    Mango Sticky Rice(fresh mango)

Their Thai desserts were so good! I love that the mango sticky rice uses slightly savory flavor for the rice. The taro pearl in coconut cream was also slightly savory too which really cuts the sharpness of the sweet flavors. Coconut cream flavor is strong, which is a plus. The coconut pudding has a slightly sticky rice/pudding on the bottom and coated with coconut oil, it's really flavor and good texture with the two layers. The baked taro pudding cake is probably a good option for older folks, it feels simpler, less oily/creamy but has a rich taro flavor, while still soft but has more fibers. All the desserts were so good. We came here just for these lol.

White Crane is starting to become one of my go-to restuarants when I have no idea what to eat. Love the ambiance and decor here. They have ample seating and the noise level is perfect for conversation. Some of my favorites here are the vegetable green curry, hainan chicken and their sushi rolls! Service is always amazing, they check up on you and water is always filled. My husband's favorite is the pad prik khing w/ crispy pork & egg. All of these dishes taste very authentic and delicious. We've never been disappointed yet and hope to continue to be loyal customers.

    Tom yum soup (tofu)

** Take out review ** I was craving tom yum soup and decided to grab some from white crane. Their online ordering system is user friendly and easy to navigate. I ended up ordering tom yum soup with tofu, a side of rice, and crab Rangoon. The portions are on the smaller side for how pricey it is. I specified the time I was hoping my order would be ready by but it was done 30 mins earlier than I wanted. I was bummed about this since I felt rushed to get there and didn't want my food sitting out for so long. I think because my order was sitting in to go containers for a while this caused the crab Rangoon to no longer be crispy. Going forward I'll make sure to not order anything crispy for take out and get it while dining in instead. Flavor wise it was OK. The tom yum soup was tasty and the perfect amount of sour and sweet. I appreciated that there are other veggies (bell peppers and tomatoes) in it aside from just mushrooms. Other places I've been to they only have mushrooms as a veggie which I find underwhelming. Thankfully that is not the case at white crane. The fish sauce was a little too generous but other than that I really liked it. The atmosphere is casual. Dress up or dress down, whatever look you choose is fine! There is indoor and outdoor seating.

The food is good at reasonable cost though the portions are limited. We ordered noodles low spicy and fried rice medium spicy but felt the spice level was same for both items that was on low end. The service is okay since we were 6 people and gratuity was already added to our check. The waitress was slower to meet our needs though it was not crowded. The ambience is good for a Thai restaurant at a great location.

Great tasting food. Excellent service and a very beautiful place to eat at. The mango sticky rice is a good dessert, mango though is not fresh but frozen and yet still tasty. Shumai is the best

Causal little place. A coworker and I decided to celebrate an end to a long week. We ordered a lot. . . Pork gyoza - ok Egg rolls - ok Edamame - ok Shrimp Shumai - first time having this and I'm still trying to figure out if I liked it. Massaman chicken curry - I like it! Spicy Pacific deep fried roll - very tasty. Her entree was spicy basil with ground chicken and a fried egg. Looked interesting but not for me. She really enjoyed it. Our server did have a challenge with splitting the bill or understanding how to apply the cash then charge the card. I wish I would have visited here earlier in the week cause I would have been back every night to try more rolls.

My friend and I tried this Thai Restaurant (new to us), and wow! Food was delicious! Service was a bit slow but all in all solid option for Thai Food in Naperville!

Uhhh my wife and I paid $18 for khao soi and $17 for khao mun gai. My wife said the Khao mun gai was... average, and my Khao soi was decent. Really quite overpriced. The food wasn't quite filling enough. The most important thing to note is that we both got bad diarrhea the next day. We didn't even try each other's food! We independently got food poisoning from different dishes. Service was decent. But I won't be back.

I have already given White Crane a 5 star review. Haven't visited in awhile. They are still doing a great job. This time we ordered something different -Green Curry with chicken and Pad Prik Khing with crispy pork. Both were excellent! I don't know which I liked better! Both so flavorful and more than plenty for two people. White Crane has yet to disappoint.

