Yesterday I was wanting something different for lunch. Then I remembered there is a White Castle close to my work. I used to love White Castle back home (Indiana). I used the app & it was confusing as to how to pick the food up. I went inside because it said something about grab & go. I'm pretty sure I was to go through the drive thru, which I would have preferred. I had to stand in line behind multiple people placing their order. There was a special for $6.99. It included 2 new sliders, the garlic Parmesan crispy chicken sandwich, with a 5 piece mozzarella sticks & a drink. I got an unsweetened iced tea. The sliders were okay. They didn't have much sauce on them. They were dry without dipping them in ranch dressing. The mozzarella sticks were good, but the marinara was not good. It was really sweet. I wouldn't get a drink again since the unsweetened iced tea tasted like it had some sugar in it. It wasn't sweet enough for sweet tea, but didn't taste like unsweetened ice tea & I was the one who filled it. I'm sure I'll go back, but just get some different things. read more

Awful. Went on a Saturday at noon. Ordered ahead. Arrived to find a line of 12 people waiting at the counter and no employee helping them. Waited 15min and nobody ever came up to the counter. Multiple customers left after never getting service. There were three employees working and two of them were the cooks. Gave up waiting inside, went to get our order in the drive thru. Only three cars ahead of us. Waited another 20min only for the one girl handling orders to tell me that they don't have my order. That's when we gave up at left. This place is junk, I only hear bad things about it. Terrible management, or just zero management. Go anywhere else. read more

I was born and raised in New York. White castle was and still is my favorite!! I've been to this location several times. Things have improved since opening. Today I went again. For diner in we got 2 double burgers and 2 breakfast sliders. Husband said his breakfast sliders were the best hes ever had. My burgers were room temperature, I was very disappointed (but ate them ). I would of just did a to go order if I wanted cold food. As we're leaving we got a 20 burger cave pack and none of them were hot. Please, plzzzz fix the problem I drive all the way to get fresh hot food and a box to take home not room temperature. I was not aware of a second White Castle location until today. I was in the area so I stopped by for lunch. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The service was a bit slow because only one person was serving the restaurant and drive thru while two others prepared the food. My two double cheeseburgers were pretty good and the fries were hot and crispy. Much better than the frozen ones you can purchase in your local grocery store. read more

Nostalgic little sliders with grilled onions that are reminiscent of those late night munchies. Customer service is friendly, and the inside is clean and well maintained. Food tastes good. It's pretty much a fresh version of those microwaveable variety bunch. The app needs some polishing and refining. They have some great deals every once in a while! Chicken rings are an interesting concept. This review is for the Tempe location. Workers are happy to help with a smile. They have 2 drive through lanes, but the AI SERVICE is so slow and terrible. I hate leaving bad reviews, I'm a huge food fan and wanted to like this place after not trying it for quite awhile to see if things were any different. I was so bummed that the food quality is just no good. Those little cardboard burgers are flavorless and they soak the buns in grease. I will say the fries were good and I'm not a fan of crinkle cut fries. The service was ok but the help was super load in the back and just messing around. This location in Tempe is low rated, but I've been MANY times in the last year or so and it's been about 80% good experiences. The staff is mostly nice, outside of the guy who is both built like, and kinda sounds like Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks. I don't like him. He's also mean to his coworkers. Anyway, this location singlehandedly has me liking White Castle, for what it's worth. I only went to Vegas locations before and hated them. But Tempe treats me well. My sliders are always fresh, always tasty and always good. They're a bit slow, but they do their best here and I notice and appreciate it. I could have had White Castles just by going to the frozen food section at the supermarket and put it in the microwave. Some guy in the kitchen has a deep voice was very loud and it shouldn't be heard in the dining room The only plus about this trip was the dining room was very clean. Hot steamy sliders... back in the days it was the hotness. Nostalgia moment more for me, but the sliders are solid. I highly recommend using the app to get some in-app offers. The drive-thru line was long, so I decided to come inside and kill some time. When I walked in, I saw about 4 people sitting and waiting for their orders. That's when I knew there might be a bit of a wait. They have the Freestyle Coke machine, but it was not delivering ice consistently. Funny thing, when I was using the app, it said the machine at my location was not working... that was a first. I went with the Cheezy Meal via the app that included 4 slider cheeseburgers, small fries, 3 mozzarella sticks with sauces, and a small drink ~$6. The food did take longer than expected, but I noticed that the people in front of me ordered the big boxes of like 30+ sliders. While in the area, I stopped here for dinner since I was hungry & had not been to this new location. Very nice & clean restaurant. Really helpful, knowledgeable employees. Restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day, looks fantastic. I ordered the Fish Sliders, fries, & a drink. The sliders weren't that great, unfortunately. The fries were cooked just right luckily. We had always heard about White Castle burgers so while n a road trip we saw the sign and made a U-turn. Interesting little burger . The meat is steamed and is no wider than1/8 of an inch. I live in Napa, but grew up in Chicago, so I'm quite familiar with WC. Favorite after the bars close. Things have changed since I last visited. The sliders were just ok. I recall they put the brown mustard on before they handed you your food, 1 negative, I ordered 6, 3 tasted fresh and 3 felt like they'd been sitting for awhile, 2nd negative. WC has always served frozen French fries (I'm a fresh cut fries guy) so no negative but they were hot out the fryer, so 1st positive. The staff were super friendly and helpful, 2nd positive, place was clean and bright, 3rd positive. All in all, not a bad visit but not a great one. I'd still go back if I get the urge. read more

