I...love...White Castle. I actually have a psychic connection with it. When I'm craving it, I smell it, which makes me crave it even more, and before you know it, I'm knocking down the Sunnyside WC doors, and clotheslining people out of my way. I don't like to raise a ruckus, but, well, it's White Castle, dammit! I've been to several WCs, and I must say that the Sunnyside one is pretty nice (but the one in Bayside is the best). It's clean. During the holidays, they put lights around the giant tree outside, and they hang onion rings on it (lights true; rings false - but I'd love to see that, and see a bunch of animals [and probably people, too] attack the tree), and it's nice to see when you pass by on the 7 train. Now people, WC burgers are called Sliders for a reason - they slide out of you as fast as they slide in. So, my theory is that your body doesn't even absorb any of its nutrients or lack thereof - ergo, they aren't bad for you! Eat as many as you like. Five gloriously vibrant stars for the creativity at White Castle corporate. The milk shakes are what happens when you get a Wendy's frosty minus the spoon.. it's like sucking chocolate concrete and I like that it. I get my rocks off on that. I'm also learned enough to know that I believe the onions at White Castle are what gives the food its high levels of radioactivity. I eat the burgers plain for the sake of humanity. You see, one morning after drinking and eating, reveling etc, I farted in the shower and had to abandon ship.. chemical warfare type stuff going on in there. My husband and I went inside to order, they were out of apple sauce and milk for my daughters meal, the guy taking our order was very rude to his co-worker in front of customers and he looked high. Belly Bombers are the cure to the hangover but the "side effects" can be troublesome the next morning. I walked in around 3 am in the morning of April 7th. The gentleman was very cordial and professional. It reminded me why i loved white castle burgers.. quick to get and good to eat. The service was great and the gentleman was truly a nice guy. I had a recent encounter at another white castle in queens on hillside ave. and 176th street where i handed the cashier a $20 and she gave me change for a ten. The service was unprofessional and the manager wasn't helpful at all with the misunderstanding. The reason i was still going to WC is because of the cost and you turn around and beat me out of ten bucks? Anyways the cheeseburgers was colder than the regular burgers and the establishment had a un welcoming atmosphere. No smiles..seemed like they were a lil angry i came in. It is true that people are generally willing to write reviews when they have terrible service. I am a big fan of White Castle. I have seen how they provide service at other White Castle locations - their smile, efficiency, their willingness to assist customers. I am not sure what truly happened to this one. I have been there at least 6 or 7 times recently and I never had good service. Rather their service is noticeably and consistently horrible. No willingness to assist customers. They just have customers wait around without taking orders while workers continue to speak with each other. I definitely recommend the corporate office sends a mystery shopper or someone who works at the corporate office go there to see how bad they are!! read more

Ahhh, affectionately know as "belly bombers", this fast food joint goes great after a night of knocking a few back. Warning though, this stuff is rough coming out. Make no plans the following day because you'll be making deposits. I have been going here ever since I was a child. Crazy thing is, some of the same people are still working there. Be careful though, sometimes you get some drunk troublemakers walking through the door. These guys don't know how to handle their liquor. They get that beer muscle and what not. Let's keep it real you don't come here for the atmosphere you come for the burgers lol. As newfound vegetarian I love their impossible with cheddar sliders! So yummy! This location is my fave in the city but they lose a star because they're backed up. Be prepared to wait because they're usually always short staffed and their drive thru lines are always busy. What annoys me is they always close out the right side of the restaurant super early in the evening to avoid homeless people from sleeping there but it isn't fair to paying customers like us who want to sit down and eat in.