Absolutely--here's a shortened version of the review that keeps it casual and hits all the main points: A Relaxed Spot with Real Thai Flavor White Craine Retro Thai & Sushi is a great little find. The vibe is a mix of old-school Thailand and modern cafe--bright, clean, and comfortable with fun retro touches. The service stands out. The two young ladies working there are always smiling and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. It gives the place a really warm, friendly feel. The food is solid and leans more traditional than most Thai places around. They've got dishes you rarely see on other menus--like BBQ pork over rice, rich boat noodles, and a flavorful northern-style Khao Soi. Everything I've tried has had that real, home-style taste. If you're into Thai food and want something a little different (in a good way), definitely check this place out.

Chicken Pad Thai $15.16 with tax as of 3/9/25

I ordered Pad Thai for takeout over the phone and I got a text 5 mins later that my food was ready for pickup. Pickup was a breeze and the staff were polite. The atmosphere looked modern and clean. This resturant is in a strip mall with other restaurants. The development looks relatively new. The pad Thai portion was generous and the flavor was pretty good. I love pad Thai and would have liked a little more tamarind in mine but that's just my preference. It filled my craving for the night and I wouldn't hesitate getting it again if I was in the area.

This has always been a super solid location until a year or so ago. They changed chefs or something and the food started tasting different. Not bad necessarily, just not as good as it was. Fast forward to present time, this location has randomly closed again without any notice for 8 months. They finally re-opened this week under a new name "Joy Yuan" but inside is exactly the same. Still extremely stark, sterile, and depressing, but it still has Joy Yee branded plates? It's a little confusing. Half of the boba menu is crossed off now too. As for the food, I'd say it's mostly the same but the won ton soup took a turn for the worse. The broth almost tasted dirty oily and burnt but the wontons themselves were good. Usually the broth is super savory and garlicky, but that was not the case. We also ordered egg rolls and the size and presentation of these has changed at least 3 times since they first opened. They're big again but have that odd burnt/oily flavor to them. The chicken fried rice remains the same, the orange chicken was good as well and we decided to try the mixed mushroom chow fun which everybody enjoyed. I was also happy to see that they had the mango passion fruit freeze (add strawberry popping boba) that remains the same and is delicious. I need to try the traditional milk teas to see if they're still the same too. Service is still the same with a lot of the same staff still working there. It's not good but it's not bad, they're just efficient. This isn't a sit down place where you're catered to if that's what you're looking for. I don't know, I'm torn about the new ownership or whatever they did under the new name change. The food seems the same for the most part but it's also not at the same time. Our experience wasn't bad, and I'm willing to try it again but it seems that this place has lost its spark.

This one's building looks like a beautiful lodge. While there is an online Yelp waitlist (that goes up to 6 people), we had a party of 8 so I called the restaurant and they were happy to put my name down for a reservation. We came to celebrate my dad's birthday. We brought a cake to share, and when we arrived, our server was gracious enough to store it in the fridge until we were ready. We had 6 adults and 2 kids. Kids under a certain height (I forget the details exactly) are free. So we didn't have to pay for the little ones, and not like toddlers appreciate hot pot anyway. It was more, "how do we make sure they don't touch the pot?!" which went totally fine. It's to position the high chairs the furthest away from the knobs/hot surfaces. On our end of the table, we got the half-half broth of classic marrow and the gold cabbage marrow. The golden marrow was SO GOOD. I would get this again and again, because it's hot/sour; the flavor of pickled cabbage and the spice of Szechuan peppercorns. Our server said the spice builds over time, and it did. It was so flavorful that I barely used my dipping sauce. If you like hot/spicy and sour, choose this broth, it is DELICIOUS. The sauce station and the prepared food buffet was located in the middle-back of the dining area. It's a little packed and cozy in there, especially during the dinner rush, you may need to wait a little longer or keep an eye on the area to determine when to get out of your seat. This same area has self-service personal ice cream cups, soda, additional toppings/veggies/proteins, buffet (fried rice, fried chicken, egg rolls, fried buns) AND the sauce station. What I did love is there was a gentleman who was making balloon animals/hats/characters for sale near the front of the restaurant. He says he does this occasionally when he doesn't have other gigs like parties or weddings, etc, so my kiddo and my niece each got a cat and a bunny, respectively. This made their day! And it was nice for them not to be strapped into a high chair the whole time, and have something to entertain them. Overall, 4 shining stars! It would have been great if they had private and semi-private rooms like the Bridgeport location, but I think this wasn't possible due to their building. It looked like they took over a from a Mangia Bubala Roadhouse (Italian and Jewish fare) which took over from a Connie's Pizza. This place has gone through some changes, but it looks like Happy Lamb will be there for the long-run.
