Cute place. Milk tea half sweet was good. Played a couple rounds of tic-tac-toe and connect four.

I really wanted to like Ono Grindz, especially with a concept rooted in Hawaiian culture, but…read moreunfortunately the experience didn't reflect that at all. From the moment we walked in, the two employees working didn't greet us or acknowledge us, and their demeanor made it feel like we were inconveniencing them just by being there. There's a big difference between basic customer service and true hospitality and this place missed both. There were also some frustrations with how orders are handled. The business charges an extra $2.50 for maybe a tablespoon of gluten-free granola, but doesn't adjust pricing if ingredients are removed or unavailable. I understand most businesses don't do this but it sometimes evens out when items are removed and unavailable. For example, I was told after ordering that they were out of coconut, which was supposed to come on my item. I was asked if that was okay, but realistically, what's the alternative in that moment? It just felt like another instance of paying for something I didn't receive. At one point, the employee preparing our order walked past us multiple times without acknowledgment to speak with her coworker, which added to the overall feeling of being ignored. A place inspired by Hawaiian culture should carry some sense of "aloha", warmth, welcome, and care. Unfortunately, that was completely missing here. We won't be returning, and that's disappointing because the concept has so much potential.

The menu is great, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. They even gave my DIL a free smoothie (for her birthday). Overall, excellent, we will definitely be back when we're in Waxahachie.

The Açaí Bar is one of the new retailers off of FM 548 next to Wing Stop and Lemon Drop Nail Bar…read more The inside is incredibly clean and has sufficient seating. The decor is minimal but bright, mostly images of the items they sell. Service was excellent. I ordered the Almond Berry Açaí bowl & it may have been one of the best things I've tasted this month. It was very refreshing, filling, and flavorful. On the menu it shows this bowl being discontinued because this location doesn't have any mulberries, but Lauren was sweet enough to let me still get it and substitute the mulberries for another fruit. I chose pineapple which was good, but I think was either canned or frozen based on the texture. All the other fruits were fresh and sweet. If you're not into açaí bowls that's fine because they offer a variety of other refreshments (smoothies, avocado toast, paninis etc). One thing I noticed before I left was that they're participating in Toys for Tots, so from now through December they're accepting new unwrapped gifts to be donated to those without for the holiday season. What an incredibly thoughtful way to give back to the community. So if you're in the area, give this place a chance to feed your mind body and spirit.

The cashier is always super and helpful. The place has plenty of seating and games on the tables for customers to enjoy which is pretty cool.

The restaurant had a good amount of tables inside but I Liked that they have a patio. The snow cones were great. Loved that the snow cone had that smooth ice and not that chunky kind and the flavor was good for both. The bomb pop had a small bomb pop in the snow cone which was cool and our gummy own had gummy bears on top and a lot at the bottom. One of the things I didn't like was the person on the registers attitude. I ordered 3 small snow cones but even if they were small they were still pretty big. The cup was a little to big for my 1 year old so I went and asked if I could just get a small cup or a bowl to give my 1 year old since she couldn't hold the cup without spilling. Weeeeell if you ever want to do that they charge you for a cup. So I didn't get the cup. I meeeeaaann I kinda get but still very inconvenient. Because I had to fight with a 1 year old the whole time. Which ended with a spill. I would have been ok with like one of those small water cups but it is what it is. Overall the sno cones were great. Survive was not that great.

Everything tasted super fresh, and the flavors worked really well together. The Blue Majic base was smooth and refreshing definitely something I'd get again. The staff was friendly, and the manager stood out in particular super helpful and clearly knew the menu well. She took the time to walk us through some of the base and topping options, which made the process easy, especially for a first-timer. The restaurant itself was bright and very clean, which I appreciated. The only downside was there was a bit of a weird smell nothing overpowering, but noticeable enough to mention. It didn't ruin the experience, just something that took away from the otherwise fresh vibe. All in all, it's a solid spot for a healthy treat. Not quite a 5-star visit this time, but I'd definitely come back to try more combinations.
