Our first time there and we will definitely be back. Everyone's food was excellent and served piping hot. Our waiter was very nice and efficient. The only drawback was the check in. Im giving it four stars because the hostess was a bit rude to everyone and kept yelling at everybody to wait outside. She told people she would come out and get their names and in the meantime additional people were getting in line and getting ahead of the people that had already been there and told to get out of the building. You have to stand in a long line to give your name and then told to wait in your car with the window down so you can hear your name when they call it over a bull horn. They need to come up with a better system. Other than that minor thing I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We just went to the farm stand shop/breakfast place. The food was good. We got breakfast sandwiches and apple cider donuts. However, our orders were wrong. I am not sure how anybody gets their own order. While they take your name and give you a number when you order - they don't use either when actually giving you the food. You would almost never get your right order unless you are the only one in there. read more

Soooooo good! Every time we visit the North Conway area we make this restaurant a must! It's not a cheap meal but between the service and food it is worth every penny! Last night my husband and I went rogue and ordered mainly seafood. We had the tuna crudo- delicious, wonderful beet arugula salad and salmon and scallops entrees. What a find. I have driven past this place so many times, and it's exterior does not give away the secret contained within. Modern contemporary take on American classics, set in a quaint rustic setting. Who'd have thought fine dining could be found in this part of the New Hampshire back country. We were a party of four and were seated in a nice private corner of one of the dining areas. There was a very creative cocktail menu from which we all ordered. The dinner menu offered up some unique appetizers, of which we chose the charcuterie board featuring local meats and cheeses. Excellent! The entree menu presented modern takes on Tomohawk Pork chop, Duck breast, sirloin steak, chicken breast with wild mushroom and a few others. I have to tell you, I was taken aback as to the skill level of the chef. Crispy skin on the duck breast, and perfect temperature inside, the steak cooked exactly to order, the flavor profiles of the accompanying preparations complimented everything perfectly. The wine selection was simple but classy. Then the staff. Happy to meet us and explain the dishes in detail. Offered recommendations and were excited to interact with us. One of the best dining experiences I have had in a while giving any major cities best a run for their money. I will come back! read more

We LOVE it here. The vibe is always the coziest and the food is delicious, well balanced and unusual. This was our we find time and it was our dinner for NYE, we were pleasantly surprised with the great live music they had, that's unexpected and just made the ambiance that more special. The only two draw backs from our experience this last time was, the hostess is a little rough around the edges but a woman who I believe is the head chief was so pleasant it made up for it. We come up to Bretton Woods every year and this is my new favorite- soooo delicious. We had the crab cakes which are a classic and staple here, we learned. The outside crust is definitely different but I highly recommend. My boyfriend got the scallops and I got the pasta with broccoli and chicken- both very good. I got the pasta bc I had noticed that although the menu changes, this pasta seemed to be a staple- I reheated it the next day and it was still very delicious. The dessert tho, warm donuts with caramel and ice cream- save room for dessert bc both of us almost considered reliving the dessert experience, it was that good. Disappointing.....This has been one of my favorite restaurants and one where I make reservations as soon i know we'll be in the area. This time it was disappointing. My drink wasn't smooth, the crab cake appetizer needed a little more sauce, and my meal wasn't quite what I expected. I ordered the veggie lasagna that was supposed to be layers of potato, veggies, and cheese. It was mostly cheese and i could only eat about 1/4 to a 1/3 of it. I told the waitress that I couldn't eat it. The worst part was that my husband nearly choked on the husk in the yucca that came with his dinner. Though the owner/chef did come out and apologized, she only comped our two drinks (his beer and my cocktail). We'll be back in the area in the winter but won't be going here for dinner. read more

We traveled from Los Angeles (where ALL of the good food exists....I know, I know....we're snooty and insufferable) and my wife and I were BLOWN away by how delicious this place was. From the cocktails to the main courses, everything was incredible. We came back the next day to grab lunch and buy some baked goods too. We are making this a stop every time we are in town from now on. Order anything on the menu, it's all delicious! We've yet to have a bad meal and I doubt we ever would. We just enjoyed a phenomenal meal at the bar courtesy of Ben, tonight's bartender. I have a dozen annoying dietary restrictions and requests, and he made the evening so relaxed and accommodating. The kitchen offered me rice-flour-battered, pan-fried calamari in lieu of the menu offering, which would have been in the regular fryer (with gluten exposure.) I was so impressed and if it weren't for a new and completely restrictive medical diet upon which I'm embarking, we would enjoy meals at the bar regularly despite our 90 minute commute to and fro. As soon as you walk in the door all the amazing smells hot you and tender you unable to actually decide what you want (could have ordered 1 of everything). We are visiting from out of town this is our first time in the area and we were truly disappointed at this location I wanted to experience local food the service was absolutely horrendous I ordered a hamburger which tastes like a hockey puck and my friend ordered the chicken which she could not chew it was so dry when we got our food it was not hot but lukewarm and we waited a long time for our food while people around us who had just sat down was getting quick service. Hopefully the next location we eat is much better than this we will not be ever coming back here read more

