I called this company to get an estimate on a replacement on my roof. Two times I made appointments with this company and both times no one ever showed up nor did they call to let me know they weren't coming. Both times I asked to be directed to one of their field agents (Briana Pickerson) by name and both times i was givin excuses as to why she was unable to talk to me even though I was givin her business card and was told to ask for her!!!??? I pleasant person came door to door while I was gardening and talked to me. A few days later a marketing person called and I told them I had a project for NEXT YEAR. But he insisted they wanted to look and price it now to get it on this advertising special. So he scheduled a person to come out at 630pm for a quick look. The guy came out and expected 2.5 to 3 hours of my time for a presentation. What? He said he drove 2 hours for my appointment. I didn't have that kind of time. Ridiculous! He came in, asked to use the restroom and asked weird questions about rooms in my home that he was not here to look at. Now I'm creeped out because other comments say people felt they were casing the house. Ugh why did I agree to this? Scary, scketchy behavior. read more

I wish I could give them fewer stars than one. My husband and I are first-time homeowners, new to everything. They came and sold us on redoing our roof. They told us it would be our whole roof and garage, and even drew up an overhead grid of the roof that night. Well, it took months for them actually to come out and do the job. Then we realized they didn't even do a section of our roof. We told them, and they said they don't include flat sections. Not once was this told to us beforehand, and when we complained and told them that, they merely blamed it on the saleswomen and gave us an offer for that section. Mind you, the part they didn't do ended up raining through, and now there is mold on my ceiling in our back dining room. The worst part is when the salesman came trying to get us to finalize doing that part of our roof. He came with some papers, knocking on the door. We didn't want to answer; we were experiencing a family matter at the time. Hours later, HOURS, we went to leave. I walked out, taking stuff to the car, and he came running over. He was sitting outside our house watching for HOURS. He said he wanted to talk, and I said we were dealing with a family emergency, so we wouldn't be doing this tonight. He got angry and rude, and I still said no. That was so disturbing to me. What company allows a sales associate to sit outside your house and stalk you? Then get angry because we're going through a family emergency? It's disgusting, scary behavior, and I will never answer the door for them again after that. I called White Oak Remodels to do a flooring project. This was not a full remodel at that point but I needed help. Joe called me 90 minutes before my appointment for an estimate and basically said it was too small of a job for them. I already had it schedule for days for him to come out and he waited 90 minutes before. But after talking to him, he came out and said he would get me a quote. He said a few days and I follwed up with him on the 3rd day to check in. I was told it was in process. GREAT. Well it has now been 10 days and still nothing. I emailed Joe again and crickets. So I WOULD NOT recommend them to anyone. They just ghosted me and because it was not worth his time. Guess what Joe, we had a budget for flooring replacemnt and paint for $25k. You blew it. From start to finish, the experience working with White Oak to replace our windows was amazing! Home renovation projects are never cheap and I'm always worried about paying too much or not getting quality work. When we met with Vance, those concerns immediately went away. He was so nice, answered all our questions, showed us the product samples and gave us time to consider our options. We never felt pressured at all (which wasn't the case with other companies we talked to). In the end, we were easily sold based on the quality and value of the products. Plus, the windows have some great built-in safety features that I really like. It only took a day or two for someone to come out and measure our windows to finalize the order. Vance told us our windows would be custom built and that takes some time. Understandable. We were originally expecting our windows to arrive about now, but they actually came in and were installed a month early! The whole installation was so quick and easy, the workers were done in a matter of hours and they even took time to repair damage they noticed on our window bench that was caused by water leaks in our old windows. Above and beyond! The new windows are beautiful! We noticed immediately how much quieter it is the rooms with the new windows. But now that the weather is turning cold outside, I can also tell that it's warmer. Since we hadn't worked with White Oak before and we didn't personally know anyone who had, we kept this project small (4 windows) just to test things out. Let's start with 1 person called to confirm appointment with husband, then I got a call 10 mins later to confirm, they did this twice in the same week. REALLY??? Well lets stay my appointment was at 6p they arrived at 5:45 p.m. I got home at 6 they (he) was upset we were late again REALLY? The way they (2) talked was crazy. This was a 2-hour visit not sure why. I (wife) disconnect very easily, so I walked away and started dinner lol. Bill was texting Bri while she was writing prices on paper, etc. Somehow, for 15 windows, they started at $91,705 with laminate in black or $71,230 without. The price dropped to $44,970, but we had to sign an NDA. Very pushy and was told this price would only be good right now when we leave then its almost 100k again. They will never stop calling. I sat through a 2 hour window demonstration that was supposed to be just window measurement. The guy was hard to get out of my house. He gave me a "limited time offer" that had to be signed that minute which cut the price of $30,000 down to $13,000 for 11 windows. Very pushy, attitude changed as soon as i said no. By no means would I ever recommend White Oak Construction. We had two new windows installed on 06/28/2024. The windows were faulty. I supplied photos of the windows and someone came out to document them to show that indeed the windows were faulty. After four months of waiting and calling, the faulty windows were finally replaced on November 1st which were, once again, faulty. After reporting this to the service manager and sending photos again, I was told on November 7th that replacement glass had been ordered and would take 6-8 weeks to come in. Rather than 6-8 weeks, it took 4.5 months and many emails and phone calls to the service manager before the new glass was installed on March 27th. Once again, the glass was faulty which I documented with photos. We received a call back finally from the service manager on April 5th assuring us that he would stay on top of our request for some type of refund for the incredibly poor quality of the product and customer service. We did not hear from him again until I emailed again on May 27th asking for a response. He responded via e-mail telling me there was nothing he could do and that I had to contact my sales manager. (This is the same person who had told us on April 5th that he would stay on top of it and never contacted us again.) When I expressed my disappointment at his dishonesty in communication with us and asked for the sales manager's name and number, he did not respond. And that's where we are. Stuck with faulty windows that cost $5,000 and no one responding from White Oak. You can do so much better pricewise and quality wise than this company. I can't speak for their remodel division however, I can speak about their home building. Punch list is over 17 months old with no action. They promise whatever you want and do nothing. They use wired garage door openers just like in the 70's, for example. Cabinet doors and drawers are not aligned, came out of the box that way , they won't fix them. If you like a little duck ponds in your concrete use Tate Concrete I am sure they are cheap. I could go on and on with a whole list of problems. Bottom line, I would not let them build me a doghouse. I asked them to come out to give me a quote on replacing an exterior entry door and frame. 2 guys came out and when they saw 2 cars, immediately interrogated me (a woman) on if I was married, how long I've been in my relationship, what our work schedules are - all questions I don't feel comfortable answering to 2 men I've never met, and they were not who I talked to on the phone. When I said I had a "partner" the tone changed, and they insisted on meeting that person and refused to give me a quote. They left and said they would only agree to reschedule with both of us, but never even called back. Clearly very sexist and homophobic company. Someone driving this company truck decided to tailgate my vehicle all the way down 135 this morning from County Line road to Southport road. I was driving the posted speed limit and at times going up to 5 mph over, we also drove through a school zone where this driver continued to tailgate my vehicle with a bus in front of me. As he was tailgating my vehicle he also made sure to swerve back and forth in and out of the lane we were in. Thank you for so kindly advertising your business on this truck so that a complaint of your driving could be made. My brother who is 81 years old and living on social security called White Oak to get an estimate on a gutter repair. The salesman talked him into total gutter replacement on his 1 story 2 bedroom house for $8400! The salesman's first quote was $10000 and then lowered it to $8400 with "senior and veteran discounts and with financing available". The national average is between $8 to $20 per foot and White Oak is charging him over $32 per foot. Is that how this company treats senior veterans? A fair price should be $2500 to $3000. I talked to a a representative from the company to see if they would amend the contract and all he kept saying was "he signed the contract". He said he would get back to me and that never happened. Too bad when they damage your property during the quote, they refuse to make it right. Not to mention, they wanted 12,000 dollars for two small windows and a 7x9 garage door. That's after a 50% off discount for using a yard sign. ‍ Back to the damaged property thing: The guy came to give us a quote. He was a larger guy, and when he sat down at my dining room table, the back legs of the chair snapped, and put a gouge in the floor. He said he'd let the owners know what happened, and they'd make it right. I never heard anything, so a week later, I called them to ask for an update. That's when they found out about it. He never even told them. A week later, I called again for an update. The lady that answered the phone gave my name and number to Richard Medcaf(probably spelled wrong.) He called and set up a time for him to come see the damage. He informed me that he'd get with the owners of the company, and they'd once again, make it right. Several weeks passed with no communication again, so I called yesterday. He finally called me back and said that the owners were willing to give me 200 dollars. Not sure where you can get a dining room set for 200 dollars. I'd love to get just the chair, but it's not a mass produced set. It's a farmhouse style. That also does nothing for the floor. If they were willing to come do the work for that 200 dollars, I'd consider it. Not sure I'd let them now, knowing how they treat people. This all started because they go door to door, begging to give you a quote. I decided to hear their quote, and this happens. I have video of Andy Maroon (the guy that did the damage) telling us that White Oak Construction would fix it. I've tried to be nice about it. I understand accidents happen. Mr. Jeff Long came to my ailing mothers home and spent 3hrs convincing her that she needed to have her gutters and windows replaced. Mind you my mom has early onset dementia