8 months after we first visited White Mountain Cider Company we came back to celebrate my husbands birthday. The meals, waitstaff and atmosphere could not have been better. Bartender James wow'ed us with his amazing mixing and pairing skills and Joanne our waitress made the night extra special by giving us amazing recommendations. We enjoyed a chip basket, the pumpkin and apple bisque (out of this world) and my husband got the chicken special which he wouldn't stop raving about. We were greeted with a scowl upon arriving and then escorted to the attic where we sat alone in a barely lit room. The only words from the hostess seating us were to please not drag our chairs on the floor because it would disturb the customers downstairs. She then said that the waitress would help us figure out "what to do with the kids". We were obviously not welcome but they happily took $400 for dinner on a Monday night. Great for locals and tourists alike. Upscale but not too uncomfortable. It is a great first date place that will impress. Local food, great modern atmosphere that is not industrial, like so many places now. We had polenta fries that were tempura like and a simple salad to start. Both were unique. I had the special monkfish with a pistachio vinaigrette reduction. Paul had duck that was cook like steak with a sweet and tangy reduction of blueberries. The wait staff was top-notch. Had dinner at White Mountain Cider last night, the experience was once again 5 star. Service was superior as usual. Brussels spout app was outstanding. I had the Chicken dusted with porcini mushrooms over pasta. Good flavor and the broccoli rabi was a great touch. Aside not being able to get a reservation btw 5-7:30 was my only complaint as we were leaving at 6:30 is was getting crowded. This is our favorite spot in the Valley to eat. I'm so late reviewing this! We booked a ski package in February 2011 that came with a gift certificate to the White Mountain Cider Co., and the meal was one of the highlight of the trip. I'm serious when I say that this may have been the best meal of my life. Rumor had it that the founders/chefs were both CIA grads that cut their teeth in NYC - I was sold (and starving after a day of skiing). It was softly snowing when we pulled into the unassuming driveway. The decorative lights were really lovely, and my boyfriend dropped me off at the bottom of the stairs while he parked the car. The restaurant was a beautiful, restored, tongue and groove style farmhouse/barn with a bar, tables, a few high-top tables and lounge-type seating. Very rustic, low lights, a few fireplaces and beautifully aged/stained wood everywhere. Even the floor! A testament to any high quality establishment is the atmosphere on a Saturday night, and it was perfectly packed which wiped away any doubts we had. Unfortunately, we were running late for our reservation. They graciously accommodated us and we got seated next to the entertainment: a retired gentleman that was a ski instructor by day and a guitar player at night. We started with two fantastic recommended wines, tempranillo and a syrah, I believe, and a perfectly prepared scallop appetizer. For entrees, my boyfriend had the rabbit confit (which was excellent), and I chose the monkfish (absolutely divine). I highly recommend both of these if they're still on the menu, especially the monkfish. And, of course, we couldn't pass up the Cider Donuts for dessert. Our waiter was extraordinary because of his attention and recommendations as well as his knack for doubling as the bartender. He was never rude, or interrupted our romantic meal, and was a really smart, affable guy. A pleasure to talk to. And, for extra points, he knew how to make a Golden Cadillac. WIN. Booked a nice weekend away for the bf's birthday and after reading reviews decided to try this place. I called and was read reservations are a must so I made one through yelp, super easy! The address is not searchable on GPS so it was tough to find. When we got there it was empty but the host still asked if we had reservations, luckily we did or we would have been turned away. The menu is limited. We ordered the chips after reading the reviews on them... Nothing to brag about. The food was luke warm at best and when the waiter noticed we weren't really enjoying it sent the cook out (without asking us) who questioned us why we didn't enjoy his "tasty" dishes. My bf ordered the steak. It was mostly fat. I ordered the chicken/pasta dish and the cream sauce was interesting to be nice. We were quite embarrassed and just said we weren't too hungry. My fiancé and I have been reading the reviews. We started with the cheese plate that came out on a granite sheet. Everything was fresh and was a great way to start the meal. For Dinner she had the Scollops which where cooked perfect with mushrooms and greens. I had the duck breast with a apple sauce and sweet potatoes. The waiter was friendly and did not rush us. A best kept secret! My fiancé and I stopped here on the last night of our vacation, and after three days of greasy pizzas, we were ecstatic to see duck, fresh vegetables, local cheeses and fish on the menu. We started with the charcuterie board with various meats, cheeses, fruits and dips. Amazing! After this, we had the duck with roasted turnips, and the lamb with spinach and orzo. We were gushing the entire meal. While the price tag held us back from getting dessert, we didn't forgo the in-house craft beer. