Grandma went to White Emerson but Rose Hills never heard again from White Emerson. .
    Jacqueline W.

My grandma died in OC CA in 2018. It was the 8th relative we expected to be buried at Rose Hills together with other relatives. It was also Christmas and the family member who wrangled control of decisions stated WhiteEmersons had a family emergency and nothing could be done till after the new year. Then we were told the ashes had been buried at Rose Hills. Then a headstone was placed at my grandmas grave but grandma did not appear on the " find a headstone registry". When I contacted Rose Hills they said they are waiting for my grandmas remains. It been 2.5 yrs and she has a headstone but it says grandma died cenotaph Cenotaph means no remain to bury or buried in a different location. Why would a funeral home notify Rose Hills someone died, then not take the person there? White Emerson has denied my grandma her last wish to be buried with her humus and, siblings and her parents at Rose Hills.

I've never had to actually make arrangements or handle any funeral or burial arrangements, but I have been to White Emerson for 2 funerals and also listened to my mother over the phone, on several occasions with Paul, after losing my amazing grandmother in December 2020 during the Covid pandemic. So tender, so gently handled, and such care is given in each situation. Thank you White Emerson, for being great humans and helping and caring for those that are grieving and hurting just as you would with your own family. I felt I should give a review as I know how delicate each of the situations were handled. Thank you.... thank you.

Where to even begin, I lost my best friend, my everything, my mommy on the 24th of June 2020 unexpectedly. She fought for over two hours but the doctors said there was nothing they could do. Our world came tumbling down and I have never felt more lost on this earth. The social worker quickly handed me the paperwork and asked that we take our time in deciding a mortuary as my mom passed in the hospital (PIH). I thought of rose hills given the popularity but one of the nurses suggested White Emerson. I trusted her in that moment given her sincere tone. I can't even begin to describe how thankful we are for that suggestion. The entire process, Richard, the person managing of the establishment along with Dan and Emily were a dream to work with. Richard has the sweetest voice and you can truly feel his warmth and empathy for families. The process was quick as we hoped and they were extremely accommodating despite current COVID restrictions. We had a very intimate ceremony with 25 people and they also hosted a Facebook live event for viewers at home and overseas. Price is not a factor when it comes to a loved one; however their prices are very reasonable and discreet in the sense that nothing was mentioned until after we handled everything the day of. Without a doubt, I'd recommend this place to anyone. That says a lot being such a sad, morbid time for my family and I but this place cannot go unnoticed. Thank you and many blessings to your entire staff.

When my sister died my brother and I decided to have White Emerson take care of her for her funeral service due to their high ratings and reviews. We wanted nothing but the very best for her as we loved her so much. We are glad we chose White Emerson. They have a wonderful team that will help you every step of the way and they are extremely professional and caring. We had the pleasure of working with Crystal, Kyle, Richard, Abby, Kelly, Trino, and Dave. Crystal was working front desk and was the nicest person and super compassionate with us. Kyle was our funeral director and he took great care of us and made sure our sister was honored and respected our every wish. He offered us his personal cell phone and made himself available to us the entire time. His soft spoken and caring demeanor made things so much easier for us. Richard was another funeral director that we had a pleasure of speaking to when we went in for a private viewing they provided us. He is a very compassionate man. Abby was also front desk and was great when we called with questions and she helped us with our sister's obituary. Kelly was the experienced embalmer that made sure that our sister looked her best and even honored our wish of painting her signature heart under her left eye. Trino and Dave were the all star team that made sure the service and burial went as planned. They took care of our 100 guests and made sure we had everything we needed, even a last minute extra table for food. Dave traveled with us to the national cemetery and was with us until the very end. I have nothing but great things to say about White Emerson Mortuary and their team. The made this difficult time of grief much easier on us with their assistance, empathy, care, and professionalism throughout the process. They have an spectacular team that will help you take great care of your loved one. I cannot recommend them enough when it is time to say goodbye to those you love.

