Played an outing here and had a great time. Course was in good shape and offered a challenge because it's not a straight bomb and gouge layout. Pace was fine. Sometimes yardage felt a bit off on the course markers and GPS. Wish there were ball washers every hole. Halfway house and bar in the clubhouse had good selection of food/drinks at good prices. Turkey+Swiss on wheat for $5 was great mid-round. Never went long without seeing the cart girl either. I'll definitely come back to try the West course and play East again. read more

Played both of the courses at White Pines and had great experiences. There's been a massive surge for golf during the pandemic, and I've definitely loved being able to get back into the game. Looking to get back down to my 5 handicap with practice this winter, courses like White Pines will definitely allow me to do so. This course was in great condition and the holes were long and challenging from the tips. Just enough hazards to make this course fun to play, also very scenic during the fall season. This was my first time playing here and the place is so unorganized. It took us forever to find out where to get the golf cart. The staff were all in a group talking subtly laughing at us. Staff at pro shop were rude, looks like they hated their job(monotone and no positive attitude). Most courses have the big main entrance, give you a golf cart key and scorecard and you're done. THIS ONE, however, you have to walk all the way around the back to find the pro shop, we couldn't find where to get the golf cart, never got a scorecard (not in the pro shop), had to show your receipt in order to get a cart, it was all too complicated. When we finally got to play, the golf cart path is full of potholes it's impossible to drive on. My hopes were high for this one but if it weren't for that one older man actually helping us out, I would've just went back home. read more

Beautiful place for a wedding! We came here for a wedding last weekend. The weather couldn't have been better (did the golf course arrange that?) We arrived early and got to see the wedding set up by the pond. Quite perfect. The white arch. White folding chairs. Grassy greens in the backdrop. If you looked closely you could see the chairs need a little TLC but no one was looking. We were all too busy taking in the view of the bride and groom. As with outdoor weddings, it was a little tough to hear. Not sure if the golf course provided the sound system but it could have been turned up a bit. There are old people like me who don't have the same hearing they did when they were 20. Or 30. Or 40. The venue inside was quite lovely. High vaulted wood ceilings. A view out into the greens. There was a large balcony for people to get outside. The dinner service was quite efficient which was nice. And the servers were extra helpful with serving my boys -- who got chicken fingers and extra ketchup from the kitchen. As a guest, I obviously don't know what kind of service the family received or the cost. But as a guest it was a lovely wedding and reception in a wonderful location. read more

WPGC doesn't even deserve 1 star. Only 1 because their owner was responsive AFTER complaining... Here it goes.. We first went to WPGC and fell in love with the property. It is beautiful and spacious. Everything went smoothly when we signed our contract back in February. Our first coordinator, Katy, unfortunately left suddenly, and she was wonderful to work with. A woman named Paola Lopez took over when we met again in late March. Our initial meeting with her was very odd. She was very uptight, and anything we had discussed, she'd give us such an appalled/shocked look. Things that I had previously discussed with Katy, Paola would say "no absolutely not." I felt like I couldn't fully open up to her about my vision. Before we left, she also commented, "You're not one of those brides who will call me in the middle of the night are you?" She also said not to contact her, but she will contact us. Ok... I shrugged it off and didn't think too much into it. My fiancé and I followed up in early May via email. 1 week goes by. Then we contact again after a week and a half. No contact. By the end of May, I'm panicking because we didn't hear ANYTHING from her at all!! A month passed, and we're 4 months out now scrambling to find another venue. It took angry phone calls to the director of the park district and to the owner, Andrew, who showed good professionalism and actually got back to us. We canceled right away because there was no way I could work with that woman let alone any venue that doesn'tgive you a timely response. She is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. Says she has "years" of experience...yeah right! BEWARE, future brides and grooms! BeWARE!!!!! Oh and by the way, she never called back or apologized. read more

Place is poorly run. See the cart girl once every ten years. They had a golf outing in which they let everybody go to the halfway house to get their food so you have a line of about 65 people so if you wanted to get something to eat at the turn your screwed and then you don't see the cart girl on the back. The course was in great shape and had some fun holes. Greens ran well and weren't all perfectly flat which was good. The facilities were nice. There were two beverage carts going around and came by twice on the front and twice on the back. It was perfect. Two things that could have improved, the driving range seemed to be under construction or something, it was not very appealing. Also, there was a five some that was 3 or 4 groups ahead of us and once everyone caught up to them it was incredibly slow. Really takes you out of the mood when you are sitting at each hole for 5 minutes or more before you can tee off. This left a bad taste in my mouth but still have a good rating based on the course itself. read more

