Charming cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Stopped in for breakfast to enjoy fresh food and great service. Excellent breakfast burritos! And the "lifeproof coffee" with cinnamon, coconut oil, and butter was both unique and super yummy. Shoutout to our server Sydney for being such a sweetheart, your kindness is exceptional and remembered in NY. Hope to stop by another time during our travels.

This place offers a juice bar and brunch menu. I wasn't blown away by the juices, and the service I received from a new employee was a bit of a struggle, but what I got was good in substance. Having learned that their salad special was pretty basic, I instead went with a wrap, which had tofu and greens with a zingy peanut sauce and some nice hash browns on the side. The menu had several vegan options and had acai bowls and such as well as lunch. It was pretty busy while I was there. Execution was not perfect, but to have found a tasty plant-based meal in this region counts as a win for me.

I have truly fallen in love with far western Virginia and all the amazing small towns just off of I-81, and Abingdon is definitely on my list of favs. And on my visit to Abingdon, I stumbled upon White Birch | Food + Juice and I am so happy I did! The Vibe: This is an Uber cute place with seating outside. I could tell alot of locals go there and hang out. Service: Service was great, super friendly and attentive. I got alot of great suggestions and enjoyed chatting about the area. Food: The food was really good. I had the Birch Power Bowl - Rice & quinoa topped with broccoli, chicipeas, seasonal root vegetables, dried cranberries, seasonal nuts, Ziegenwald goat cheese, and a maple tahini dressing. I also added avocado and a fried egg to the bowl. The bowl was super satisfying and delicious. My only "complaint" was the raw walnuts. I would have preferred toasted walnuts or another type of nut. I also had the Golden Milk Latte which was surprisingly delicious! (Wolf Hills coffee, house made oat milk, turmeric paste, agave cinnamon, coconut oil). A cool feature is that they have a full bar and some interesting cocktails. So if you are ever driving along I-81 and wondering where to stop -- head to Abingdon and stop by White Birch | Food + Juice. Date of Visit: June 17, 2023

This is a cute little restaurant that serves up food on the healthier side. The portions are a bit smaller, but is good if you are looking for something on the lighter side. I ended up getting their Thai Chicken Wrap. It was good, but could have used more sauce to really amp up the Thai flavor profile. It was more of a standard chicken wrap, but was still good. A good ratio between the chicken and veggies. For the side, I opted for the roasted veggies instead of the fries. They were good and well seasoned, but left me wanting more quantity wise. I also ordered a Greena Colada to-go since juices are in their name sake. Overall, a very clean and bright drink!

If your coming for hot tea, there's not much of selection... only the classics. Which for a juice bar I was surprised they wouldn't have a bigger selection. The Tumeric tonic I thought would be spicer and stronger since it had both cayenne pepper and ginger, but it tasted a little watered down?? It it was still a good little treat though. I don't know much about juicing only the one I've done and thought I'd get more taste. The service all smiles which is nice and you can tell locals like the employees cause there's great chitchat happening around. The vibe is friendly! I like!! The sausage biscuit with a poached egg and onions and mushrooms is yummy. The spicy country fries are wonderful though! So the proof is in the food part of food & juice for sure. I'm looking forward to coming here at night for an adult beverage and see what else they offer. Get here early for breakfast since there's not many places to have a good breakfast in town, it does get packed and it's a small, humble joint.

My friends and I brunched here on a cold, Sunday morning after an action-packed day at Dollywood! The café was cozy and warmed us up! I had an order of a biscuit with gravy with a sunny side up egg and potatoes on the side. The biscuit was soft and the gravy was well-seasoned and hearty. Good food and service all around! Something I'll have to get if I'm ever in town again is the Brew-La-La. I took a sip of my friend's order and regretted not getting one for myself! The house-made oat milk made the drink ultra special.

The service was polite and efficient. The food was fresh and tasty. The facility was clean and comfortable. The prices were fair. Loved the ambience of a small town cafe.