From the very beginning, your entire team demonstrated an incredible level of empathy, respect, and grace. The discreet and gentle way you handled the transition of my mother's body from our home was something I will never forget. It was done with such dignity, peace, and care--it felt sacred. You honored her life and our grief with silence, presence, and kindness. Every step of the process--from our first contact to the very final details--was handled with thoughtfulness, patience, and a genuine sense of compassion. In the middle of sorrow and heartbreak, your team provided a sense of calm and guidance that helped hold us together. A very special thank you to Marco, who truly went above and beyond in every way. His warmth, sensitivity, and deep professionalism were a light during a dark time. The way he supported us felt as if he were arranging his own mother's services. His care was personal, heartfelt, and deeply genuine. He made things happen for us quickly and smoothly, catering to our needs and rushing processes so we could focus on honoring and saying goodbye to our beloved mother with grace and peace. Only thing I would recommend is a better place to serve coffee to guests in the large room... & better options on coffins when renting to cremate. There are no words that could truly capture how much your service and presence meant to us, but please know that we will carry your kindness in our hearts forever. With endless gratitude, Maricela Rivera Luna & Family

At this age, I thought about my own past priorities never being late to school, being a friend protector, and other things that young mind's think of when they're young and their mind is still fresh. My grandmother use to walk me or drive me to school. She started driving me to school when her feet started swelling up really bad. In an unexpected panic myself worrying about being late to school didn't think of the thought of my grandmother's fall at the front screen door pulling the front screen door with her as she fell to the floor. She got up and walked to the bedroom where I sleep now. She laid in the bunk bed's that we had at the time when there was 7 of us living in a two bedroom house sharing one bathroom. I remember her trying to die at home. My grandfather was born in the 1800's when the western dirt road's and train track's existed. He spoke pure Spanish but actually understood English. He would mumble to me jokes in Spanish and he would laugh at me when I would try to understand and repeat what ever he said in Spanish. Although, I never caught on to learning his Spanish. My father came from a family of seven learning how to survive for himself while his father was a doctor. He went to school to learn Electronics, worked at several airplane companies, joined the military and made it a career for 22 year's, and worked at another aerospace company for 20 year's just before getting sick. His father had been a doctor during the Holocaust. His father had to use his doctoring knowledge to prevent himself from being taken to the gas chambers. He befriended the Germans and was lucky. He saw when the families were being separated and forced into the gas chambers. I would have to say that I'm half like my father more for thinking of the most important priorities to be done first. I learned what it's like to have to save money when money is tight and doesn't seem right. I think that I would be a good provider and a trustworthy person having experienced and seeing a lot while I was growing up. I started attending Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead when I was in my early twenties traveling on the Montebello 40 bus that would leave me in front of the Montebello Mall, then I would take the Montebello 70 bus that would leave me off right by the cemetery. I didn't have the best equipment at the time, nor did I have the money to really buy the flower's. So, I would attend to the grave yard with what I had to clean around the graves of my grandma, grandfather, and now since for four year's now my father. I had to organize a routine that would help me finish a grave faster. After I would finish. I would just sit on the grass for a real long time in deep thought. I have developed my own set-up of decor to leave at each grave and never come back for it, some skill's, a routine that work's, and my own assortment of tool's through out the year's that I have been attending the cemetery for my three loved one's. I love going to the cemetery and having the feeling of peace with myself. But, what I don't appreciate is the desecration of my three loved one's head stone's that were never scratched until now . Please grave yard maintenance worker's. Please be more mindful to our dead loved one's grave head stones. You would not want the same for your loved one's. A second would be some of the security guard's that act more superior than their pay grade and power. Would it kill you to show us some courtesy and respect. Some of you will walk up to me because I look more masculine than anything though I'm 100% by birth female not by transformation and tell me that I need to leave. You will threaten me like ICE threatens immigrants. And, the third would be to the visiter's like myself that attend the cemetery caring these big lawn chairs, big ice chests, and have children that they can't control running around the grave yard like a park. I have a deep appreciation for all the loved one's buried any where and everywhere. Be mindful when laying your gear out to make camp at your loved one's grave. Try not to step on grave stones as well place unnecessarily item's on other loved ones grave stones to use as a table. I enjoyed my day on Saturday, 05/16/2026 when I came to the cemetery and the cemetery was fairly filled. The cool afternoon air felt exuberant. I was able to tend all three graves fast enough to still have time to take in the beauty and time to have a moment with each of my loved one's.