We ordered takeout on a busy holiday evening. Not only was the staff accommodating but very friendly and the meal was prepared quickly. We had the bao buns, homemade bread and whipped honey butter, skillet beets, duck entree, cod entree, and the mushroom pasta. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. Great casual night out when you're in the area. The food here is definitely the star! Setting is just average, but it is a relaxed atmosphere with "foodie" food and casual offerings alike. The dates with blue cheese are a must!! Drink menu is definitely on the more adventurous side, but there are also all the regular offerings including, of course, hard ciders. Service was very good, although we did wait a few minutes to be seated even though it wasn't very busy. Overall a great dining experience and we will certainly come back when in N. SO GOOD. I love that I can go up this way and not have to eat at a chain. We started with Polenta Fries - crispy on the outside, deliciously creamy on the inside, with a indian-spiced tomato chutney. Also tried the olives and marcona almonds, which arrived in a lovely bath of primo olive oil. The bread was warm and hearty. I had the entree special... it was bacon-wrapped venison with a red wine and horseradish reduction, arancini, and green beans. Cleaned my plate. The venison was a leg steak cut, and it was cooked medium rare. It was the most tender, least gamey-tasting venison I have eaten. It was perfect, with a good-quality, nice thick bacon, and sliced and fanned on the plate. The arancini was more of a cake than the traditional ball, but the risotto inside was creamy deliciousness and it was fried to a nice crispy finish. Fresh green beans perfectly rounded out the plate. My partner had a Korean Short Rib sandwich and fries, which he very much enjoyed. We were too full for dessert, but the table next to us got warm fresh cider donuts, and they looked SO GOOD.The meal was a little pricey for this neck of the woods, but totally worth it. Go. We knew this place was good when we saw that there were no available reservations. My boyfriend had called the market and they told us it we got here right before they opened we would be able to grab a spot at the bar. My boyfriend and I got there about 10 minutes before and waited by the door and by the time the placed opened there was a line behind us waiting! The place is cute and you really feel like you have the servers full attention. My boyfriend and I loved everything we got. This morning, my GF decided to stop and grab a couple of breakfast sandwiches on our way out to do a little hiking in the Notch. Got a standard-issue sausage/egg on a bagel, and it was amazing. So good, in fact, that on the way back after getting off the trails, we decided to stop again for a late lunch. The brisket panini was so good I actually opened Yelp before I had even finished. Furthermore, I didn't eat the sandwich right off the grill (which would probably have been even better). It traveled very well, and was still excellent back at the motel room. Naturally, we grabbed apple blossoms and fritters on both visits, and they practically ate themselves. :-D read more

To put it simply, White Mountain Cider is one of the best places my fiancé and I ate at during our stay in the North Conway area this past Memorial Day weekend. Absolutely nothing here was disappointing. I had two cocktails, the Sails Up! and the Cidertini, and both were worth the price. The Cidertini was definitely worthy of the name "signature cocktail," as the flavor of the cider was put at the forefront of the drink. For our appetizers, we order the cheese and charcuterie board as well as the calamari. Both were amazing and I could not pick a favorite. The cheese and charcuterie board was full of interesting flavor combinations and unique flavors, with the sweeter flavors playing well with the duck foie gras sausage that was included as one of the three meats. The calamari had a very interesting flavor profile to it thanks in part to the rhubarb in the sauce. Our entrees were equally interesting and delicious. I had the seared scallops with leek risotto and my fiancé had the porcini dusted chicken and pasta. The scallops were nice and tender, perfectly cooked and seared and had a tasty sauce paired with it. It was served on top of some delicious leek risotto that put all other risotto I have had to shame. The chicken was also very good, with the pasta tasting freshly made and the porcini cream sauce bringing the whole dish to life. To finish our meal, we did opt for some dessert. I enjoyed the maple panna cotta while my fiancé had the warm cider donuts and ice cream. The maple panna cotta was served with cinnamon apples on top and sugared orange peels. It was light and very enjoyable, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to finish their meal with a lighter fare. The cider donuts were nice and crispy with a cinnamon sugar coating and tasted like they were freshly fried. More often than not, I find myself struggling to finish dishes. I had no trouble finishing anything here. Everything was perfectly portioned and so delicious, I found myself feeling a little sad when my plates were clear. This place is also beautiful on the inside, with a comfortable rustic feeling. The granite tabletops are a nice touch for such a wonderful restaurant in the Granite State. Our server, Jeremiah, was a pleasure; as was the woman who showed us to our seats (whose name I didn't catch). Any time I visit the North Conway area, I will come back to the White Mountain Cider Co., without any hesitation. Terrible service. Poorly prepared food - first I had a fruit sticker on my salad. Chicken salad was bland and chicken dry and tasteless. Pork chop was bleeding both near the bone and also away from the bone. Waiter insisted it was normal. Kitchen seared it and brought it back but it was still bleeding and pink. I didn't take photo of the first round when it was bleeding but the blood was spread a penny sized. At the end it was obvious that we didn't eat any more of the food. Waiter didn't mention. Waiter offered us dessert but we didn't want any- not after having sent our food in twice. No offer of lowering the price and we didn't want to me untasteful to ask even though my husband only ate half the pork chop. We've had many pork chops before and this has never happened before. Best restaurant in the White Mountains hands down! I've been here 3 times now and each time has been excellent. The service is top notch. Cocktails are great. Zucchini fritters were the best appetizer, and shrimp cakes are also very good. Scallops were as good as I've ever had, it was my favorite. Beef tenderloin special and strip steak are also excellent.
