They're Baaaaack!!! You know it's good Asian food when ... there are all Asians eating theremyself included Get the Boba stay for the Korean BBQ

Caramel Milk Tea
Anita P.

Joyyee used to be my go-to spot for boba about 5-10 ish years ago when it was one of the only boba shops in Naperville. The quality is more or less the same as it was back then and is just generally average. I usually get the taro or caramel milk teas, which you definitely can't go wrong with. One thing I did notice is the prices have increased dramatically (mine was around $7). I'd say it's ok to go here if you happen to be in the area, but so many other places have opened in Naperville at a better price point for the same quality so this wouldn't be my first pick.

"I came to this location one time but it was decent food. The boba tea was tasty and pudding was fresh. I ordered bulgogi with rice and chicken/shrimp with rice in pineapple. Portions were sufficient for two people sharing. Service was good, they got our food out fast. Prices are good with some increases due to covid - supply and demand. Adequate parking. It was easy to find a table to sit down and eat. The menu has a vast amount of different dishes separated by sections.

The food here is pretty mediocre here. It's ok for a fast meal in a pinch but it's not good quality here. Out of all the times I've been here, The service is unprofessional to say the least. Quality- the hou fun was very salty and the vegetables are tough to bite into. The meat was also chewy so it takes a lot of chewing to get through it. The shrimp fried rice is standard....Nothing special. Quantity- an ok amount comes for the price. You will get full for a low cost. Atmosphere- I hate the chairs and small spacing between tables. Not enough personal space or outdoor seating. Service- one time I came here over the weekend to get lunch with a friend and the manager (larger 6'+ asian guy with big belly) would constantly pester us to leave because we overstayed our welcome. His reasoning is because we finished eating and aren't ordering anything else. We were only there for an hour and ordered two dishes and boba. The food/boba was good but the demeanor of the staff ruined our experience. We were asked to leave every 5 minutes after 30 minutes of being there. Next, they declined to give us water and then they thrusted the checks in our face while we were still eating. When we paid, we sat there a bit longer to finish the food and it was then we heard the manager start complaining about us not leaving in another language (cantonese) to the waiters. Because of this poor service, I left no tip for the manager which pissed him off so he forced us out of the restaurant. There was also no line outside so I don't understand what the rush was. We weren't rude or loud at all. We sat at a small table and just chatted while eating food. There were people there that were much louder than us but also understandably paid more. Regardless, this is no way to treat paying customers.

Fast service!! A gigantic menu with pics in the front and delicious drinks and food!! Love the place!! The garlic noodles were really flavorful and the drinks are so bright and pretty! Nice bright clean look inside and sunny yellow chairs.

An incredibly good place for strip mall Asian cuisine. It's not quite authentic but it's kind of close enough. Joy Yee Noodle has a few locations, including this one in Naperville. It has many favorites such as the bubble tea and has pretty good food. They have the best prices with the lunch specials. Come in at lunch and save a bit. It's when we came in the last time here. The menu is full of typical Americanized favorites, but don't let it be a turnoff. A lot of great stuff is here. The best items may actually be the teas. I most like the Apple Cooler With Lychee Jelly. It's about $6 for most teas. They also have smoothies if you want something to drink even colder than that. Both of us got the Orange Tofu lunch special the last time here. It's about $10 for a lot. This comes with a few vegetable potstickers and rice. It had a moderate spice to it. This was a nice amount of food for a lunch. Best time is at lunch where you get the best prices for the most amount. It has locations in Chinatown and UIC, which are good too if those are convenient. They mostly have the same menu at these.

Joy Yee is a good spot. I've visited the Chinatown location many time before, and this western suburban location has definitely made it into our dine out rotation. Joy Yee I've always found to be a good value to the money. Portions are generous and you will go home with leftovers. Whether you're in the mood for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, or Japanese, Joy Yee has a bit of everything on the menu. In addition to a large menu, they do also offer an impressive selection of drinks (milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothes). My personal favorites here are the udon noodles, any of the lemongrass meats, and their coffee milk tea. Service is quick and tables seem to move swiftly even during peak hours. Plenty of choices. Plenty of food. 'Til next time, cheers!