The course itself is not bad. However, it played extremely slow (5 hours) on a weekday as well. The main reason being that the course enforced a cart path only policy for carts. (We had a heavy rain early in the week but that was nearly 60 hours previous). The starter said it would be a10-15 minute shutdown of the cart if it strayed off the path. It was 90 degree day with about 90 pct humidity though. The starter recommended that we walk - so we took his advice. Too make matters worse, the beverage cart didn't show up until the tee box of the 18th hole after nearly suffering for 5 hours in that brutal heat with extremely slow play all day. White Pines East Golf Course - Arroyo/ Ramirez wedding. - Golf Near Me - Bensenville, Illinois

The course conditions are terrible. The tee boxes have no grass, the greens have ball marks everywhere and in some cases, hornets/wasps have burrowed into them. It was hot and humid yet they did not have any water coolers on the course. The foresome in front of us was extremely slow and there wasn't a ranger to be found. And their carts randomly shut off and make you drive backwards until you reach an area that allows you to go forward again but there aren't any indicators on the fairway to let you know when you were entering the forbidden zone. West Course isn't a bad golf course, the problem is the golf carts are absolutely trash. You can't drive off the cart path, they shut the carts down and you have to reverse everywhere just to look for your ball. Not to mention it is constantly held up by beginners who have no golf etiquette and spend 20 minutes on the green. I recently attended a wedding here and I have to say, I was more than pleasantly surprised. And this is slightly embarrassing but... my friend and I were a few minutes late so we were scooped up from the parking lot and driven the short distance to the ceremony in a golf cart. Love that! Take a gorgeous bride, a picturesque late summer day and the lush panorama of green trees and gently rolling hills. Sounds perfect, right? And it was. Everyone looked so radiant in the winking light of the setting sun. Brides, take note: White Pines photographs beautifully. Sniffle. Weddings always make me cry. Okay, so I shed one tear. Following the romantic ceremony, we were all ushered into the banquet facility. One big room with sweeping views of the golf course and a wrap-around terrace if you wanted to catch some fresh air. Or puff on a celebratory cigar. Or fall in love with a stranger... why not? Dinner was lovely, though thanks to the excessive indulgence of adult beverages I can't say I remember the minute details. But it was tasty, and provided us with the sustenance needed to dance the night away in style! As a spectator, I can't comment on the cost to hold a wedding here but I'd recommend it for your grand affair. Classy but not overdone with all of that exquisite scenery at your fingertips! read more

Another Friday night; another Fish Fry. We were really excited to try this place based on the recommendation of my BIL. So eight of us showed up for what we were hoping would be a great fish fry experience. It was advertised that there would be live jazz during dinner--so much different from the other places we have visited during Lent. The banquet room was lovely, set on the grounds of the golf club, it felt wide open and airy. That's about the only positive thing about dinner. First, it was ssssslllllloooooowwwww. We got there at 6, ordered at 615 and didn't get our food until after 7. And the jazz trio didn't start until playing until 7, even though they were there at 6 setting up. Wish they played earlier because the jazz could have made the natives less restless. The AYCE fish is perch. It was served piping hot, but many of us found many bones in our fish. I didn't mind it, I grew up eating fish I had to debone myself (Filipina FTW). But many at our table aren't used to that so I felt really bad for them as they kind of freaked out. The tartar sauce was gross, my little cup had a film on it (like what happens when left out) and the garlic mashed potatoes weren't garlicky at all, but kind of sweet (kind of gross as well). Service was cursory but not very professional. Our server brought over a small pack of oyster crackers for my son and she spilled some on the floor. No one ever came to clean it up so servers/bussers/diners are walking all over the crackers and by the end of dinner there was just a mess of cracker crumbs all over the place. We do fish fry's on Friday for the folks in my family that follow Lent, but you can be sure WP won't be on our list next year. read more

This 36-hole course is great for those of us who are city dwellers as it is right off of 290 at 83 North. It only takes about 20-30 minutes to get here depending on traffic. Love it. Beautiful golf course with a substantial amount of trees and water. Fairways are pretty narrow and not really forgiving. If you have a wicked slice then you may not want to play here because you might not find your balls in all of the trees. The rough is pretty thick and dense so it shortened some of the distance on my shots. But it made the experience more fun. We paid $40/person without cart or $50/person with cart. That's fairly reasonably priced for a beautiful course. I will definitely play here again! read more