and he could clearly tell she wasnt capable of making informed financial decisons. However he continued to pressure her and obtain her information and signature on a contract to replace some windows at property where she resides. He initially was trying to get her to commit to windows and doors to the tune of $13k. When that wasn't agreed opun he acted like he was giving her a discount of $4k to get her to agree and sign up for $8514 to only replace a few windows at $157mo. On top of this my mother doesnt even own the property to make those types of decisions or improvements. Her credit report is frozen so I'm unsure how they even got her financed, unless its some type of in house credit. I want her contract negated and no work to be performed at her property. Your sales representative should be ashamed for clearly taking advantage of an elderly person not capable of making any informed financial decisions. This place was outrageously priced. They gave us a quote to install three squares of vinyl siding. Cover our soffits in vinyl and install aluminum over the facia boards. Their quote was $93,000. We went with a different contractor and got it done for $7700. When the guy from White Oak said he could do it for 93 we assumed it was hundred he said no $93,000. it took them four hours to give us the quote. They just wanted to sit around and talk major waste of my time. read more

Since we are in the market of getting our gutters replaced, I agreed to a phone call at work. After telling the caller (numerous times), "DO NOT KNOCK ON THE DOOR just email me the quote and we will decide if we want to contact you", the caller kept insisting on sending someone to "talk" to us. This may not be a big deal for most people, but in our case, my husband and I work opposite shifts. I don't want someone knocking on our door, making our dogs bark, thus causing my husband to wake up. For any of those who work nights, this is quite unpleasant. How difficult is it to stop by, write up an estimate, and then email it? Helpful hints... Don't refer to a long time homeowner as the "Older Generation". I'm 50, not 70. Don't talk to me like you're explaining something to one of your drinking buddies. I'm the homeowner and you are representing your company. Don't force your way. After they came in a crew of 2 guys came and installed them . They were efficient and had 9 windows replaced in a bit over 5 hours. We like the windows They make house look better and probably more insulated than my old ones. I would recommened White Oak Construstion if you needed new window. This company is a complete joke. We got siding put on for YEARS ago and it's been falling off since day one. For the past two weeks we've been trying to get siding put back and the service manager or whoever answers the phones is a complete b word. Sorry to say that, but it's true. We've spoken with her now three times and are getting nowhere. We've requested to, first of all, have the phone number on our account changed. She refused to do that. We were setting up a day for them to come out and repair the mess on the back of our house and she said "which day would be better x day or x day?" We gave her a day and she was supposed to schedule the appointment. Now here we are, supposedly day of, and we called back to ask when they would be here. She said they weren't coming and the appointment didn't exist because "our service guy is on vacation". It got to the point she started yelling and telling us off saying WE were being rude for asking why the appointment was never made. This is ridiculous. No one needs to be treated like this. I originally had this company out to quote gutters and soffits in spring of 2020. Last week, I had a missed call from this area code but I ignored it since I was at work. I figured if it was important, they would leave a message. The next day, I received a call from the same number. Once again, I was at work so I declined the call. Rather than leaving a voicemail, the salesman called me back again. I declined the call and sent it to voicemail. He called back a 3rd time. We went through this game again where I sent him to voicemail because I was at work. Lo and behold, he called me back a 4th time. At this point, I thought it may be important so I answered the call. Instead, he was following up with customers that they quoted and what they could have done better. I definitely had an attitude at this point but I felt it was deserved. The harassment of potential customers is why I went elsewhere for the work on my house. I felt badgered when I was looking to have work done. 2 years later - I was called 4 times in less than 5 minutes. In the future, leave a voicemail and let the customer decide whether or not to return the call. I can honestly say I will never use this company and I wouldn't recommend them. read more

This company is overpriced and will not back there work. They installed a roof about four years ago for us. They were instructed to fix any issues that needEd fixed with our roof and they said they would. The day of installation I explained there was a sag in our roof and I was told that it wasn't an issue and that the beams were just to far spaced. I believed this and trusted them. Fast forward four years and now I'm trying to sell my home and during an inspection it was discovered that the trusses were damaged in that area and that there was water damaged decking.They installed a roof over damaged trusses and did not replace the bad decking at the time of install. They refused to take any accountability for these issues and did not back their work. please don't use this company read more

