I came in just last night to the airport and thought Portillo should be open and should have fairly fresh food since it's only 830. After peeling away the layers of plastic and cellophane there she was just a staring at me singing do wa Diddy.... Could've probably use a little more hot peppers since they charge $.99 now but you know let's try it. Lo and behold it was just like a 1979 beef sandwich from North Avenue. It was great. It was fantastic. I wish I could've eaten three but one was sufficient. This is the first positive review I have given Portillo's in probably 10 years. I don't know if it was a fluke. I don't know if they realize food portions are important. I don't know what the deal is and I don't care. All I know is it this store made that sandwich and that hotdog to the standard I've known hundreds of times living in the Chicago area.