We had our wedding here and we could not be more pleased.The service is absolutely phenomenal, the prices were beyond reasonable, and the food was great! Gorgeous setting for photos, very classy feel. AMAZING bar staff! They mad us pitchers of White Russians! It was jut the most fun wedding ever! The price for what you get is absolutely unbeatable. They are so flexible and will make sure to work with you to make sure you get whatever you want. The room looked so stunning when we first arrived, it brought tears to my eyes. I still can't believe how perfectly things turned out! They will work with you to make everything perfect-no need to hire a day-of planner: they will help you plan everything! After lots of google searches for a winter wedding venue that was beautiful on the inside and not just a cookie cutter banquet hall, I found white pines. In addition to being a beautiful venue, the staff was wonderful to work with. From the planning process all the way to the day of, they staff always responded quickly to my emails and questions. We lucked out with a beautiful December day, but I can only imagine how the ceremony would be outdoors by the pond. We were able to get beautiful pictures by the pond though. I also got so many compliments on the food. My uncle said it was the best steak he had ever tasted. The Chicken Vesuvio was also delicious. I hadn't focused on the food because most people don't seem to remember it anyway, but it ended up being a high point for our guests. The day of staff were impeccable. If anything went wrong or out of place, I did not notice it. The hostesses helped set everything up perfectly! I just dropped off my stuff the day before with labels and a diagram and they set it up. And they made everything run so smoothly. The bartender served everyone quickly and he was very nice. The servers were quick, very sweet and skilled at their jobs. At the end of the night the staff packaged everything up so that I could come back and pick up stuff the next day. Also I wasn't sure at first about having chair covers, chiavari chairs or just using their basic black chairs. In the end we went with the black chairs and that worked perfectly. There were unobtrusive and blended in with the surroundings. So that could be a way to save money. read more

I cannot express how delighted I am that I chose White Pines as our ceremony and reception venue! That staff was so helpful and attentive - I really felt completely taken care of as a bride. We definitely were looking into a venue that could host an outdoor ceremony, and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. The banquet hall itself has stunning views of the grounds and tall, gorgeous ceilings. We had so much fun taking photos outdoors with our photographer. Dinner was delicious, the open bar package is a steal, and we received nothing but compliments from our guests. Pretty average course with decent value ($34 for 18 walking). Conditions were fine considering it was November. I played as a single and was supposed to be paired with three others. Instead, four people showed up and the starter sent me off alone. I was waiting on almost every shot. Luckily a group ahead let me join them as a 6 sum which made the round more enjoyable. Mother's Day brunch was delicious and and excellent value! Will look for future brunches to attend. The beautiful setting was a great first impression, and the complimentary valet was an added bonus for our family since my mother-in-law is in a wheelchair. There was nothing left off this buffet menu. When I called to make my reservation I asked what would be on the buffet, and was most excited about the cold seafood bar. The oysters and crab legs were out of this world! All you can eat for $32.95 (adults)!! I ate that just at the seafood station alone. Other buffet standouts were the Asian chicken salad and the seared beef medallions. I also enjoyed the endless champagne bar, as I am a Bellini fan! There was a endless Bloody Mary bar as well. My review swings between a 4 star and 3 star review - 3 stars for the East Course and 4 stars for the West Course. This is a nice, old, non-pretentious golf course within 30 minutes of Chicago. Good driving range, Excellent Dome in the winter, and a good group of people running the place. Tips: 1 - Since they're the same price, try to play the WEST course. Much more challenging and in better shape. 2 - Bring bug spray 3 - Try to take in one of their signature "Steak Night". It's something that everyone should experience. read more

No doubt about it that White Pines is an excellent municpal golf facility. Great putting greens and range area. Decent pro shop and grill. Ample parking. Both East and West Course are well taken care of with tip top greens. We played in the middle of a long drought and this course was green all over. Sand full and raked. Great value at 35-50$. Its busy so play early. Narrow and challenging. Rescue shots are a bitch here. I prefer the East course. My one beef are the cart paths which have no asphalt or dirt....just rocks. Why? Still, love White Pines. Wish it were closer and cheaper on weekend AMs. read more

