We used the yelp app to make reservation. It really worked well. We were a little disappointed to see that burger and a beer night is not happening g on Mondays. We still order burgers. Joyce got a salad and I got the chips with our burgers. We were also disappointed that the cider donuts with icecream had shrunk so much. The food was terrific. Ben our waitstaff was great. Great Cider and wonderful food. Came in for breakfast and had the cider donuts, fritters and a breakfast sandwich before heading to Mt Washington. Yum. My in laws have a condo in Bretton Woods so my husband and I visit the White Mountains several times a year. I try to squeeze in a meal here at least once every visit! I haven't tried everything on the menu because I tend to stick with what I love: the cider mill salad (which is only $4 for the half-size) and the porcini-dusted chicken pasta. It is so simple but unbelievably good. The pasta comes with delicious fresh green beans on top. They had a red pepper ratatouille soup with Italian sausage as a special, which my husband ordered, and loved. He would have gone back the next day just to get another bowl of soup. The hamburger is great but BIG, and I actually wasn't crazy about the pulled pork wrap the one time I had it. The chips are a terrific appetizer, although a huge serving, so we never order it when it's just the two of us. On a busy weekend, reservations are a must. We've tried without one and couldn't even find a spot at the bar. Try the cider house...you don't want to miss out on this place! read more

This restaurant is such a gem. They really elevate classic dishes with a culinary twist that will blow your mind. We have been many times and my wife and our kids(age 3, 5, 7) can't stop talking about it. On our recent visit we started our visit with a cup of spiced apple cider. It was like biting into a fresh apple dusted with cinnamon.. To begin we chose the lobster risotto with vanilla butter. There were massive chunks of perfectly cooked lobster in a rich and creamy risotto and the vanilla butter enhanced the flavor while giving it an earthy taste. One of my kids' favorite dishes was the warm Brussels sprout salad. It was a chiffonade of Brussels sprouts with shaved celery root and walnuts with a brown butter dressing. The flavors were clean and simple but the combination of it's component and the temperature of the dish made these sprouts sing in your mouth. The calamari was delicately battered, coated with an Asian influenced sauce and jullenned fried parsnip and carrot. The calamari were cooked to perfection. The marriage of the parsnip and the slight sweetness of the sauce was pure delight. For our main course we had the smoked salt rib-eye steak, the pumpkin ravioli and the mac & cheese. The Steak was a perfect medium rare and just melted melted in your mouth. It was served with silky mashed potatoes, delicious greens and a molasses sauce that was slightly sweet and tangy. The pumpkin ravioli was my favorite. The pasta was was delicate but had a great bite to it. The sweetness and the spices of the filling were perfectly paired with a rich cream sauce. The vwhole was topped with a Parmesan/Pecorino wafer with pumpkin seeds in it that was a pure delight. They also serve a casual dinning menu where you will find the most delicious Mac & cheese. Al dente cooked pasta smothered with a beautifully balanced mix of cheeses topped with crunchy golden bread crumbs. For desert, room or no room, you should order the cider donuts. An order comes with 2 warm, fluffy, spiced donuts, vanilla ice cream and a decadent caramel sauce. My only regret is that I had no more room to eat anything else...I soooo wanted to try their duck confit on crispy pollenta. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The service was very prompt(we were in and out in about an our and a half) but not rushed. Also the prices are extremely reasonable. The restaurant is only open nights, but during the day their deli and country store situated next to the restaurant is open. You stop by for the intoxicating donuts and hot cider. They also make the most delicious sandwiches and salads. A can't miss item is the Caprese Pannini served with home made chips and the cider mill salad. While you're there you can pick out frozen items like crab cake and some bacon jam...yes bacon jam. In a sea of sub-par restaurants chains, The White Mountain Cider Co. is a beacon of local and seasonal foods and of what all restaurants should aspire to be. read more

Wow. The food is so good! But the name is misleading they do not make hard cider here in case that is what you are looking for...but after the meal we had...who cares :) There was nothing available on YELP reservations so I called to see if they could squeeze the 4 of us in at 7. A lovely woman got us a table over the phone-keep in mind there is a $25 reservation fee held by a cc. Our reservation was a little mixed up when we got there but it was fixed quickly! We got the mussels special and calamari as an app, delicious...the mussels were tiny but so sweet. For meals we got the scallops, wagyu beef w/chorizo, chicken special with faro and feta salad, and chicken with mushrooms over orichetti. We each tried each other's meals and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch! The chicken was perfectly cooked in both dishes as were the scallops and my very picky 19 year old college boy said his wagyu beef was the best meal he ever had. And then dessert... Please if you do nothing else in life get the cider donuts :) Added note while waiting for a table try to listen in when the door opens to the kitchen...the chef was very Gorden Ramseyesque :) This place is definitely worth going to... read more