The Girl & The Raven has such a cool story behind it, and learning about the meaning of the raven in Native American folklore made the experience feel even more special. Then the food arrived... and suddenly conversation stopped because everyone was too busy saying, "You have to try this!" We ordered the breakfast bowl with sweet potatoes, arugula, and the famous hippy sauce, a gooey cinnamon bun, and the homemade daily biscuit sandwiches. Every single bite was phenomenal. The hippy sauce deserves its own fan club, the biscuit was flaky perfection, and the cinnamon bun disappeared so fast it should probably qualify as magic. Every dish was cooked to absolute perfection. You can tell it's crafted by Michelin trained chefs who know exactly what they're doing. Sarah Grace took amazing care of us. She was friendly, attentive, and somehow managed to make us feel like regulars even though we were just passing through. The restaurant itself is adorable, and the artwork covering the walls is stunning. We seriously considered playing a game of "How much luggage can we leave behind to make room for a painting?" If we hadn't packed the car for vacation, one of those paintings would have been riding shotgun all the way home. Come hungry, stay curious about the story, and don't be surprised if you leave wishing your vehicle had just a little more cargo space.

I was staying at a hotel just down the street and our experience was so good, My son and I had breakfast two days in a row here. Not only was Sierra and the team of people working the breakfast counter sweeter than the homemade jam, they were also engaging friendly and so kind to my son and me. Let's talk about the food. The homemade bread, perfectly cooked eggs, homemade local sausage, fresh local breads from the bakery around the corner, which I believe was Stick Figure or something like that, and probably the best pancake I've had in years. If you love breakfast- and I do not... you are not to miss this place. I must say that this May has turned me into a breakfast lover. Just a note, you'll probably wait an hour for a table... But the breakfast counter and community table are towards the back Thank you all! Hope to see you soon

Absolutely amazing brunch! I had the Watauga Sunrise (2 eggs, grits, sausage patties, and some…read moretoast with apple butter), and I couldn't finish it all, despite how much I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed a locally sourced tea, which was absolutely lovely. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and apparently all the ingredients were sourced from local farms and bakeries! The toast wasn't your average white bread you'd get in a diner, it was from Stickboy Bakery down the street. The sausage patties hands-down would have made this meal worth it, but did they stop there? Of course not! These grits were the most beautiful grits I've ever seen. I don't know what they're doing, but I love it! Their tea wasn't quite up to my standards, but they have a great selection. If I were them, I would skip the little French press thing they serve the tea in (it winds up with your second cup being steeped way too long) and maybe switch to a teapot or something similar. Also, I don't think they were using filtered water for the tea; it makes such a difference in the flavor. (To be honest, I had to leave my old tea place back in Virginia, and I am dying to find a new one here. And if a few tips help make me a good tea spot, all the better!) The ambiance was so relaxed. I loved the use of vintage mugs for the tea. Definitely a great place to stop by and read a book, or study if you're one of the students at the university a few blocks away. Service was delightful. I absolutely plan to go back!

The main building is a lovely and spacious modern inn that balances comfort and traditional elements with open and wide modern floor plans and bright spaces in a pleasing way while retaining the cozy fireplace experiences of more traditional settings. A first floor outdoor veranda opposite the main entrance stretches the length of the main building overlooking the well groomed hillside vineyards and a stocked, picturesque fishing pond. The hillside stretches up the horizon and with the westward facing veranda, offers stunning sunset views along with wine service. Below is a patio off the main restaurant and bar offering even more seating around fire pits with couches and Adirondack chairs with appetizer and drinks available for the bar/restaurant. We toured a king 2 room suite with a large sitting area separated from an equally large and well appointed sleeping area with a private large balcony that also faced the western sunset over the vineyards. The rooms were described as more akin to an apartment whereas the 9 onsite yurts accommodations were described more akin to a condo, described as pet friendly and a quiet community. Behind the yurts is a large barn structure that serves as a tasting room with an outdoor seating area with Edison lights strung around the overhang creating a warm space to enjoy the vineyards end production, currently nine wine vintages. Beside the main building are two much larger shaped yurt structures housing a full fitness center and a spa as will as an outdoor pool. We dined at Hickory for dinner and enjoyed their farm to table, Appalachia oriented menus. That will be a separate review but it hits 10/10 for hospitality, service, presentation and food excellence. We plan a fall trip for an overnight stay when the vineyards come in just before harvest to get the full experience! Also, we initially had a glass of their Chardonnay and being pleased with this, we opted to enjoy a bottle with dinner even though the wine list had equally excellent choices from familiar vineyards. This is highly recommended!
