As the Atlantic and Barnegat blanket us in cold this December I head over to the White Oak and pick up the finest soups east of Portugal. The chicken chili with tender chicken in a spicy mild chili base with beans and vegetables...so hearty and healthy. With a few butter biscuits and I'm a happy face. Chef Brian knows soups and the White Oak always has half and whole containers ready for. And how bout that staff is so friendly and accommodating. An island staple. read more

This was my first time at White Oak Market and it was not a planned visit. My regular sub shop for lunch while on Island Beach State Park wasn't answering their phones so I had to google other sub shops in the area. White Oak was the first to pop up on the list and was the closest to my current location. I was told when I ordered my two sandwiches that there'd be no wait and from the time it took for me to drive 5 minutes down the street both sandwiches were ready. I ordered an Italian Sub and a roast beef sandwich. Both legitimate sandwiches and they did not skimp on the meats. It reminded me of your typical deli inside and had a variety of other snacks and drinks which worked out perfectly as I picked up a bag of sunflower seeds for the beach. I also purchased two small coffees. For everything I thought the total was fair. The gentleman who answered the phone was kind and they were definitely efficient in making my food. I'm glad things worked out the way they did because now I know there's multiple options for good subs and sandwiches in the area. read more

I came here for a really late breakfast on a Saturday morning. The shop was busy and conveniently located next to a coffee shop. I got a bacon, egg, and hash brown and my boyfriend got a pork roll, egg, and cheese. The breakfast sandwiches were good and the bagels tasted fresh! They stuffed them a good amount and put ketchup on them too, which I loved. It definitely seemed like the local place to go for sandwiches. The service is very slow, though. So call ahead to order and then go in and pick up your order. They also seemed to give regulars preference over other customers. I would definitely come back for a breakfast sandwich, but I would make sure to call ahead to skip the line and wait. read more

White Oak has been doing great things in seaside park , NJ for long time. Always great help, very friendly and will help you out with any questions you might have. They do a lot of catering around the holidays as well which is really good. Go try them out if you are in town or nearby. The Mac salad and potato salad are some of my favorites they make. read more

Decent sandwiches served with a side of cocky rudeness. And lately they take at least 30-40 mins lead time. I have gone to this deli for years. I don't know why he has gotten so nasty and cocky. When I call to order he is increasingly rude and condescending, finishing off today that he couldn't hear me give my name and said, "this should be the easy part!" In a time where people should be kind,ive tippee them 10-20 a pop and always been friendly so what's changed? Maybe you should pass the torch and retire early or let the kids talk to the customers. read more

New owners took over late last year and have done a great job of improving this place! They're open all your round and yes their prices are high and the selection is limited but it's a convenience store located in Seaside Park, we are lucky to have them. If you want more selection and more reasonable prices then you have to drive to Ortley or toms River. If you want to stay in Seaside Park they have fresh bread and other baked goods every day and all the necessities and essentials you might need. It's very difficult to run a business in Seaside Park since there's only a few months where there are a lot of people here so of course the prices are higher and the selection is limited but they do a great job read more

This store has a very limited selection. I stopped in to pick up a gallon of milk for my 19 month old daughter, as I was staying in town for the week. The service was good, and it was convent, but next time I think I would just stop at a different supermarket, as there was no selection of snacks I could by for her. I was also forced to buy a jar of Ragu sauce as it was the only brand they had. I HATE Ragu, we actually never even used as my 19 month old has also been eating out every night as well. I'm actually about to run out of milk and will probably just stop somewhere else for a half gallon. read more

Excellent food and owner! Highly recommend to all for breakfast, lunch and for foods for your home BBQ! My wife's family has been going to white oak for over 50 years, and I have been personally going there for over 30 years. Some of the young kids that work there have grown up spending their entire summer at Seaside from family's vacationing and home owners for 3 generations or more. Despite a previous comment many of these kids have attended some of the best universities in the country, and they can usually give you lots of insight into Seaside Park! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Two of my friends worked here this summer and told me about their horrible experiences as employees. The girls' very first day they were told to go into the freezer and be butchers for the day because nobody else knew what how to. (Neither do they!!) While in the freezer, they found rotten chicken. When they asked their boss, who is also the owner, what to do with it (meaning which garbage to dispose it) he replied with "don't get rid of that we do different things with it" They were also told to scrape off expiration dates with nail polish remover. All the kids who work there make less then minimum wage (8.38) my friends made about 7 and were told to never speak about their pay to other employees because not everybody is paid equally.
