Because there are none within a reasonable drive distance of where I live, and I get a taste (crave, taste, potato, tomato) for them on occasion. I went through the drive-thru with my boyfriend, who ordered two chicken sliders. When we got to the window, we saw a young white male preparing orders and handing them off. Then, an obese Hispanic female approached the window. Although it was closed, we clearly saw her stick up her middle finger while the male employee shook his head and rolled his eyes. Despite this unprofessional behavior, we remained patient. However, a car pulled up behind us, and the young male took their payment while continuing to ignore us. It was our first time dining in at White Castle for Valentine's Day and my sons were excited! When we walked in it was a full house. It was beautifully decorated and they even had a Valentine's Day backdrop. They seemed to have goody bags as well but not sure if that was for everyone as we did not receive one. You needed to make reservations ahead of time on Open Table. It seemed like some of the staff was either new or just did not know how the Valentine's Day dining operated. They had the love cube on the menu and it was suppose to come in a cute box but they did not have the boxes made ahead of time. There were choices of sides too but I wasn't asked what sides I wanted. I heard multiple employees complaining about building the boxes as well. The food we ordered was just served on a plate and we received the box after the fact and I had to ask for it as well. I had to ask if our order was put in since another table received their order before us. Even my son was wondering were our food was because he was hungry. They gave coloring sheets but there were no crayons so they gave my sons pens instead. I felt like they were rushing us as well because I was asked if we were waiting on anything else, as a matter of fact we were! I was waiting on our to go order. However the food did not disappointed all these years of waiting I finally ate here. I would have given this place a 5 star but it smelt funky and is very out of date. OMG, it had been SO LONG since I had been to a White Castle! We only had a short time in the Chicago area, and stopping here was a 'must'. My favorite White Castle location in all of Chicagoland. They never mess up my order as I'm yelling it incoherently in their drive-thru during early morning hours. They always live up to the "fast" in the "fast food" label, even with a crowded drive-thru. IN PACKETS! I usually 'borrow' a dozen or so for those emergency situations when I need hot sauce at work or in the car. Major props to them. It's your typical White Castle - nothing out of the ordinary. We've stopped by here a handful of times on our way to or from the airports. One time we happened to order 60 sliders - per request of my brother - to take with us. I had ordered it on the app and was given a time for when they'd be ready. We showed up and had to wait about an hour after the scheduled time. I did understand that it was a Friday and they had other orders coming for 30 or more. What was annoying was that instead of making our order they were making others that were walking in after us - we were on a time crunch because we had a catch a flight.