Although the service was excellent and friendly, the food itself was highly overrated given so many positive reviews from Yelp. Yes yes, I may be considered a snob since I hail from SF and now live in NYC, so perhaps my expectations were too high. The warm brussel sprouts salad seemed over wrought with cheese and something that could be prepared at home. The gratin had fresh produce, but the fingerling potatoes could have been roasted more; but the slaw that came with the gratin was overly salted. The seared scallops were pretty decent and balanced. Our apple crisp had waaaaay too much cinnamon, yet the homemade buttermilk ice cream was pretty tasty. Cocktails were strong as hell, so I suppose a thumbs up on that. What a gem, just past North Conway, NH. Small place with limited seating so if you're planning to go on a Saturday night, reservations are a must! I made reservations on a Monday and the only seating they had open was at 5pm so we took it and so glad we did! There was a line outside the door when we got there - waiting for the place to open! All people hoping to get a seat at the bar because they couldn't get a reservation. The bar was full by 5:15. We started off with their fall calamari appetizer which was AMAZING and by far the best dish we had all night. Next was their charcuterie plate. Two of the cheeses were really good, but everything else on the plate made it hard to justify paying $18. For our main dishes we got the lobster risotto and ricotta gnocchi. The risotto was good, but not great as the lobster meat was all claw meat and didn't taste fresh. The gnocchi on the other hand was really good, great flavor and cooked to perfection. One last note, you need to give a credit card to hold your reservation and if you don't show up, they charge your card $25 per person on the reservation. read more

We had dinner last night at the White Mountain Cider Co. I am not one to often leave reviews but our dinner was so great I had to share. There were 8 adults with us, which is not an easy size group to accommodate on a busy holiday weekend up here. The food was amazing, and very original. Several of us are pretty decent and creative cooks so we are not that easy to please. The service was great, the atmosphere was great and we had a separate seating area up in their loft away from the rest of the diners which was probably a good thing because we were not quiet or on our best behavior. Overall I would very much recommend trying the white mountain cider co. I would probably not recommend it for families with children as I know my children wouldn't have found anything on the menu they would eat, but it is a great spot for a couple of for adults. Hands down wonderful! I agree with another yelper, if I could give it six stars I would. I'm a foodie and came to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends from out of town. We were directed here by a local and yelp backed up the recommendation. Fabulous food and excellent service for our party of 10. Lovely atmosphere very New England and rustic chic. We were seated in a separate area just for our party that was inviting and intimate. Food and drinks were wonderful. We ordered the duck, haddock, scallops, filet, pork, and filet special and there was not one single complaint to be found, only praises. Foodies visiting, you will not be disappointed. My friends and I went to grab some cocktails after a long day hiking. I was expecting something like a place where you could get a fancy martini, or mixed drink. I was dead wrong. The drink menu itself is a small piece of art. Between two boards, bound with rope, hide page after page of the most exotic and delicious cocktails you've ever heard of. The bartender, was super knowledgeable, friendly and took the time to explain each of the exotic ingredients. The presentation and service brought high class to the mountains. We wanted to sit outside, and the servers said it wasn't a problem. They went and cleaned off the tables right away. The contrast of the beautiful NH outdoors, and the metropolitan cocktails sat well with me. I was really happy that my friend introduced me to this gem. I'll be visiting here every time I head up to the mountains. The drinks aren't cheap ($10/each). But we weren't pinching pennies, and had plenty of Bud Lights back home. Having gone to Mountain Moat earlier in the day (which was very good all around), we thought we'd hit the height of quality dining in the area. Until WMCC... We got here by sheer accident, and were pleasantly surprised by the warm, rustic, elegant atmosphere. We didn't have reservations so hung out in a comfy seating area until something opened up at the bar. I wasn't very hungry so sampled around the house salad, my bf's burger/fries, and cocktails and beer. Everything was exceptional, the bartenders were knowledgeable and committed, and the barfolk around us were laid back and friendly. Highly recommend: - The burger (bar menu only). I don't eat meat so can't be sure but my bf is a burger fiend and raved. The fries were outstanding. Prices were amazing as well. - Cider-tini. The only way to have an apple-tini without the shame of having an appletini. Seriously, a very nicely spiced, warm and crisp drink without being overly sweet. Still regret not ordering the scallops. The perfect quick stop when foliage peeping up in the white mountains of New Hampshire. Such a cutesy environement and they also have a walk up deli with sandwiches and other tasty treats. Made with organic ingredients. It is definitely a tourist trap but surprisingly the line moved along quickly and it is worth the short wait. Just ate lunch at the deli, which is not the actual restaurant that so many people rave about. It was NOT a good experience. To start, they were out of turkey and mixed greens for salads. That meant 33% of the menu wasnt available. We ended up getting a walnut and apple chicken salad but the guy forgot to add chicken. We also got a grilled chicken sandwich and the guy forgot mayo. The food we did eat was no better than supermarket-made food. The chicken reminded me of the chicken Burger King uses on their salads. The deli/store wasnt even really attractive inside even though you would think it would be. For an apple-specialty shop, we expected an assortment of apple pastries and deserts. They only had two and neither looked appetizing. Because of our bad experience at the deli, we probably won't be trying their full service dinner next door anymore. It's hard to describe all the goodness experienced dining here. The specialty drinks are deliciously cider-related. The bread served tastes freshly baked and has a wonderfully crunchy crust. I've sampled the burger, beers, scallops, meat and cheese platter, short rib, salads .... The list goes on and on. I've yet to be disappointed. The atmosphere is great. There is a room for families and large groups which gets a little loud sometimes but it doesn't intrude on the other areas of the restaurant. There is a quiet alcove for smaller more intimate dining. The bar area is exactly what you would dream up for a relaxing drink or meal in the NH mountains with a fireplace to keep the chill away. The only small detractor is that most of the entrees are priced well into the $20+ range so it is not an inexpensive meal. However, you do get what you pay for. I've returned many times and will continue to make this a regular dining spot for years to come. read more