Left to right: beef fried rice (with a left over 001. Crab Rangoon), spicy beef stir fry, sweat and sour chicken, and pan fried noodles.

I had Joy Yee in down town Chinatown Chicago and it was so so good! The dishes always come out fresh hot and soap fast: service is always good! This location was no different! Was in town for a week and met up with some old friends! We ordered sweet and sour chicken, beef fried rice, crab rangoons, pan fried noodles and spicy beef stir fry. All the food was perfectly cook and so so delicious! Especially the pan fried noodles! Crispy and fresh! We ordered boba on the way out and it was the icing on the cake! Will be back!

We came here for dinner one night when we were craving pho. The flavor of the pho was really something. It's seasoned just right. The portion sizes are very large which was really nice. The service was fast and friendly. There is not an abundance of ambiance here, it is bright and open but feels very clean and still private. We will come here again for sure.

Joy Yee in Chicago was one of my favorite places to go to when I first came to Chicago. I have branched out quite a bit since then, but I'll never forget my first love for Joy Yee. This location is still the same quality and service but in the burbs. Of course you have to get their fruit drinks and teas. I love the brown sugar milk tea and a good mango lychee fruit freeze with grass jelly. When it comes to food, there's so much to choose from, so it really comes down to your preferences. They have chinese, thai, and some other asian cuisines, but Joy Yee is Chinese at heart. Try something different than the American Chinese food! If you have taste buds, you won't regret it.

Ask the Community - Joy Yuan Noodle

Are they open on Tuesdays or no? Their website & Yelp says Yes but Google says no.

Does anyone know if the drinks are made with regular milk or has dairy?

Depends on the drink! But if you order bubble milk tea they only use regular 2% milk.

Last time I went to the taqueria I noticed that a new restaurant was in the works, all the way back behind the bakery. I spoke with the lady and confirmed it was going to be pan-Asian food and all halal! She told me the opening date was November 1st. Today I stopped in, and sure enough it was open. The lady (who I believe is Yola) told me they planned to rotate dishes and will include various Asian dishes, like Thai food. Today they had fried rice, crispy noodles, shrimp, fried chicken drumsticks/wings, chicken lollipop, and diced chicken & potatoes. They even had duck! It all looked good, but I decided to try fried rice with the diced chicken & potatoes, along with a few pieces of chicken lollipop (which is like fried chicken on a stick, or bone). I brought the food to my parent's house for a family dinner. I really enjoyed the food. The fried rice wasn't out of this world, but the chicken lollipop was really good and the chicken & potato dish was pretty good. I love Asian food, so I'm stoked about having a halal option. The food was sold by weight, and I feel we got a decent value. This isn't a place you can go to for a nice dinner out, but a good takeout option. Looking forward to trying other dishes here.

The ube cheesecake didn't have the blueberries on there, as the photos suggested it would, but still tasted great. The chocolate peanut butter cake was also good, but wasn't considered a favorite. Our server Ayden was helpful and got our food out quickly. His service was pretty good and he was friendly. This was lively for a night that was -10 Fahrenheit! It was so busy, so that tells you it's a great restaurant, and I agree.

We tried a mix across the menu, and what stood out right away was how many dishes can be made vegan, which makes it a great option for vegetarians or mixed groups. A few must-tries for me: * The Thai wrap -- DIY style and easily one of the more fun dishes on the menu * Red curry * Curry fried rice * Basil dish The papaya salad was also really well done and worth ordering. Portions here are generous -- most mains are easily enough for two people, so it works really well if you're sharing across the table. For the amount of food you're getting, pricing felt very reasonable (around $20-30 per person when sharing), which makes it a strong value spot in the suburbs. It's also on Resy, so if you have an Amex Platinum or Gold card, you can use your dining credit here. Overall, a solid pick if you're looking for flavorful Thai food with good portions and plenty of vegetarian-friendly options in the Arlington Heights area.
