Beautiful at night, perfect for photos!

A Gorgeous and Romantic Experience with a Purpose: A perfect meeting of a romantic, private getaway and supporting the protection and care of animals. Lions, Tigers & Bears is already one of the best sanctuaries you could visit. Great location, very nice and knowledgeable staff, and of course amazing animals that are being greatly cared for. The chance to stay at such a place is an opportunity that no one should pass up. You can drive right up to the house with easy parking. Very kind staff members showed us to the suite and gave a great rundown of amenities (a grand grill, fire pit, hot tub, and pool with a waterfall outside, and inside a fireplace, and a complimentary bottle of wine just to mention a few). The two-bedroom stay is wildlife-themed with lots of fun decor to discover. The bedroom has every pillow option possible and warm blankets you'll want to ask where they got them. The sanctuary closes to the public around 4 pm, so you get to walk around to experience a quiet and gorgeous sunset (a must) and after dark use the complimentary lantern to explore the place after dark (perfect view of the moon, stars and get to hear lots of night roars). Pick one of their multiple coffee options and enjoy a cup just outside the door and view two lovely tigers playing in an enclosure right beside the suite. It's hard to fully describe the serene, romantic, and soul-enriching experience that is staying in a sanctuary filled with such gorgeous and great animals that are being passionately taken care of. And the best part of all of it? The money goes towards making that care even better for current and future wildlife occupants. Escape the city, forget the hotels, and skip the amusement parks. Stay somewhere with a purpose like White Oak. We are already planning our next visit.

Witnessed this walking the grounds in the AM!

We not only visited the accredited animal sanctuary with a private tour, but we also spent the night in their well-appointed 2 bedroom guest home! The excitement of being on site is a thrill of a Lifetime! To wake up to the sounds of lion roars was incredible! The guest home has all that you would need plus more...like a jacuzzi, pools, outdoor grill and numerous outdoor seating areas with views of their majestic animals. Our visit is one we will never forget. BTW, everyone on staff was more than helpful and welcoming.

My experience inside White Oaks and out.

My wife, our four horses, and I have been clients of Len Judd for 6 years now, and we have followed him to the Horse of the Sun Ranch and Distinction Training. We make a 3 hour round trip drive to have Len help us with starting our new colts. We have watched the physical improvements to the facility under it's new ownership and it has come a long way with more to come. We have visited a number of times now, including a couple of 3-4 day stays on the property. We see a nothing less than quality care for the horses in residence. Len and Bethani are particularly keen on the quality of their feed even to the extent of concern for what our horses are fed back at home. These folks have nothing less than the greatest concern for the animals in their care. I've watched a small crew feed, water and muck all the pens on my every visit there. Horse of the Sun is now a training facility with training now exclusively from Len and Bethani, and not a general boarding facility. Len delivers such a depth of knowledge and new skills that we often find ourselves able to go months before we bring him our next challenge. Bethani has a great eye for what goes on with the rider and the horse and her observations have also been very helpful. We feel fortunate to have Len's experience with our first starting of young horses.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!…read more I have been patient in looking to add a kitten/cat to our family and stumbled across Marigold on a fosters Instagram page which prompted me to submit an application. Kat reached out the very next day after reviewing our application and pre approved us. Yelena reached out for all coordination afterwards. Marigold was not even posted on the rescues page but they were so kind and were able to get us in to meet her. The foster mom (and dad) were wonderful and have been doing this for so long (60+ kitties). We instantly fell in love with Marigold and were able to be selected to adopt her (pat on our back for being able to provide a good home). She came from a hoarder home and was lucky to survive from malnutrition. We came back to get her after getting she completed her shots/spayed. Not even 24 hours in, my one year old tabby loves her and she is settling in perfectly. I will say I have had not so great experiences with other rescues in the area and Dirty Little Paws surpassed all expectations! I hope one day I can repay them and foster another baby in need.

They have different animal experiences you can book in advance for on their website, but their most popular seems to be the one where you get to sit in a pool with otters! The session and communication beforehand were well organized and helpful. I won't spoil everything, but not only did we get to sit in a pool with otters zooming all over the place at the end, but we got to learn about, see, and touch about 6 other types of animals up close + walk through some of the property to view some other saved animals. For the otter swim, the team will take tons of photos using your phone or camera, so you can just enjoy the moment! They recommend wearing a tank or shirt over your swim suit (there will be time to change into it right before the swim), and J wish I wore a looser shirt, because it gives more space for the otters to wiggle in and explore :D Plenty of parking, clean restrooms on site, bring your own water/snacks if needed. Definitely a little pricey, but it goes to support the reserve and its little critters and was such a fun time! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a special experience for any animal lover :)

I sent her a text the morning of letting her know I was feeling contractions but they weren't regular yet. She responded by telling me they probably were Braxton Hicks and all was good. I pushed back a little knowing these were Braxton Hicks. Mind you I was 39+5 at this point so labor was expected. Around 5pm was our last talk about my birthing plan. She didn't know much about my hospital but that's okay. At midnight I called a ton trying to get ahold of her cause I was headed to the hospital. She never answered. Rang her many many times. She then had the audacity to show up 30 minutes after baby was born acting like she was going to be helpful. She tried to get me to latch baby even though in my plan I stated I was exclusively pumping. A nurse actually stepped in and told her I was pumping. I was extremely disappointed in her unprofessionalism. I wish I had had my brain to tell the nurses not to let her back if she did show up, or that I had just said something right away when she got there that I didn't need or want her there. I know she probably charged my insurance for a delivery and all. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
