Kyleigh is great. Erika is great. The chef is even better than great. And the cooks. Great. Bartender is great. If you're up 410 COME HERE! Stay here. Shop here. Great gifts (and I bet you didn't think I could use the word "great" one more time.)

Had the BEST time this weekend at Whistlin Jack's campsite. I had a hard time finding a camping reservation in the National park, so this was a perfect alternative. Booked 2 campsites for my group of 8 and it was the perfect space on the River with lots of space, including a fire pit and picnic table. It was secluded but also with the convenience of being next door to a little shop, bar, and restaurant (with great food). The location was also perfect - we did a nearby hike at Naches Loop and hug out at Bumping Lake. The staff at Whistlin Jack's was so friendly. I would come back and highly recommend!

Sit down. Listen. Please. Especially if you are the new owners. Arrived (been there a few times), no front desk staff in sight, 7min wait for her to appear. We believe she was turning on the BASEBOARD heat in our room. Got the keys, entered, used restroom, killed a spider, went to Living room, killed spider #2. Went to check the lounge & find some heat. Ordered a drink, but never received it as they DONT HAVE THEIR LIQUOR LICENSE. Either does the mini mart attached to the lodge. I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem that they didn't mention this when I booked the room (tried to book online, not working yet, have to call.) The "waitress's" quick response "go down to Gold Creek." Ugh! So, now I'm frustrated by the fact that you are encouraging drunk driving?!! Come on whistlin jacks. The room was no where near the price of $149. No tv, no WiFi, which I knew, but the heat, the staff, the lack of cleaning, the only thing I liked was the hot tub. Save your money! When went the Gold Creek, the have rooms, STAY THERE!

A few of the performers in the fly ballet. They wouldn't even touch most of the food.

However, the main campground is much more wooded and pleasant (though the sites are still very close to each other.) I'd give it a 4 if we had stayed there. Pros: electricity, water and sewer were available at the site. The camp also has a pool (closed during these covid times), a small store, a restaurant, and it also looked like they sell propane on site though we didn't buy any. The park is in reasonable proximity to both Bumping Lake and Chinook Pass to the west and Naches and Yakima to the east. Cons: as I said, small sites and the overflow area was quite ugly. Also the men's bathroom is secured with a sliding chain safety lock which allows the door to open a bit before it engages. This allows someone outside to see you sitting in the throne when someone else tries to open the door. I don't know if the women's bathroom is the same way, but whoever thought that kind of lock was appropriate for a bathroom with no stalls or other privacy screens needs to try it once or twice and see how it feels. The price seemed pretty standard for RV parks with full hookups.

Parking is a bit of a hassle and we ended up paying the $10 for hotel, parking in a lot around the corner. It was worth it as we could walk to restaurants within blocks of the hotel. As for the room itself, it was moderately sized but we had room for all our gear without tripping over anything. The king sized bed was comfortable with 5 pillows provided (the norm seems to be 4 nowadays). The room was very quiet but the bathroom has a sliding barn door which unfortunately doesn't muffle bathroom noises which should be private. Decor is soothing warm neutrals with a small sofa and a desk chair provided for seating. There is a small frig but no microwave. Keurig is provided for in room coffee but I would recommend going down to the lobby where fresh brewed coffee seems to be provided. 22/7. We did not check out the rooftop garden due to the weather. Would've enjoyed a drink in the cozy bar adjacent to the lobby but it doesn't seem to be open yet. I would definitely stay here again should I have the need to overnight in Ellensburg.

So last week, on my way to Seattle I decided to stay the night in beautiful Ellensburg, WA (home to Central Washington University). Since it was just for a couple nights, I decided to get something downtown so I could walk around. I found Hotel Windrow online, booked the room and what a fantastic surprise. This boutique hotel is indeed RIGHT downtown. It's stylish, easy to find, obviously in a great location, and the property includes a hip little lobby bar a space called 'Top of the Berg' which is a rooftop area with fire pits, etc. very cosmopolitan. The rooms were lovely, very homey with a small couch, desk, large bathroom and comfortable bed. I walked two blocks to a fantastic Italian meal (more about that in another review) and overall, had a truly fantastic and easy night. A couple amenities to highlight include ample parking and electric charging spaces for electric cars or hybrids. I love finds like this, and plan on making at least one night stay over a regular occurrence now if I'm traveling on I-90. Recommended.

Her and other staffs worked so hard together to keep the place going and cozy as much as possible. There's also a fire place that's available to use during winter. Also a complimentary coffee, tea and cider to help warm you after a chilly hike somewhere. Cons: Price is too steep and for the 10 days that we booked here we only got 10% discount and at the time they don't serve breakfast nor dinner. It happens to be in downtown Cle Elum, and as in with walking distance to a few local bars and restaurants. From the moment we stepped in, we felt so much at home. The space was warm and charming with attention to detail on all levels. The room had an appealing modern atmosphere. The cozy bed with luxury sheets and pillows were amazing to sleep in. We loved having our coffee in the morning in the front room with the small kitchenette. We also enjoyed having access to a fridge where we could bring back a nice bottle of wine for a nightcap. The morning of check-in I received an email for a contactless check-in, that was a nice touch! The hotel is in a great location and main street is just around the corner from it! We parked on the street, got into our room with the code they emailed us, and walked into town for dinner. The room is super cute! Nice modern touches all around. The walls are kinda thin, later in the night we heard ppl downstairs, it sounded like in the staircase, and it was pretty loud, but didn't last for long. The bed was comfy, they had dishes, mini fridge (no freezer in this room), and a convenient microwave. I did notice this hotel is listed on Redfin for sale ($4+ mill, I was just poking around Redfin and noticed the listing). Hopefully if they sell, the facilities will stay as nice! I asked the front desk and they have been open for almost 2 years they said. Looks brand spanking new still, especially compared to the historic buildings of Roslyn. Loved our stay here and would recommend to friends under current management! (which a friend did end up booking for a weekend because she saw my photos I posted on my IG hehe)