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a departure from the norm. The innkeeper at Bartlett Inn highly recommended M.C. For dinner, so glad he did! Staff was friendly and service was attentive. Loved the fresh out of the oven baked bread, so perfectly done! Grilled pork chop was moist and flavorful. Green beans were bright green and not over cooked. The combination of roasted fingerling potatoes and beets were super yummy! Opted for the cider donuts, ice cream and caramel sauce as they were out of the vanilla panicotta with blueberries. I'll just say that the dessert was very lack luster in comparison to the entree. Wow. This was the best dinner we had in North Conway. We were blowing away. We started with the Roasted Peaches & Burrata which was outstanding, however my only suggestion would be for them to offer more than 2 slices of baguette as they were small. Either way it was really delicious! For entrees we had chicken and sausage orecchiette and the pink peppercorn rubbed duck breast, both were more delicious than we could have ever expected. This was our second time trying the White Mountain Cider Restaurant and man it did not disappoint! We split the Cider Mill Salad and the pan roasted chicken breast. They start you off with warm brown bread and butter. The salad had mixed greens, green apple slices and walnuts tossed in a apple cider vinaigrette it was AMAZING (not pictured because we were too eager to try it!). The chicken dish was by far my favorite part mostly because it came in a light lemon thyme Parmesan sauce that had fantastic flavor and enhanced every other part of the dish. It also came with ricotta gnocchi which was also a showstopper and broccolini that was a perfect complement to the sauce. The chicken was skin on and bone in but super moist and again, delicious with the sauce. Definitely coming back for this chicken dish! To finish it off we had to try the cider donuts topped with ice cream because they had just reopened their market after a fire tore down the building last year and that's where they make the donuts! We had Jeremiah for our waiter, very polite and friendly was always there when you needed something. The food was very delicious, menu limited I suggest looking at it before you decide if a picky eater,atmosphere pleasent. You can wear jeans or you can dress up. Visited for dinner on a thursday night in August. We didn't have a reservation, which I was a little nervous about, but we were seated within 10 minutes of our arrival at a very nice table in a room just off of the main bar area. Loved the rustic ski lodge-esque interior. Very nice wine selection and a scrumptious-looking cocktail menu. Attentive (but not too attentive) service. The food was delicious. As per many people's recommendations, we did order the potato chips, and they were very tasty-- although the sampler was way too large for the two of us-- still, it was almost worth it since we got to try three toppings as a result. I ordered scallops and my boyfriend had the burger. Both were delicious. All in all, it was a wonderful meal. We will be back the next time we visit the area! read more

Yes, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to is in north conway NH. Who the heck would have thought. Dee-licious. Even the Grenache was excellent. Our server Steve gave us excellent service and had an incredible knowledge and intense passion for food and drink. Everything perfect. Exceptional charcuterie board, if that's your thing (it is ours), with handmade touches like seasoned crackers and pickled vegetables. The drinks menu is fun and full of cider-infused and other creative cocktails, as well as extensive wine/beer options. Try the cidertini! If you are hungry for both food and ambiance in the North Conway area, and want delicious dining, we highly recommend. You can dine fairly economically here, or go all out. I'm of the belief that good food should be the weightiest indicator in an online review, that said, the service was also great (front end, table and phone reservations/directions) Better to call and have them explain the location from wherever you're based if your GPS gets confused. The Yelp