If reviews were done solely on location,  Squaw Rock would easily get 5 stars- if you get a river front spot. The back spots are just that, back up to the highway. A few of immediate words that come to mind are sardines, packed, cramped, loud and lastly, poorly equipped for a RV RESORT. While you can't say the owners lie to get bookings, they certainly don't forewarn perspective customers. A few important things to know- 1. The dumping station is closed due to permanent tenants using the septic system. THERE IS NO sewage hook ups or dumping of grey/ black tanks. With that in mind there is 1 male shower & toilet & 1 female shower & toilet- for 50 RV SITES. 2. The website talks strongly about evening quiet hours- not enforced. 3. If you select sites 41 and higher and have a long rig, be prepared to maneuver. The pool fence and playground are right there and we watched folks try to get in for up to 30 minutes sometimes. 4. The sites are opposing pull in and back in so for example site 39 is pull in so sites 40 is back in, 41 pull in, 42 back in etc. They're is only ONE 30 amp power source and ONE 50 amp and it's first come/ first serve so have adapters on hand especially during the busy months. 5. The grassy trees area is far from true scale (much smaller) and is basically the dog potty.  Everyone brings their dog there to poop and pee so i wouldn't be crazy about trying to sit out there.  6. Tight streets inside the park especially when some sites have over 3 cars to them. Sites 31 thru 34 are not rv friendly.... maybe an R pod or similar but it's for tents. 7. Store staff are nice enough.  My check in went like this: ME -Hey there, I'm here to check in. Desk- And Me- and what? Desk- what's your name! I went to my site and there were 3 picnic tables blocking the back 1/2 of it so I went back to the front desk to ask for help moving them. I was literally told I had to move them myself,  which I did. I wasn't given the bathroom code until the day after check in and wasn't warned of no sewer hook ups or dump station being closed so it was already to late for me. I asked about propane and got, "As long as my guy is around. I'd make sure you got it during the day though." Store / check in building hours aren't accurate. Random open/ close.  This is a family campground and there are kids everywhere doing kid things so don't come here if you are seeking privacy and peacefulness. Bottom line is that this is not a "resort". Far from it. It's a camp ground so come and enjoy it with that in mind- or don't come.

The campsites were so close to each other, I had to listen to the guy four feet from my tent snore all night. The first night, they did not manage quiet time at all, people were still yelling at 12:30 am. The next night, one of the camps had at least 25 people at their site and were playing their music so loud it was deafening throughout the entire campground. We were 100 yards away from them and had to raise our voices to be heard amongst ourselves. The showers and bathrooms were disgusting. (At least the water was hot in the showers) The lake itself is very beautiful but I would highly recommend you find another place on the lake to enjoy the lake.

I appreciate the analog vibe and lack of digital appliances and televisions - it's a perfect place to retreat from our technology-saturated lives. I stayed here with my dog so I appreciate that El Nido is pet-friendly as well. Tieton is a wonderful, quiet farming town--not a place to visit if you need a lot of entertainment like bars, clubs, and theaters--but offers some great food, especially Don Mateo and Santos Bakery, and a small but lively arts scene on Fridays and Saturdays. There are some great hiking trails within a short 15-20 minute drive from town. This is a place I plan to return to as often to experience the peaceful vibe and the change of seasons on the sunnier side of the state. Thanks El Nido!

The Hosts (Anne and Nick) were super friendly and helpful making sure that we had firewood for the fire pit, setting up a propane heater for an additional warm outside spot. The cabins are close to several nice hikes and a couple of decent restaurants in town. I'd stay here again in a flash.

He said the crust itself tasted different than other pizzas and he loved it. They go heavy on the sauce. I enjoyed my shredded chicken nachos with freshly sliced jalapeños. Their jojos were gigantic! Try it with their fry sauce. Come eat here when you're in the area. You will not be disappointed!

It really didn't bother anyone in our party because we hadn't had phone service for days so with their WIFI, we caught up on our texts and emails. The sausage gravy appeared a little off putting at first but it tasted great! The chicken was crunchy delicious. The taters were ok and the eggs were great! 8/10 for that dish. My mother in law loved her eggs Benedict and had 0 complaints. But she doesn't usually complain. She did finish her plate! 10/10. The bathrooms are excellent here too but always busy as there is only 1 toilet in each bathroom. 10/10. Drinks were inexpensive and tasty!!! I'd definitely come here again the next time we are here camping. And again the service was phenomenal. Really friendly quick helpful staff.

We had a gorgeous view of the mountains and river. We arrived a bit late, but still had time to see the gorgeous sunset and get good food from the snack shop gift store. Just like many reviews also mentioned though, the customer service could be improved. We wish we would have been given a map of amenities and notice about the nightly s'mores reception. Luckily, we decided to stay at the resort for dinner and noticed the families and kids running around with sticks and s'mores supplies. This complimentary s'mores reception made our stay extra fun, but we didn't originally know about it. No one told us, so if we hadn't had down time in the lobby we wouldn't have known about it. We also asked for an 11:30 am or noon check out due to my mother 's mobility issues with her knees and my Hyatt status and were denied this. They wouldn't accommodate the request or come up with another option like watch our bags at reception. Housekeeping was right at our door at 11am pushing us out after we requested multiple times for a slightly longer stay. With my hotel status, I rarely have ever had a hotel deny a late checkout. We were checking out on a Sunday so we didn't think it would be an unreasonable request (like a Friday might be because of Saturday rush) to get a short extension of time. They have other amenities that we could take advantage of like a pool house recreation center but unless you stay here for an extended period of time, the staff won't tell you about it. You really have to study the website to see all the activities and lodge amenities. We did check out the pool center which was an added bonus. They do let people use it until 3 pm on check out day so that's an additional bonus. We decided to check out Swiftwater restaurant winery for lunch though and had a great flatbread pizza and wine. They honestly need more staff, but because of the remote location the staff is limited. The lobby area doubles as a lounge for the bar restaurant and the lounge would get dirty quickly with no one to clean it up. We loved our stay, but would suggest better customer service and more staff. Parking was also very limited on Saturday night so we had to use valet.

Unfortunately, after repeated experiences, it simply does not. As someone who frequently travels and dines at upscale restaurants and banquets, I can confidently say that what is marketed as refined here does not align with what is delivered. On multiple occasions, we found long dark hairs in our food -- including in my children's mac and cheese. This was not a one-time oversight. It became a pattern. Even more concerning, management-level staff with very long dark hair were consistently seen delivering food without it properly secured. When basic food safety standards appear optional at the leadership level, it speaks volumes. Beyond that, service execution is disorganized. Tables are crowded, and we repeatedly received incomplete settings or missing items -- condiments, steak knives, and at times portions of the meal itself. These are elementary details for any restaurant, let alone one positioning itself as upscale. The only bright spot was one blonde server named Sandi who handled the situation with professionalism and composure. She demonstrated the level of service the restaurant claims to embody. What ultimately makes the experience untenable is the atmosphere created by the head chef audibly yelling tickets and shouting at staff throughout service. A dining room should feel polished and controlled -- not chaotic and tense. After giving this establishment many opportunities to improve, we have decided not to return. High-end dining is not about price points or aesthetics -- it is about consistency, leadership, and standards. Those fundamentals are currently lacking here. Gorgeous place nonetheless.