Foodie find not to be missed! I recently visited this charming little spot and was very impressed. In a small corner of New Hampshire is this blink or you'll miss it restaurant. Close to ski resorts and fine lodging. Quick bites to be had are the figs stuffed with bacon and blue cheese. Tasty little treats. Also they had fried polenta sticks that were crispy and hearty. For starters I highly recommend the moroccan meatballs. Hint of lime and many zesty flavors. So intriguing and a must try. I also ordered the Smoked salmon tartare. Buyer beware with this one. I mainly ordered this as a palate cleanser. The menu states that it comes with local egg. In my experience, when egg is paired with tartare it is raw. This was a medium boiled egg. Totally did not pair with the dish. Other than that, the tartare was fine nothing special. Next we ordered the Lobster Risotto. OMG! The vanilla bean marscapone made this the creamiest and flavorful version of this dish I have ever had. Loved every single bite. The cheese and charcuterie board was a bit on the small side- but then again i tend to eat like a horse. But yum! The meats were just delicious! Particularly the salami. It also came with a pickled mango concoction that just paired beautifully with the cheeses. For our entrees we ordered the Bacon Gorgonzola Crusted Pork Chop and the Pan Roasted Duck Breast. The pork was cooked BEAUTIFULLY. Juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. The Rosti Potato was a nice treat to go along with it. I have never tried that before and will be on the look out for it now. The duck was very tender with little hints of sweetness. Not 100% that it paired well with the sweet potatoes though. Separetly they were fine but together not so much. There was some sort of green int he dish- either spinach or kale (can't remember which) but that really made a difference in the sweet potato. Added a saltiness to it that was great. Lastly we ordered the Warm Cider Donuts & Ice Cream. Plated in a very cute way, the ice cream was covered in delicious caramel goodness. The donuts on the other hand were a little dry for my taste. Our family had mixed reviews as we left this restaurant. The atmosphere and service were lovely, but we were underwhelmed with many of the sauces and seasonings. Our favorite dishes were the fried calamari, drizzled with a cider glaze and the roasted beet and goat cheese appetizers. For entrees we ordered the flank steak and the rack of lamb special. Both dishes were cooked perfectly but arrived tepid and over-sauced. Desserts were yummy. Both the creme brulee and the toffee caramel cake were great and the presentation was picture-worthy. We visited the restaurant during February vacation with our kids ages 9-12 who dine out regularly. We were greeted with a scowl upon arriving and then escorted to the attic where we sat alone in a barely lit room. The only words from the hostess seating us were to please not drag our chairs on the floor because it would disturb the customers downstairs. She then said that the waitress would help us figure out "what to do with the kids". We were obviously not welcome but they happily took $400 for dinner on a Monday night. Great for locals and tourists alike. Upscale but not too uncomfortable. It is a great first date place that will impress. Local food, great modern atmosphere that is not industrial, like so many places now. We had polenta fries that were tempura like and a simple salad to start. Both were unique. I had the special monkfish with a pistachio vinaigrette reduction. Paul had duck that was cook like steak with a sweet and tangy reduction of blueberries. The wait staff was top-notch. I had the Chicken dusted with porcini mushrooms over pasta. Good flavor and the broccoli rabi was a great touch. Aside not being able to get a reservation btw 5-7:30 was my only complaint as we were leaving at 6:30 is was getting crowded. This is our favorite spot in the Valley to eat. We discovered the White Mountain Cider Co. on Yelp last weekend, after agreeing to meet my wife's parents nearby for some leaf peeping. We weren't disappointed! We started with the homemade potato chips -- we were going to go with the sampler, but our server cautioned us about the portion size, so we chose the half order with the curry aioli. It didn't really seem like a classic aoli to me, but it certainly was tasty! I also ordered the brussels sprout salad, which was to die for -- I'm hoping I can duplicate it at home. For dinner, my father-in-law had the schnitzel, and didn't raise his eyes until the plate was clean -- a good sign. My wife seemed to enjoy the butternut squash ravioli, and I had the duck, which was perfectly seasoned, if a bit fatty near the skin. We did not have room for dessert, but hope that we can visit again when we're in the area. I did take note of the "snarky hostess," as Melissa D. described -- we had made reservations early in the day, and when a couple walked in without them, she rolled her eyes and dismissed them summarily. Our server, however, was friendly and knowledgeable -- especially with regard to the beer selection, which impressed my father in law. White Mountain Cider Co. is definitely worth a slight detour from Conway, which seems to have an inexplicable dearth of decent dining spots. read more

