and lunch, and now they are open for dinner. The food is always great and a good value. If you're in the area, go enjoy a meal at Whistle Stop. read more

We got there at noon and only waited a couple minutes to get a table. Food was great! I reccomended the Hangover Skillet. Potatatoes topped with ham, bacon, sausage, biscuit, cheese and gravy. Then pick your egg style and thise finish the dish. Minor negatives: waiting for coffee to be filled, food was warm but not hot. The times that I have come here this place have not let me down. Place is clean upon entry, staff is friendly. Breakfast on Sundays are a full house here, so if you do not want to wait an hour, come early, however if you do wait, I promise it's worth it. The place is also good for lunch. I took my family to the Whistle Stop for breakfast during mandated pandemic safety restrictions. Expensive but reasonably good food, and it's convenient. We arrived to find no masks, no distancing, no regard for anyone. Needless to say, we left unfed. I'm very sympathetic to the harm done to many businesses by necessary restrictions. I'm also very knowledgeable about the billions of dollars that have been granted to these businesses, "loans" that neither have to be paid back nor declared as income. So there's no real excuse for any of these businesses to flout regulations designed to help keep people safe from a potentially deadly disease. This restaurant put profits over people. read more

Great family restaurant for good old classics with a twist. I had a hearty meatloaf sandwich with tater tots that was out of this world. The bread was awesome and it was served with an awesome sauce and perfectly sliced onions. My friends ordered classic club sandwich and Reuben and pancakes and one friend ordered a skillet that was awesome. We shared a piece of key lime pie that you knew was homemade and it did not disappoint. Our waitress Diane was wonderful and even charged my friend's phone for her and when she forgot it she ran out with it for her. She was on point the whole time. I am one of those people that prefer canned corned beef over homemade because it browns and gets crispy. When I tell you that this place has the BEST corned beef I've had in a restaurant, I mean it. Literally everything about my breakfast was so good. Everything was seasoned perfectly, the CB was nice and crispy and so tasty, the eggs were exactly how I like them and the service was top notch. I just started taking the train to work and saw this place while I was driving in and decided time check it out and I'm so glad we did. Love coming to whistle stop! When I lived a lot closer this was my go to breakfast spot. I still make the drive out if I can. Food is amazing! Staff is awesome! They even make pies! I came for breakfast for my birthday and didn't say anything because I get embarrassed and right as my partner and I are leaving he made a comment and they offered me a free slice of pie to go home with!
