Sometimes you need to try a few cleaners until you find the right fit for you, but once you do, it's hard to leave them. A friend recommended this housecleaning service to me when I first moved to NYC. I call them once every month to 2 months. We've gotten several different people, and the quality has been fairly consistent. Some have been more thorough than others, and we've had one subpar experience - the cleaning lady didn't completely dust the place. They also call to follow up to see if you have any input or comments. In general, the employees have been polite and professional; a few have been brusque, but none have been outright rude. One or two have quipped that our apt looks like we clean it every 2 years, but I figure that's my issue more than theirs... A few things to note: Price used to be $22, but not it's $25 per hour, with a minimum of 4 hours (so total of $100 minimum) + tip. I've found that 4 hours is enough for my entire apt (2 bedroom), but YMMV. Also, they expect you to have your own cleaning supplies, including paper towels, bathroom solvent, 409, a mop, and preferably, a vacuum. I've never asked them to come on a weekday, but they start at 9am on Saturdays and 10am on Sundays. read more

Spring has rolled around yet again and yet again I have called White Glove to come and clean my apt. In addition to the bi-monthly cleaning i use them for, four times a year they come in and do the heavy duty which in the end isn't so heavy duty since they do such a great job! I don't always get the same cleaner but no matter who shows up in the end the job is done right, the apt smells clean and until they come again I do my best to keep it that way. read more

I have used several cleaning companies in the past, with some degree of satisfaction, but when a friend suggested White Glove Elite, I never looked back. The booking staff are extremely conscientious and work hard to work around my difficult schedule, follow up with phone calls, and address my specific needs for each particular visit. I have had a number of cleaners sent to me, and each one has been hard-working, diligent, and motivated. They have proven extremely cautious around my "breakables," so much so that I am totally comfortable leaving them unsupervised. They, in fact, supervise themselves with great efficiency. They are excellent, excellent cleaners. The price for this product is remarkable, would be remarkable anywhere, but for NYC is really quite extraordinary. I have recommended this company without reservation to dozens of friends, always with a flurry of positive feedback. I just recommended them to a client of mine two days ago. I have used this service on and off. The service is very inconsistent. I have had one or two ladies who were excellent...and then suddenly they are not available. Then, you have to get used to someone else. Most of the workers had complaints about my cleaning products because they liked certain ones...ok, well, that means I had to run out and buy certain products so that the apt was cleaned properly (very strange). Also, if you request someone, it takes the service 2-3 days to get back to you to see if they are available which is also annoying because by the time you need someone they usually aren't available. read more

After using individual maids who were unreliable and showed up on their schedule and not mine, I looked into Angie's List and decided to try White Glove Elite. They are very professional and respond promptly to my emails. They didn't have any problem with me providing a list of what I wanted done, including laundry. After a few tries, I found Cynthia G. who is an excellent cleaner. I love that after only a few times, she has figured out what I like and how to prepare my apartment for guests, and then how to clean when the guests leave. I appreciate that she thinks of extra things to do on her own, rather than following only the list she has. It is great to come home to a clean apartment after a vacation! Since my last experience, I managed to find an email address and write my complaint to the company. I received a prompt response from the owner, Mr. Ireland who apologized for the bad experience I had and offered me a free 4-hour cleaning session with one of their cleaning stars. I was impressed with his response, and attention to customer satisfaction alone, which is very rare these days. I took him up on the offer and cashed my credit in last week and I couldn't be happier. The cleaner was phenomenal and I can FEEL the difference! I held back giving that last star as I find that the service is more expensive than what I am usually used to and I can't afford to schedule a cleaner on a more regular basis at this cost but I am very happy with the results! read more

I have been using White Glove for many years. I started using them only occasionally, and every time i had a new cleaner they did an excellent job. There was always great follow through from the office to find out how everything went. Also there was never any pressure to rebook, just a simple reminder that they were there when we needed them. I love our cleaner whom we have worked with for the past few years. He is hard working, reliable, smart, funny, and like family. He goes out of his way to do things needed for our house that we don't even know needed cleaning or rearranging. He is so handy in many ways and knows what chemicals to use and when, and even helps with our garden. We are so happy we found him and love working with White Glove Elite. They used to have a guy working there who was also an actor, who did a stupendous job cleaning my place. Since he quit working there I have had no luck finding another conscientious employee there, I have tried a couple of times and both times they sent fat lazy women who wanted to clean my place with feather dusters (believe me, that was not sufficient). Not recommended any more. ADDENDUM: Thought it would be helpful to post this Yelp Conversation I had with the owner who denied my ever having used them in comment below. (I use Joanna's Cleaning Service now, no problems with them, highly recommend.) Dear James, It is odd that one of your responses says you can't find me in your database, yet the other one says that you know who I am and that the actor cleaner who attended Harvard and used to work here until his career took off is still working with you- that is inconsistent, and also false, since he assures me that he no longer works here.