address is actually the correct one, and as one unhappy reviewer experienced, the google map for this place is wrong (no fault of the establishment). We got in (as a couple) without advance reservations, but, like any passable-or-better restaurants in the area, it can be busy. I felt like a loser in my dirty keen sandals. My wife and I had the wild salmon with risotto. Wow, well prepared, excellent flavor, great presentation. We found several highly rated restaurants in the area but when I asked 2 different people ( locals) , each one said their favorite restaurant was White Mountain Cider Co., so we had to try it. Absolutely excellent! My husband loved his maple margarita too. The crab cakes were delicious and I make my own and am fussy about them. Visited during the COVID 19 pandemic. We booked inside not realizing that the space is sooo small. The hostess was able to find a spot for us in the loft that was perfect for our family. It was private and we felt very comfortable. I would recommend sitting outside. With such a eclectic menu I wondered how good the food would be. A real hidden gem, WMC is a great little bistro located in the wilds of Glen NH not far from N Conway. We were staying nearby and had been referred to this place by a colleague, he frequents many high end eateries literally around the world so a nod from him is usually a good sign, and he was on the money with this one. From the outside it looks like an old farmhouse, that theme continues when you walk inside as its is beautifully decorated with old farm machines and the like, original wood beams and hardwood floors give the place a "barn" feel, very cozy. We had a reservation and were seated immediately in the lower part of the restaurant, let me explain... When you walk in there's a hostess stand in front of you and to your right a small bar that hold maybe 8-10 diner's and drinkers. At the end of the bar a sunken room hold about 10-12 tables holding about 20-25 or so folks. Opposite the bar is a smaller room behind a curtain (that maybe has about the same amount of tables, i didn't really get in there to see!) Anyway, our server was Dora who was excellent, and brought us drinks right away. Menu was small, but covered a lot of ground and included something for almost everyone. Apps to start with, brussel sprouts, shaved and blanched then tossed in a dressing that kept them crisp, dumplings were small potato pillow's perched atop a ragu of lamb, beef and pork, ragu was the highlight of this app, crab cakes were pretty tasteless but looked incredible, calamari was tender but was doused in a sweet chili sauce that i thought spoiled them, would have been better Rhode Island style with some hot peppers on the side. For mains, I opted for the NY strip that was ordered medium well and came out medium rare and was returned, #2 also ordered the same and was served medium so not a good start, but they threw them back on the grill and browned them up a bit which didn't do much for the glaze, but it still tasted ok. Au gratin potatoes served alongside were ok as was the broccoli accompanying it. #3 had the porcini dusted chicken and pasta, a high end take on chicken marsala in a thicker cream sauce similar to an alfredo and served with orcchette pasta, this was very tasty. #4, 5 and 6 has the half chicken, this was also excellent. Wine selection was decent and the local cider i tried was outstanding also. For dessert, we went for the cider donuts with vanilla ice cream and a sweet sticky sauce, extremely addictive and devoured with much gusto! Prices were a little high, however, comparable to the quality of food and service we received, so no complaints from this diner. I'd certainly make sure i visited here again should i be in the vicinity. read more

There is clearly a kitchen filled with people who know what they're doing and take a ton of pride in doing it at such a high level. The Lobster and ricotta flatbread was luscious. The fried calamari was cooked perfectly and had a beautiful sweetness to it. Ribeye had excellent char and good tang from the glaze, truffle fries were executed perfectly, and the pasta with chicken and mushrooms was creamy and magnificent. And reasonably priced! If I had simply driven by & saw it from the outside, I would never have eaten here because it looks like an abandoned, old bldg. But once you step inside, it's a totally different story! The rustic atmosphere is very warm & welcoming, I knew immediately that we were in for a treat. We started off with the loaded homemade chips with sour cream, bacon & chives. The presentation was as delicious as the chips & toppings. For my entree, I got the scallops, which were velvety smooth & very tasty. They were coriander crusted with coconut parsnips & spiced peanuts. It was a good serving size, 5 scallops, perfect!
