Wish I had known about this clothing and outdoorwear store earlier. Staff are very helpful, the selection is great, and it's easy to find everything you need all in one space if you are spending more time out-of-doors than you used to (for example on a street corner protesting weekly) or you have a new job that requires you to be outside. If you are looking for a solid material that you can wear for a long time, that is safe, or that is functional and practical...etc. I recommend this place first. Whistal workwear, As the name suggests, it is suitable for work clothes, but I use it as everyday clothes. A friend of mine gave me socks here many years ago. The socks don't tighten your ankles when worn thick and The fabric is also solid and I've been wearing it for 5 years now, still sturdy and good. There are few women's items, but I like cargo pants. A fitting room is also available, and the capacity is kind. When you check in on Yelp, there is a deal where you can get free socks when you buy shoes. A friend of mine bought shoes and got socks. A check in surprise is always nice! Free socks with boot purchase, if you need them. I happened in here on a tip from the company and was immediately greeted by a super shy girl up front. I applaud that she was willing and able to get help and do a thing. I was then greeted by the man of the hour. Sad, I forgot his name :( I am a horrible Yelper. I know it had a Z. First and foremost, this store was clean, super clean. I was also offered water while I shopped. The selection for what I was looking for was limited, but only because I wanted a super huge girls sweatshirt in my side 3X. Yeah, not gonna work. The store still looked in other stores for a chance that it existed. I was also surprised that Carhardt jeans cost me under 30 bucks. What??? That's a super good deal, I mean really good. I was expecting super high prices. They weren't. I got a lunchbox that'll last a lifetime, 2 pants, 3 shirts, a hat, a sweatshirt, all carhardt and Stanley, and well worth the price I paid. I recently bought a pair of work boots from the Everett wa. Location. I tried them on at the store and they felt pretty good, so i bought them. I later tried them on at home and wore them around the house for a while and realized the right boot didn't feel good. Because of my job I couldn't return them for a over a month. When I did i was accused of wearing them and was called a liar for trying to exchange them. I was shocked at the accusation and admittedly I became angry and said a few things I regret. Then I contacted corporate to complain and they decided to make it right and exchange them. The manager of the store decided he agreed with his employee that i was lying but replaced them. But, only because my company does allot of business with them. In reality, they sold me those boots in the condition I returned them in. I recommend if you do shop there, be darn sure those shoes are spotless before you leave and that you don't need to return them because you will be called a liar and a thief. It is very upsetting to be called a liar when your telling the absolute truth!!! I will never shop there again!! And 1 star is being far too generous!!! read more

Wow! This chain is where you need to go for serious work gear clothes. I am a merchant seafarer, so I need stuff that can handle the abuse of my job. On top of that, they respect organized labor and give a 10% discount to Union members. Just show your book. One of the things I trash all the time is rain gear. I mean I ruin my stuff like real bad. Every week, we do washdown. At times, we even have livestock coming or going to/from Hawaii. That's nasty biz when it's warm or hot. What I love about Whistle is the over-the-top selection. They have Helly Hansen, Carhart, and all the best gear. If you don't need mega-industrial gear, they have you covered. Oh! They do have CoVid masks of all kinds. Even Seattle local Outdoor Development. Got even your face covered! Hard hats, reflective vests, hi-viz shirts and pants, work gloves, water-proof note pads and pens, bandanas, strap-on and insert knee pads, cool flashlights, and the list just goes on! If you work (Labor) for a living or just want the gnarliest work gear to last you a lifetime, Whistle is the place to check out. I've been shopping at Whistle for years and they always have what I need . Second pair of boots I've bought at this location and the ladies are always super helpful. I was a little bummed they don't sell Redwings anymore but I still got a great pair of Keens that are very comfortable. I did have an issue with my boots after 3 weeks and I brought them back and they immediately swapped me for a new set and it only took a few minutes. When it's time for another set of work boots I'll be heading back to this location. read more

I stopped in Friday 4/22. I wear a size 16 so I really wasn't expecting them to have my size in stock. Guessing right they checked stock and had a pair I liked in stock in Tacome, they would be in the next Wednesday 4/27. Called on the 27th, not on the truck. Called on the 28th, not on the truck. Called today the 29th, not on the truck and probably won't make it in until the next Wednesday 6/6. Just coming from Tacome! You pay $280 for a pair of work boots and they can't even move them from Tacoma to Seattle outside of 2 weeks. Ridiculous! read more

