Plus, they also have their own make up line so I could purchase products for touching up my make up through the tears and extending my spray tan. Eva gave me the exact haircut I wanted!! So many other salons in the past have missed the mark. I'm probably a challenging customer because I know exactly what I want and I'm very specific, but I don't always know how to describe what I'm going for. Eva asked all the right questions and was not shy about getting clarification before starting. This is the type of stylist I would follow to a new salon if she ever changed location. I flew into Nashville to elope and was recommended to try Harlow Salon. I did not get to do a trial run before hand unfortunately and I wish I had. I also tried looking online for makeup portfolios and couldn't find anything, another reason why I'm posting my own photos. This is their "airbrush makeup" and I had requested a natural look as well. I could go on and on, but the makeup speaks for itself. Would this have photographed well for my wedding pictures? Definitely not. Luckily I had enough time to wash it off and do my makeup myself before my wedding. I also want to mention I paid full price and did not complain. They know this makeup was not great as anyone can see that... someone should've stopped me from walking out the door on my wedding day looking like this. Complaining wouldn't have done anything but dig myself into a deeper hole. And I definitely didn't trust anyone there any longer to try and fix it. I have VERY challenging hair (super thick, naturally curly, kinky, frizzy, poofy, overall yuck...) and Shana is quite literally the only stylist I trust, implicitly. She not only has 20+ yrs experience (there's something to be said about that), she's also down-to-earth and easy to talk to, and her expertise is absolutely unparalleled! Over the years I've strayed for various reasons (relocation, laziness, general stupidity) and I regret it every time. Harlow Salon was great! A friend and I stopped in without an appointment when we arrived in Nashville for a weekend trip. Not only did they take us right away (a manicure for me, a blow out for my friend) but they did it with a friendly enthusiastic smile! My manicure was perfectly executed and very comfortable. We got lots of great chit-chat and some really useful recommendations on local places to go and eat during our stay! The price was very reasonable! I would say very cheap, but coming from Boston, everything seemed very inexpensive by comparison. So I can't speak to the usual rate in Nashville for salon services. I was nervous given that I had no trial beforehand, but it turned out to be the absolute best experience. I've been going to Harlow for about 5 years (my longest long-term relationship!), so I figured it's high time I wrote a review! Carly Rae is my go-to girl. She knows what I want when I don't even know myself, which is about 93% of the time. She crafts gorgeous colors and head-turning haircuts with ease. She's basically a wizard/goddess with a pair of shears. My blonde has never been healthier or more on point. THANK YOU, CARLY RAE! I also can't say enough about the rest of the staff. Due to a sometimes erratic work schedule and limited availability, I need to see another stylist. Well, after 5 years, I've successfully worked my way around to every chair in the building, and they're all extremely talented, kind, and accommodating. They're also very knowledgeable on out-of-salon maintenance (they carry my favorite TIGI products!), so I can keep my hair in tip-top form between appointments. Harlow offers cut, color, extensions, Brazilian Blowouts, makeup applications, blow outs, styling services, waxing services, and pretty smiling faces! I can't count how many friends I've sent their way that rave about them. You and your hair will be in great hands. Wow...I wish this was even a review of the bad haircut I got, but unfortunately it's worse. I'm new to town and found Harlow on the web. Made an appointment with Katie. I was there on time. Nobody greeted me at the desk, but Katie acknowledged me from her chair and said she would be with me in a minute. 30 minutes later, the other person was still in her chair. No acknowledgement of my wait...no offer to get me some water....nothing. I finally walked out. Meanwhile, some teen girls (who did not appear to be customers) were doing dance routines loudly in the front. Random and annoying!! The place was loud, the floor was dirty (not hair...I'm talking in the waiting area) and I can only say that my service experience was really bad. I rely on Yelp, saw Harlow's Salon with good reviews and only 1.5 blocks from the house my party was staying at. I was able to get a next day appointment, hair with Chelsea and nails with Kellie. Chelsea was great. She listened to what I wanted. Also, provided me with tips on how I can add more body to my hair. In addition, she explained what products she was using and why. Their staff has been wonderful since my first visit several years ago, and continue to be amazing! I have a crazy work schedule so I usually schedule a last minute appointment and they are almost always able to accommodate me. I never choose which stylist I get because I'm not super picky, and they have all been amazing!! I had Eva today and she was WONDERFUL. HORRIBLE customer service from the OWNERS! I had a reg stylist, Kendra that was awesome. She was working with me to grow out a bad haircut from a different place. She was GREAT! Then one day while being impatient, I had a different person out back in my hair extensions. It was one of the owners, EVA. Well, she ruined my hair. She did not know how to blend the fake hair with my one length shoulder length hair. She used her scissors and just cut. The end result, my really hair was butchered and so was the fake hair! I had to go back the next day to Kendra to fix it. Worse yet, when I sent an email to BOTH owners, Eva responded and lied and never did anything to make good of her HUGE mistake. I will never go back to that salon with owners that do not take good care of customers. I have spent thousands of dollars in that salon, recommended multiple girlfriends to them and this is the thanks I get! Botched up hair?!?! I am a single mom with no child support. I work hard for every dime and Eva can't even say she was wrong and apologize and refund the money for her wrong doings.