Writing this review for my dad. Wish I could give them a zero. Mike Cameron kicked him and his group of 28 out because they were moving "too slow" according to him. Although there was no time limit stated and no warning. And insisted that 2 of them did not pay even though they all had receipts. My dad and his friends are a group of Filipino men and they believe that they were kicked out because of MIKE CAMERONS racism. They are apart of a golf club and literally go to different golf courses every week and have NEVER had a problem. It's crazy that they would kick out an entire group of paying customers, and offer no sort of refund. Racism is alive and well at white pines golf course. Don't give them your money. read more

I'm a beginner golfer and enjoyed playing 18 holes on the 'West' course. It's a pretty busy spot, so I would definitely recommend being mindful of your tee time. We had to wait a little bit on each hole as there was a slow team two holes in front of us, but aside from that - things went along smoothly. I was disappointed to see that the concession stand was closed when I went looking for a hot dog around 4:30pm (on a Sunday), but thankfully I packed a granola bar. The staff was nice and the course was kept in good condition. I didn't lose a ball once to overgrown grass, which was a relief. I did lose a few balls to the water - but I'll chalk that up to beginners' luck. My golfing buddy is relatively advanced and enjoyed the course as well. We will both be back. read more

What a dump. Not every golf course is going to be 5 stars, this is a decent course to learn on, or get a cheap quick round in, but for 50 bucks on a weekday you could keep some sand in the traps, prune a tree. Simple stuff. read more

Overall a very poor experience out at White Pines. Charged me $10 extra because I wanted my own cart because I was golfing with people I don't live with during the pandemic. When we arrived at the starter, he said as a group we could only have 3 carts. Told him we paid extra to have the individual cart and he accused us that we didn't pay anything extra. After showing him receipts he still said we could only have three carts and two of us would need to partner up, not really caring that we are trying to respect social distancing and more concerned that we had 4 carts. The driving range was closed. They don't accept cash. One of the tee boxes was under maintenance. The cart I had stopped moving forward for half of a whole and completely reset, wiping out my score and disabling the GPS the remainder of the round. I would not recommend White Pines to any one. Just their general disregard for player safety during COVID-19 is enough to find another course. read more

Great pricing, beautiful looking course, friendly staff, pace of play is pretty good since they have two 18 hole courses to spread everyone out on, beer/food girls driving around. Only complaint is the fairways and greens have been hammered this year from all the rain. But they're working on it. This place is our home track cus it's a good halfway point for me (suburb dweller) and the rest of my foursome (city dwellers). There are many better golf courses out past me, but this is one of the better ones for the price this close to the city. read more

Each year our golf club would always schedule a game or two on this nice and we'll managed course but last Saturday August 8, 2020 our group of 28 players playing at East course experienced our worst nightmare after the Course Manager stopped our ongoing game with an allegation that 2 golfers did not pay. Our ongoing tournament was disrupted due to these allegations of dishonesty for non payment and slow pace in which not a single warning was given. After some argument we found out that all players paid and due to mismanagement some payments were credited to the West Course. The unprofessionalism and arrogance displayed not only disrupted our mini tournament and made us look pathetic. We will never play in this course again unless the person responsible is reprimanded or fired. This is really bad for golf and business. read more

After my wedding and reception was at White Pines, I had to write them a glowing review. If you want an outdoor wedding and reception right after, this is the place to go. The entire process, they have been so nice, accomidating, excited for you, supportive, willing to take care of any concerns. They are huge on customer service, and making you happy. If you are lucky enough to have your wedding outside on a nice day, the atmosphere doesn't get better. I can't wait to see our pictures. They make sure there are no golfers going through during your ceremony etc. They also have a day of coordinator that makes sure everything goes ok. Even if it's rainy the day before, the entire area where the wedding is has either brick or asphault so there's no worry of walking in the mud. They have a beautiful balcony outside of the wedding reception room, great vaulted ceilings, and did a wonderful job taking specific direction on where we needed things to be. The food was delicious. We got so many compliments on it. Everyone says "Don't sweat the mistakes at your wedding, something will definately go wrong. There will be some kind of mistake." if there was, we didn't know about it. Everything went very smoothly. And they even boxed everything up for us that was forgotten at the end of the night and called the mother of the bride. I can't say enough good things about the experience. They really went above and beyond. One thing I will say and this is not at all something against them, but something people should know going in and ask before booking. Their only method of payment when you pay for the reception and ceremony is cash or check. It's something I totally respect, but if you are planning on paying some of it off with a credit card, it could come as a scary surprise if you didn't think of that beforehand.. The food was so good that our guests want to go back just to eat again! The banquet staff was so friendly and helpful throughout my entire wedding process.