I think this is the newest store in the Whistle Workwear chain. The customer service is excellent. If they were short stocked it was because it's right after Christmas. They were; however, busy restocking shelves. Among other things I bought two pair of Carhartt ripstop workpants. As always I am happy that they do alterations. Alterations, especially without any extra fee, are difficult to find in the work wear stores. read more

I went to this place because i was recommend it. I bought these Steel toe shoes and worried about 5 or 6 times and now there's a big terror in the middle of the shoes. Stop by today to see if they can exchange them or fix it for me. The lady basically said sorry you're not in the system and we can't do nothing for you. I felt that she just wanted me out of there as quickly as possible. It's very sad for them because I know how many of my friends that come here and spend their money. Stopped in today desperately seeking comfortable work boots. I'm having a hard time with my feet hurting and have to be careful about what I buy. They didn't have a very large selection in the 7-7.5 men's size (that could use some addressing) but the gal that was working was awesome! She scoured high and low, trying to find the right boot. No one greeted me when I came in the door so I finally had to get somebody's attention then all of sudden there was two people helping three people and as more people came in I felt this was hopeless there are too many customers for the amount of staff right now I just grabbed the fire retardant blue jeans that I was going to purchase and decide to just leave the store I'm disappointed about this I've spent probably $600 in this store and I probably would have spent more money today but you lost some sales today I may point out that where the store is it's kind of hard to get to and I can't stop here on my way to work Monday through Friday so instead I stopped in here maybe two or three or four times a year because it's very hard to get help and maybe next time I should go just down to South center and get my business to that store down there read more

Working out doors can be a soggy experience, unless you have Whistle Workwear on! This is a "working mans/womans" store which specializes in the industrial and construction industries but where the "common" man/woman can find fabulous gear for the outdoor adventurer. They have a wonderful selection of boots and shoes and this is where I find myself most of the time. The prices are fair and service is good. They have the answers. read more

Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed their selection and service for a long time, but the store was so unbearably hot today I had to cut my visit short!! All I could see were two casual fans that didn't seem to contribute much at to keeping the store's temperature anything less than a sauna. In less than fifteen minutes after walking through the door I was already sweating perfusely. Last thing I want to do after working all day in the summer sun is going into a store that's even hotter than it is outside in order to get the things I need! Please Whistle, get air conditioning that works. There's no way on God's green earth I can be the only customer who feels this way. read more

Whistle Workwear on south 1st Ave. in Seattle has earned my business. I bought a $150 pair of boots and wore them for a shift at work. 6 hours on my feet at a certain home store type warehouse business. The boots bit into my ankles and weren't going to work for me, so I took them back and was able to exchange them for another style and brand. No hard feelings at all, these people are professional and knowledgeable about the product. I will go back. Prices were extremely competitive and they had a wide variety of work boots. Carhart prices were lower than I've seen anywhere in the PNW. read more

I spent over 1000 dollars on chirstmas gifts for my employees. I drove from north Kirkland to the SODO district in traffic to get heavy duty rain gear for all my employees. They did not have anything in stock. I told them I needed all the coats and bib pants by Tuesday of the following week. I was shopping on a Thursday and was told that they transfer inventory every day and they could transfer the needed items from Tacoma in one day. They told me that to be safe that I should give them until Saturday. Since it takes me over an hour in traffic to get to the store I wanted until Monday to come back. They could not find my order. They did find parts of it and tried to ring me up for items that I had already paid for. When I asked to talk to a manager they told me that he could not be located. I asked it they could call someone on the phone and they could not. After 45 minutes they at least found my paperwork but then told me that really I needed to give them more time. I had to leave the store without my items. I was given sarcastic remarks about how it was not the companies fault. I am so upset. I will never buy from Whistle work wear again. No one could even tell me when or if my rain gear will come in. I asked if it could be shipped directly to me and they told me absolutely not. After driving twice to the store and spending over 1000. dollars I still do not have my items and my employees will not get their Christmas gifts at the company party.