Hadn't had a White Castle hamburger since 1960 when my folks moved from Michigan to California. We left Fox's cigar bar and headed to the Tempe location. The place was nice and clean. We ordered the 10 burger package which came out promptly and with a smile. The bun was fresh steamed and the burger with pickle and onion was what I remembered. It is nice to have another White Castle location in Arizona. When they opened the first location in Scottsdale, the lines were crazy long for months. The wait wasn't too bad when I stopped by here one evening. I tried my first official White Castle years back on a trip to Chicago. According to my Chicago buds, the microwavable WC burgers in the freezer section are not the same and don't count. I enjoy putting down a few of these little square-shaped sliders from time to time. I have never fully understood the White Castle hype other than I remember seeing the comedy movie based on it years ago. White Castle first opened over a hundred years ago. Sliders were only 5 cents back then. We have tons of mid-West folks that reside here in the Valley that enjoy having a little taste of home here in the Valley. This location is located off the I-10 freeway near IKEA. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious and has a drive-thru. I have sampled a number of items off their menu over the years. The food isn't bad and many people that I know go nuts for it. Go big and get a Crave Case of 30 sliders in a convenient cardboard carrying case. read more

Growing up in Chicago I've been eating at White Castle, my entire life. I've eaten at this restaurant at least a dozen previous times. I have to say that this was probably the worst experience I've had. My sliders and onion pedal chips were lukewarm at best. The ice machine was out of ice. On my way to Ikea, I needed a bite to eat otherwise I would have ate my weight in Swedish meatballs. So, I popped into the drive thru lane at White Castle. 6:40pm on a Wednesday, about 4 cars ahead of me. First: they "updated" the order screen to an AI. I ordered the Combo 1 - 4 sliders, fry, and, drink (replaced with the onion blossoms). I asked for it plain. Then the AI told me they don't allow modifications. Ok, no biggie, I can make do with pickles. Second: the Karen in front of me raised hell. She apparently wanted TWO combos for the discount, but wanted water for the 2nd drink. Uncertain why they couldn't give her the combo discount, but she sure did raise hell! Then she poured out her water in the service drive creating a slip hazard. Third: the service person asked if I ordered the chicken. I said "no, 4 sliders, onion blossoms and a drink". They rung me up and I continued to wait. The gentleman ask if I was waiting on the chicken! I said "no, the 4 sliders, onion blossoms and drink". He didn't see my order. The service clerk from earlier apologized and explained that the chicken is what was ordered. I explained that stupid AI screen sucked. They apologized and said they'll take care of it. Can't believe I'd ever complain about a COMPUTER on Yelp. Shortly after, I got my meal....20 minutes from ordering. Meal wasn't very hot at all, but they did provide what I ordered, including the chicken sliders (so extra food). Uncertain if they were short staffed or just crazy busy. Very nice looking store from the inside and out. Definitely fresh and clean. We were excited to try them for the first time. There were 5 people working, and when we got to the front of the line (about two people in front of us, with 5 people already waiting on food and some drive thru), we were asked to wait for just a minute. That was fine, we were in no rush. The kids were excited to try something new. 13 minutes before they came back to us to take our order. 7 more people behind us now. We ordered our food (one person got 8 cheeseburgers and another got the 10 burger meal with 20 chicken rings and sack of fries), and grabbed a seat. After 35 minutes I went to see how long it was going to take. I looked at the screen and the wait times were crazy. We were 3rd in the queue and were at 34 minutes. The older lady who worked there was working very hard and trying to get caught up. She was trying to get the boards moving, trying to get every food item done one at a time. But she had very little help. It seemed poorly ran. After 13 minutes of waiting, ordering, then 42 minutes of waiting for our order we were finally served. The food was good. But the taste was worsened by our overall experience. That older lady is the only reason this is higher than a one star. 3.6/10 won't be back to this location. read more

