The location is convenient in proximity to where I live and I was thrilled they had availability on a Friday evening for me to come in for a pedicure. The place is quaint and well lit. The lady who greeted me was pleasant but everyone else seemed to have a preoccupied attitude except when I was asking the nail tech (who also happened to be the lady who greeted me) to use a different nail clipper because my nail was not cut down the way I wanted and looked uneven. The owner/manager of the salon came over, with an attitude, to ask me what was wrong? I explained to her what I was asking for and she seemed annoyed but understood. No one communicated to me who they were and if they were taking care of my nails or not. So, I waited for a new tech who came and did my pedicure but did not say a word to me and asked me what I wanted. I again explained the kind of pedicure and even pointed it out. $85 later and I do not feel I received a pedicure worth $85. I should have known that seeing that I was the only customer getting a pedicure ‍ A few things could be improved here: - Licenses should be displayed, which when I went they were not - A sterilizer like an autoclave should be used after each customer. Poly Gel Nails - 1/5 My cuticles were so cut up from the sanding that they burned for days every time I washed my hands. I also had to go under the UV light for every single nail, which made the process drag on forever compared to salons that cure them partially before placing the entire hand under the light. The nails looked beautiful at first (the red tip was perfect) but it was one of those moments where you have to gaslight yourself into loving them because they look nice, even though something feels off. I almost immediately regretted it. Later, my new nail salon confirmed what I suspected without me even saying anything... that the gel was applied way too thick. I've since tried Gel X, which looks far more natural. Customer Service - 3/5 The manager was doing my nails while also taking phone calls and tending to other tasks, which extended my appointment. It didn't bother me much at the time, but I do think the multitasking impacted the quality of the work. Pedicure - 5/5 The pedicure was great... smooth, relaxing, and perfectly done. If I could give it 0 stars I would! I called this salon as they "advertise" they offer Russian manicures. I asked the woman on the phone if I could simply get a Russian manicure with no additional service...she assured and reassured me that it was possible and quoted me the price. I made the appt for 7p same day. I drive all the way across town to get my service only to get to the salon and receive no customer service and when I explain to the woman what I had asked for even with proof of the voicemail that was left confirming what I asked for, she tells me that all they can do is a regular manicure. So then why would your receptionist or whoever answered tell me what I asked for was possible? Then no apology just oh "yea what you asked for isn't possible." Waste of time, energy and gas! Even if I was looking for a new place to get my nails done....it wouldn't be this place after this horrible experience. Train your staff to properly advise clients before wasting their time and money! Then actually use customer service when YOU'RE in the wrong! So irritating and rather disappointing! read more

I just visited white rose for the first time this week based on a friend recommendation. I made an appointment the night before and showed up the next morning. Very easy check in. The place is so clean. I did a Russian manicure with builder gel and chrome. And the pricing was amazing! I ended up getting a pedicure too and LOVED it. I've found my new nail spot. I live in downtown Richmond and it's worth the drive over to White Rose! You won't be disappointed! read more

I was excited to try a new place so close to home with great reviews. I appreciated being able to make an online appointment and didn't even mind paying the $20 up front "deposit." When I arrived my name was not on any of their books, but I did have an email confirmation and they were ready to help me. And then I asked if they autoclave their instruments, as I saw some hanging around. No, they do not. The young lady asked if I am diabetic, and I am but I also have joint replacements. I have visited this shop twice. My nail tech of 6 years was out of the country for a month.. so I was forced to try a new salon for a full set! The first time visiting White Rose, I had an amazing experience! I mean, literally .. the service was sooo good, I cheated on my nail tech and came back a second time which is probably where I went wrong. After 2 days of getting a fill in.. two of my nails chipped on both sides and the polish on my thumb lifted completely (no biggie right) I reached out to the owner to schedule a time to come in for a repair (see attached photos of our conversation). I have been getting my nails done for over 15 years and I have NEVER had this happen. And the fact that there was zero accountability, is literally disheartening. So much potential, but I will not be returning. I hope you all have a better experience than I did! And I truly hope White Rose takes this as a learning experience. read more

I got lucky because this salon provided professional service with helpful, pleasant staff in a super clean environment. I picked the top of the line spa pedicure and it was worth the extra money.