Door to door salesman was looking into our front windows as my wife pulled in the driveway. She gave them my number because she thought that would get him to leave and she struggles to say no. :) They called multiple times and were incredibly pushy. They made up the fact that my wife said we needed new doors and they kept on bringing it up even when I said we were not interested. The gentleman then became frustrated and hung up. I made the mistake of answering the door. They were selling windows that day, but I needed a roof. White Oak was in a hurry to "help." Pushed hard to do the estimate the next day, though I had other commitments. This young fella arrived in an unmarked sedan, and was really unprofessional. I don't respond well to hard sell and I immediately got a sense of "oh, boy, an old woman. Perfect mark." I led him on for two hours while he: Talked up his company Asked me questions that were way too personal Accessed my roof by propping a ladder on the guttering Measured the roof with a 25' tape Insulted my property inspector (house is a recent purchase) Accessed the attic, leaving a mess of insulation in my garage And more little things told me this wasn't a good thing. He assured me I needed an entire tear off of the roof (showed me a pic of the ridge vent from the inside, among other pictures, telling me "Look! You can see light through that!" [of course you can. It's a vent!]) He then quoted me, after not adding up any real material costs, a total of around $48,000 to do the roof and gutters. My house is under 700 square feet. He then offered me a 10% senior discount. He became obviously angry when I told him I wasn't signing anything that day, that I needed to talk with family. Pulled out all sorts of passive aggressive insults. Offered me "The Advertising Deal" which included a yard sign for a month and an NDA regarding the pricing ($6,000). I wasn't signing anything, of course. Frustrated, he then offered to replace a double window for $5,000. HAHAHA. Further frustrated, he refused to give me the paper from the legal pad where he'd written my "estimates" and left quickly. I see the header puts me in SF. Not one to leave bad reviews, but this place certainly deserves one. My husband had initially made an appointment not realizing I would be working. He called back to reschedule and the man he spoke to was irritated that I couldn't be there. My husband gave him an idea on when we could reschedule and the man said he'd have to call us back. Fast forward a week- someone from the company just shows up at our house at 530pm. We figured it would be a quick look at the roof for an estimate if anything needed replaced. After an hour being there and telling us how their company advertises etc, he finally went out to look. Another hour later, we were then quoted $77,000 for a new roof and an additional $50,000 for new soft facia. There are no active leaks in our roof and he was clearly reaching to show us signs that we may have had water damage in our attic at one time. Needless to say, we were not expecting that cost. The guy proceeds to tell us he could drop it 40% if we committed then and there. At 10pm. Would not take no for an answer. He finally asks what price we would commit to that night. We told him it wasn't about the price at that point. It was 10pm, we had traveled all day, we weren't committing to something that big. He kept saying he understood but kept trying to get us to agree to a price. It was concerning it dropped it from $78k to 40k by the end of the visit. 4 hours of our life we can't get back. To the company- you may want to watch what you say in front of people's ring cameras. Trying to guess how much our house is worth and saying we have money "in spades" is so unprofessional and tacky. read more

We used White Oak Construction for our roof, and our living room, and patio door windows. The roof was done with the care and in the time we were told it would take. The roof has withstood everything nature has thrown at it so far. And, people still comment on how nice it looks 3 to 4 years later. We had the window and patio door this year have kept the areas 100% warmer than our old window and patio door with comforters used to cover them in the winter. Now we do not need any additional insulation. It is great to be able to see outside during the winter without the cold seeping through. We have been able to keep the heat turned down compared to before having the new windows installed. The level of professionalism is second to none. The sales people who come out know the products, and process that is going to take place. So you know in advance. They answer all questions you may have, and explain things so you can understand it. The products offered are top of the line. Outstanding quality from our personal experiences. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Pricing is fair for the quality you are getting. Yes,I too made the mistake of signing a contract with White Oak Construction. I had 5 windows installed by them. The caulking around the windows are chipping off and the cold air is unbearable! Recently I had more windows installed by another company. After removing my old windows, they sprayed foam insulation before installing the new windows. Something White Oak Construction failed to do. Also need to mention the guy that came out was very rude. During his presentation, I told him I wanted to get other estimates. He replied "don't waste my time here" I wish now I had just asked him to leave. So now I'm off to buy plastic to cover these windows. read more

The keys to lock or unlock the door for a few weeks until the lock system has time to wear in a little when we tried to lock the door it didn't work at all,so we lock it from inside and use the front to secure the house. ive had them out three times to replace the lock system and figure out why it prevents us from using the keys. Finally I went to the company "white oak" and requested something be done. After talking to the supervisor, she promused to have someone there soon ,which he did come by checked it out and this was Tuesday and he said he would be back by weeks end which to no surprise never showed. They also told us they were getting with the company "Simonton" to help but nothing to date. One huge complaint is the key hold is. So close to frame thaT you can only use finger tips to turn the key which is very hard or impossible. Seeking help from elsewhere. Will be talking to BBB on this.
