The pancakes deluxe with crispy bacon and scrambled eggs! Pumpkin French toast with icing and it is toastalicious!

It's always friendly and fast here at the Cubby Cafe and we're here enjoying another breakfast! The pumpkin bread french toast is delicious and very sweet! I got my usual pancakes deluxe with bacon and scrambled eggs. Our waitress was attentive enough to make our visit perfect!

Loved it! We came here with family that has been eating here for years. We all ordered breakfast. My wife and I shared the Corned Beef Hash Skillet. We asked for no peppers and that's how it came out. Chris was our server. She was great! My wife's aunt was with us and knows Chris. This is a new location for the Cubby Cafe. The old location burned down. The inside is spacious and clean, albeit noisy when full. We'll be back in the area next year and I look forward to eating here again.

The Hangover Special with over easy egg and pancakes. Fantastic!

This was my first time at the Cubby Cafe since their move to a stand-alone building. I'm glad to say that the food is as good, if not better than I remember it. We hadn't had breakfast and I was famished on our way back to IL from WI on a typical weekday afternoon. I don't remember the exact name of the dish, but it was hashbrowns mixed with bacon and sausage, covered in sausage gravy with an over-easy egg on top, just for good measure. Here's what made this mid-day breakfast memorable. The hashbrowns were really crispy. I love them like that. The bacon and sausage were plentiful, but not over the top and neither one was ridiculously salty. The gravy (of biscuits and gravy fame) was right on the money. It wasn't too thick or thin, had good seasoning and plenty of sausage chunks. In addition, the egg was just right over easy, and the side of pancakes rounded the entire meal out. On top of all that, the coffee was really good and served in the classic thick-walled diner coffee mug, which was great. I strongly recommend The Cubby Cafe for breakfast, any time of the day. We'll be back the next time we're in that neck of the woods.

(OPEN SINCE April 23') I have been wanting a place to open locally where it would compete with simple cafe in lake geneva. The cubby cafe has ALOT GOING FOR IT. Despite it being open for such a short time the quality is good. A few observations 1.FAST SERVICE. (They were never rude to me despite needing my table for a large party) 2. Clean and new. (Good ambience and VERY BUSY) 3.VERY nice staff and attentive without being pushy despite being really busy 4. The FOOD VERY GOOD...nothing out of the ordinary but cooked well and not overdone. 5. Right on the bike trail..LOVE THIS 6. Ample parking. Very nice that they are connected through the back to tryon grove road for an easy exit. 7. For warmer weather they have a small patio which is available for outdoor seating. (See point #5) I got a platter with scrambled eggs and corned beef hash as well sausage with orange juice.. This place is my new go to. Improvements?...add items as an add on like goat cheese and instead of toast have options like corn or flour tortillas. Also add almond or oatmilk as an alternative to cream.

The food was good, the staff is great every time I've been there. As far as the ambiance it's pretty basic for a diner setting.

I love being able to browse local goods and support people in the community. There's plenty of parking on the side of the buildings, and some on the street in front of the cafe. We haven't had to wait for a table yet, but the food is good enough that I'd wait if I had to. Will definitely be back!

I went with the--I believe--lumberjack crepe, a crepe with a fried egg on top, drizzled with maple syrup. It was decent, but not something that I would necessarily get again. The concept was just a bit better than the execution. I opted for the Latte Dulce De Fuego to drink, as I was hoping it would be reminiscent of the Mexican Spice coffee drink I used to get from Stone Creek Coffee in Milwaukee back in the day. This one is Espresso, cayenne pepper, chocolate, steamed milk. I asked if it was spicy and the waitress told me that it wasn't. She lied. It was quite spicy. My eyes watered. My nose ran. Mind you, it was good, but it was actually quite hot. And I had to get some creamer, a lot of creamer, to dilute it and make it palatable for me. Outside of the attempted murder, it was a very nice meal!

Paisano's on Broadway occupies a unique--and important--place in Richmond's dining landscape…read more Credit where it's due: Phil and Karen Gilardi were instrumental in elevating the town beyond pure fast-food dependence. They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.
