I was at the Shell station on 17660 Burbank Blvd in Encino Ca today and was not only charged for gasoline wrong (I was due an additional $.30 with a car wash)but I was charged $11 for a car wash last week (that I couldn't use until today)and the code wouldn't work!! The expiration date was 6/19!!! In order to wash my car, I used today's code, which worked. The attendant told me that I probably couldn't see and put the number in wrong - I put the correct number in three times and it said "number not authorized"! He told me (very RUDELY) that I had to talk to the manager. The "manager" told me that I don't know how to read a receipt. He refused to help me...he kept trying to say that I was stupid AND he kept telling me that I didn't get regular gas (which I did and my receipt shows that) and that where it showed my gallon total was the price per gallon. In other words, he was trying to gaslight me all around. When he screamed at me, called me names and threatened me, I got out and he came with me and threw my receipts at me and screamed at me to call the gas station phone number (which I did and it was the attendant inside answering! Todat, I was verbally assaulted at a gas station representing Shell. I have been a rewards member for so many years that I can't count. So, I only asked for a car wash code to cover the bad one and the $1.67 discount that I deserved for the car wash! I have been attacked for that small amount!!!! I've never been inside here but started coming here on the regular because it's the most affordable Shell station I've found in my area. The pumps are also newer and I've never had issues with them not working. I came here for the first time at night a couple of nights ago and loved how it was well lit and felt safe. Only use this place as your LAST RESORT. Today, I went to this location and dealt with a rude attendant who was clearly on his phone as he had his AirPods in. Because of this, he prepaid the wrong gas pump and tried to pin his mistake on me saying I gave him the wrong pump number. I asked him to remedy the situation by moving the money I gave him to the pump I was parked at and he refused. I asked him to call his manager and he refused until I called the police. His tune immediately changed after that and the manager quickly appeared within minutes. The manager allowed me to look at the cameras and sure enough I said the correct number. They both tried to play it off but the damage had been done. 30 minutes of my time was wasted due to the ATTENDANT'S MISTAKE AND LACK OF CARE! Ridiculous! Gas pump 10. Never fill up on gas pump 10. Better yet, just don't fill up here. Ridiculously unsafe! FOUR TIMES the stop mechanism has failed and has overflown on my hands and clothes. Should've learned after the first 3 times not to use that pump, but the station was packed and I decided to give it another go. Every other pump has worked fine on my cars except gas pump 10. I've notified the attendant multiple times already, with a bandaid of a fix being implemented to pour sawdust over the spilled gas on the floor. But I guess for the hoards of money they make from this cash piling business, fixing a KNOWN defective pump that could seriously cause harm isn't worth it. read more

I had two bad experiences here and will not be going back. The first one was when I went for gas and needed to use the restroom. It's a tiny little closet of a bathroom that was filthy, full of storage, and had no toilet paper, paper towels or seat covers! The second time was when I went there to use their car vacuums. I had a lot of stuff in my car so I pulled up on one side of the vacuums and started to clean my car out so that I could vacuum it. After about 10/15 minutes, an employee came out and started yelling at me that I was parked there for too long without using the vacuum, even though there was an open parking spot on the other side of the vacuums! I told him I had to clean my car out before I could start vacuuming but he just kept yelling and threatened to call his manager! I laughed and told him to go ahead and call his manager and tell him I'm never coming back. read more

Of course there is not too much to say about a gas station, however, I am reviewing White Oak Shell because it has several advantageous characteristics. First of all, this gas station is right off the 405 freeway exit at White Oak. This makes it so convenient. The other advantage is that the prices are extremely competitive as a whole. Generally speaking they are one of the least expensive gas stations in the area, this week they are the least expensive, this coupled with the convenient location makes it worth noting. This is a gas station that dispenses Shell-branded gasoline. It's pretty straightforward. However, the reason why I'm writing this review is that It appears there was a very large and intense fire at this gas station a few months ago. Do you know how I know? Half of the columns and ceiling are charred to a crisp. Every time I fill up my tank here I just look and think and wonder why the owner feels this is a good look. I understand paint is expensive but dang is this a good business decision? Why leave this damage here for months? Yes, at least half a year if not longer. I have been filling up gas at this gas station for the last 5 years. The car wash is always inconsistent. I had a problem I paid for a supreme wash had to go back inside for a new code I went back inside now the line was longer and I was given a new number but this time as I was driving through I noticed a difference sequence and realized he had given me the code for an express wash which is several dollars cheaper and my car was still all wet when I drove out when the light turned green... so after the car wash, I went back inside to mention it to him and to tell him the dryer did not dry my car. Mind you I have also recently injured my back and neck so a movement that would normally take me a minute or two took me five this time. Just as I was about to pay I was rudely interrupted by an employee telling me I had been there too long. Not true at all. They just wanted me to move to make room for a bigger car but that was not the correct approach. I ended up leaving and went to Mobile across the street instead. Incredibly convenient to stop by and get some, shockingly, well-priced gas.. especially now that they're doing the additional 10 cents off when you get a car wash! I just paid $10 for the car wash here and after I went through my car was still dirty any other time I have had this problem at any other car wash usually they send you through a second time or refund your money. The gas price is very reasonable comparing to most gas stations in the valley. Also you get 20 cent off a gallon if you go to car wash. But the car wash takes forever. It's too slow. You will have to wait long time in the line for the car wash. You are lucky if there's no one line the line. I think should probably update the car wash. read more