Best food at the White Mountains! The Cider House has the perfect balance of a warm and inviting atmosphere with food that is well crafted, creative, and impeccably executed. It is my absolute favorite dining experience of all my White Mountain visits. The price is fair for the experience and compares to other higher end restaurants in the area. However, Cider House has better food. It's as simple as that. After enjoying a warm cider drink, I had a scallop special that was bursting with flavor and the scallops were prepared perfectly. The bread basket was fresh and delicious. At our table we also had the gnocchi and cod. Both meals were perfection. For desert we had the cider donuts and ice cream. As expected it was wonderful and a perfect ending to the meal. I can't recommend this place more and I'm so excited to have found this little gem tucked away in North Conway! read more

If you're in the area of this place stop reading, and go...just go. We were planning our wedding at the sort of nearby Mt Washington Resort and we were looking for a nearby place to eat. We found this little place as we passed by way of a vague memory of them having fresh cider donuts in the morning. The restaurant itself is basically just a little old farmhouse converted into a restaurant. When we went in they asked us if we had a reservation. "It's a Friday night and all, but really lady, you're in the middle of nowhere" my stupid self said to myself before I tried their food. We didn't have a reservation and it turns out the place was packed, but the hostess found a place for us at the bar. We're suckers for homemade chips so we started there, and that is also what you should do. They come with 3 very special sauces, and are worth driving out there in and of themselves. That was soon followed up by drinks. I had the cidertini so I could be rustic James Bond. However, the wife wanted a drink she didn't know the name of. We very poorly described it to the bartender and he took 30 seconds, pondered what she was describing and told us to wait. He returned a minute later with a handful of ingredients and herbs and tried two delicious permutations of what he was thinking before he nailed it on the third one. Let me remind you, this place was slammed. Our bartender took a terrible description and scienced it into something amazing while serving at least 75 other people. For dinner we she had the chicken and I had a fish special they were running. the menu changes with seasonally available items so check back often. For my part, the fish was like nothing I've ever tried. The food is nothing short of fantastic, and you will not have room for desert. But, you will FIND room. The Cider donuts with caramel and ice cream command you to eat them and they will not be denied! We've been back a few times since, and we even ended up hosting our wedding rehearsal dinner here. They have the most reasonable price points we could have possibly imagined. Teresa was willing and able to craft a custom menu for us, and everything on it was fantastic. I highly suggest checking this place out if you're having an event in the area. They beat two resort hotel event prices in the area by over half. A last note, they also have a barn in the back that serves breakfast, lunch, and cider donuts that come out of a small machine called the Donut Robot 4000.