This is the third White Castle I've visited. The first was in Missouri and was really good, the second in Vegas, it was a close second, and now Arizona! Wow! Was all I could say when I saw White Castle included on the freeway food exit sign; so I followed the signs to the restaurant. A 10-slider special was posted on the window, so we went with that and a sack of fries. Perfect size order for our little family at great price. The lady working the register was very nice, as was the manager who helped her figure out how to ring up the special. The sliders were very tasty, grilled with the onions then served on the small, soft buns as they do. The crinkle cut fries were hit and fresh. Nothing to complain about here. The place is relatively new, as such it's not old fashioned at all. The decor and furnishings are pretty contemporary. All in all I was pleased. We were driving from Phoenix to Tucson and wanted aquarium quick bite before we hit the road. I had never been to a White Castle so that's where we headed, deciding to eat in the restaurant rather than going through the drive thru. We ordered a number 1, a chicken ring slider, a large onion chips, and a large drink at the counter. The person taking our order was nice and got the order taken quickly. That's where the quickness ended though. Our food took 30 minutes to be ready. People from the drive thru were walking in complaining of the extended wait. When we first arrived there were two families ahead of us. By the time we got our order the restaurant was full of people waiting on food. Our sliders were hot, but the one I had had a very soggy bun. The fries and onion chips were cold, and I had to go back in and wait to request ketchup. We ended up in a crowded and slow White Castle-the food was not good enough to make me want to go in again. This one is even better than the Scottsdale location! It's cleaner, the wait isn't nearly as long, everything is organized, and you can get your food in a timely manner. Also worth mentioning is that you can hit up Ikea and buy some bubbles at Total Wines first before picking yourself up a snack for the drive home. At the end of the day it's just fast food. Gee is it just me or am I missing the whole White Castle idolization? I'm not from the Midwest, so I'm definitely not one to compare White Castle locations but these small, boxed, thin meat hamburgers didn't impress any of us. The three of us tried the panko breaded fish slider and their famous cheese sliders but weren't wooed. The meat wasn't hot and the french fries were soft not crisp. The best thing was the custom self-serve coke freestyle soda machine. I've encountered these cool dispensers at other places and like the different variety of mixes you can create. This White Castle location single-handedly saved the brands image for me. The only other time I'd tried White Castle was in Vegas and it was so darn awful I'd vowed never to try it again. I just couldn't fathom the hype. Well during an IKEA trip I noticed this new location had recently opened up, and on a whim, decided to give them one final chance. And boy am I glad I did because it was actually very good. I got my sliders with the jalapeño cheese (I personally think it needs cheese, I imagine it's bland without). The sliders were fresh and flavorful. The fries were crispy and salty. The chicken rings were okay. Probably wouldn't get those again. It's not fine dining by any stretch. And don't expect the best burger you've ever eaten either. But it's just so good for the price and the fact that it is fast food after all. You've won me back White Castle. read more

When I do get an order it's great. But I have had a LOT of apps try to pick up from this location and cancel once at the establishment. I've had one driver express, they take so long to make the order, it isn't worth waiting around. Honestly fair. When I do get orders they are always great!
