It's odd, giving a 5 star rating to the worst experience a parent can experience; but from beginning to end and everything in between McAulay and Wallace and everybody on their staff seemed to do everything possible to minimize the pain. This staff finds a way to maintain absolute professionalism and somehow balance empathy and compassion. Of course, I don't wish this on anybody but if you are unfortunate enough to need their services, I can only give them the highest praise and strongest recommendation. We had my dad's Memorial service at this mortuary. From the beginning of the process to the very end, the staff was very helpful and made things less stressful than they needed to be. The staff was very professional and efficient. Our father passed and was apart of the Navy so was laid to rest in Riverside. When the hearse arrived it was immaculate and the captain who was going to be presenting the flag to our mother was so impressed with how the flag was laying on my father's casket. It was pristine with no wrinkles. The captain had made a remark that he had never seen a flag laid out so respectfully, so I really appreciated that attention to detail. My grandfather passed away in Orange County last month and the plan was for him to be buried on the east coast. McAulay & Wallace handled everything locally and I just want to express how grateful we all were to them, especially Suzanne. Upon meeting her, I immediately noticed her calming demeanor. She was very compassionate, knowledgeable and had incredible follow through. We had a lot of moving parts with family coming and going, plus moving my grandfather to another state, it was just a lot and she stayed on top of everything and in communication with us perfectly. I had to let the front area know about the lack of toilet paper in the restroom. There was a lot of people, so I was surprised about the lack of stock. It's expensive here, fyi. Starting with working with Zach Bassell who had a very professional but not overly endearing demeanor. Very informative and experienced. When we were undecided about something he would make a valued suggestion from his experience. He was very helpful in every way and this whole process was plain easier with his help. The chaplain Greg Anderson was exceptional as well. The staff present for the viewing were very helpful and polite and looked sharp and respectful for the occasion. The mortician did an exceptional job making my mother look very beautiful and peaceful... a lot better than when I last saw her. My last sight of her was more positive and peaceful. M & W made me feel relieved that I opted for open casket, and that it was the right choice. They all did such a wonderful job; And also for my grandmother back in 2018. I couldn't imagine a better mortuary out there despite the grim circumstances of losing somebody. read more

Incredibly disappointed at what I thought was a good, dedicated business. My wife and I attended a memorial service this evening, and only about 1/5 the people in attendance had COVID masks on, and there was NO social distancing. My wife and I are both in our 70's and both have health issues, and therefor COVID-19 plays a great threat to us., There was a nice little sign on the door that said that face masks are required, but not a soul said a peep to anyone who wasn't. My grandfather passed away on a Sunday. We were frantically trying to put together plans for a service. We called on a Monday and the woman at the front desk was surly, supercilious & extremely unpleasant. My brother had her on speaker phone & my entire family listened to her sarcastic, unfeeling & blatantly condescending answers to what, we all felt, were pretty basic questions. It is hard enough when a loved one passes away... the last thing you need is someone who can't be bothered to help you, but more importantly can't be bothered to even be polite. I would never use this company, and I sincerely hope that if you are dealing with the loss of a loved one, that you don't either. We used New Options Funeral Services (714.528.7100) & the woman who helped us was wonderful. She answered all our questions and worked with us to get my grandfather taken care of. read more

This is so unprofessional the Female that answered the phone in this funeral home stating she's the actual director is very RUDE . I had a delivery going to a deceased and me knowing it's coming from he's little gril made me want to go beyond . She said deceased was not at her facility and was at a inglewood park in inglewood and to figure it out . She couldn't help me in locating the service adress . Customer says it's in this location yet she refuse to take the standing spray and not giving me anymore information . She claims to be a director but can't handle a simple task? She kept saying she's not 211 and being rude . Now the little gril won't be able to give her dad her farewell flowers do to her lack of help . Some ppl shud not work in a place we're is needed to go above for ppl in mourning . She would not give me her name as well . Please fix ur customer service . read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE WHATSOEVER. my grandmother passed away recently and all we wanted was to have her remains cremated. they quoted my mom $1450. it seemed high so we looked at a couple other places and they quoted us $650 and under! it's not right to overcharge people that are grieving and sad and taking advantage of that. Please look elsewhere to have your family members cremated. this place is taking advantage of people!! we went to chapman funeral homes and they were super kind and gave us the right and fair price. also opened up the place on a Sunday to accommodate us. do your research and don't let places like this take advantage of you! it's so wrong on so many levels... read more

Steve in the Yorba Linda office was so helpful and so empathetic. He handle both my mothers and my fathers mortuary needs and partnered with Holy Sepicur Cemetary and did an excellent job. From the ladies that retrieve my parents remains one at memory care and one at the hospital were respectful and yes really empathetic. I highly recommend Mcaulay Wallace , it's difficult enough to lose a loved one without having to deal with a hard sell or someone who is just trying to get through it. We used M&W for my grandfathers passing in 1989. I was very young then, but only remember my family saying good things about them. When my grandmother passed in December 2012 there was no hesitation to use M&W again. We spent about $7000 on the whole thing. They still had my grandfathers info on file, so we were able to follow the same arrangements that my grandmother had made for my grandfather. They were so loving, respectful and nice to be around. They work in a hard business with people on some of the worst days of their lives. They made us feel heard and like they really cared about my grandmother and us, too. We had the service at the funeral home. We had a nice reception with sandwiches that we had catered from Ralph's. So many people told us how nice the location was and how smooth the service was. All thanks to M&W! They thought of everything and it all went smoothly. The plot my grandmother and grandfather had/has is at Loma vista. We later found out that they also have all the same services as M&W. Could have done everything in one location. With it all said and done, I would not have done it another way. So grateful to them for all they did for our family in our difficult time. Would not hesitate to recommend them over and over. read more
