The place is clean. The food is fresh. Can't really comment on the service because every server is different. Had the zucchini strips. The dipping sauce was only sour creme mixed with ranch which was very bland and not tasty at all. The place is never busy when you go there but sometimes the kitchen is still slow. Ordered a online pickup order and was told it was to be ready at 6:15. We arrived and paid and was told to wait in the car and it will be brought to us. We waited until 6:40 and went to help as there would be several bags with drinks. Our order was nowhere being ready and waited another 10 minutes after a mad scramble and told sorry repeatedly...which didn't mean much. We were missing parts of our order, 2 sets of fries, salad and gravy that we paid for! No napkins, utensils or condiments. I asked what the point of an online system is that gives a pick up time when our order would not be ready besides that there was at least 3-4 customers that arrived for their order and it was ready! Gilmore is the best White Spot out there! I have tried lots of them and some have really disappointed me! But this one is always consistant with the food. I only go to White Spot for 2 reasons: the burgers and the fries. I also like their sunny start breakfast which looks like a burger but has eggs, bacon and the secret triple O sauce! You can get it with hashbrowns (which I don't like because they are grated and pan fried) or fruit. For the burgers, I like them all but I have 3 favorites: legendary, tandoori chicken (this one is on special sometimes) and the grilled chicken burgers. Their fries are the best! They are always freshly fried and hot and they are thick homestyle cut...yum!. Oh forgot to say bottomless???. This location is usually very busy but it has good rotation (i think I have waited 15 min max to be seated). Service is ok. There are 2 servers that rock (i wish I knew their names). The rest are pretty average. Food comes out fast depending on how busy they are. Now they have the dessert trio but my favorite is still the brownie and ice cream dessert (fresh and warm). I can't go without mentioning their milkshakes! They are amazing! If you crave a good burger, visit this location and you will not be disappointed! read more

Ate here Saturday at lunch. Waitress took our order and we didn't see her again for 40 minutes. Was very hard to eat without drinks or condiments. Bottomless fries and drink never were refilled. Well we did see her chatting with another table that wasn't actually hers for about 15 minutes. Food is usually better at other locations but ok. It was pretty bland, dry, under dressed. Multiple waitress near collisions makes me think the staff here is not well trained, CORNER! See it's easy lol. I remember coming here with my friends for a dinner. I just wanted a double double burger because I know that would it definitely satisfy my hunger for sure. It came out with the salad and the fries. It tasted like how it should be. It was fresh and tasty. Fries were ok. Salad had a watery mayonnaise which kinda ruined the experience. Would I come back again? Normally Whitespot restaurants are generally pretty good but when I went today it was one of the worst meals we had there. Food took 45 minutes to come. Not A big deal as it was busy. When the food came out every dish had an issue with it. Pretty hard to screw up a legendary burger but they did. Patty was burnt and there was little to none legendary sauce , the Caesar salad had no salad dressing on it, the zoo sticks we ordered on the classic plate was also burnt. Even the beef dip sauce was so watered down it had no taste. Even the table next to us complained their dish was burnt and asked for a refund. When we asked to talk to the manager, we had to wait over 15 minutes. I think I will stick to the Richmond center white spot. Wr never had a bad experience there and we been going for years there. read more

Haven't been back since being very sick for days from food poisoning after eating their salmon and seafood trio. Since then have heard numerous stories of food poisoning. Several co-workers violently ill after eating roast beef sandwiches, family members sick after eating coleslaw, and of an insider saying they are very sloppy in storing their sauces! read more

i had to do some business in North Burnaby on Thursday morning so I thought I would drop in to grab some breakfast. I had the blueberry pancakes with smashed hash browns and coffee. This location was the saving grace of the Birthday party between my family. We had such terrible service at the establishment that we were at before, that we (actually my mom) had this idea to go for cheesecake and dessert here to save the evening and make my dad feel better about his Birthday. White Spot is always good. If you order a meal it is always consist ant! Very nice staff and food is ready nice and quick. Some locations still have drive up service as well so that you can eat in your car with a tray across sitting on the window sills!!!! read more

One of the comforting things about chain restaurants is their predictability. And White Spot is a perfect example of that. But they do try to keep things fresh by adding seasonal items, such as different types of burgers and various pastas. This time, they were featuring Fish and Chips. We wanted to try a few more things, and realized that we were actually in time for their Happy Hour menu. Yes, White Spot has happy hour! From 3-6 daily, select appetizers are only $6. There is the Shanghai Chicken Nachos. It's a little odd and carelessly pulled together, with the toppings scattered quite unevenly over the wonton crisps, some had hardly anything on top. But we rejigged it amongst ourselves and the roasted chicken with the soy cilantro marinade was actually quite good. There could have been more cheese and a bit less hoisin sauce but overall, this was a pleasant bite. Another old standby is the Nat's Crispy Dry Ribs. We found these a bit too dry; they seemed either overdone or worse, refried. Simply tossed in Salt and Pepper, these were fair, and worth the $6 but I was disappointed by them. As I mentioned earlier, they were featuring their Fish and Chips, so we decided to try them. They normally use cod for this entree, but the deal was $16.99 for two pieces of Halibut and bottomless fries. Since there were three of us, we added a few extra dollars for a third piece of fish. Well, I have to say, this was stellar. Crispy and light batter with a super flaky and juicy fish on the inside. These were cooked to a rich golden colour and weren't oily at all. Definitely worth the visit. Take Note: The staff are very young and they seem short-staffed all the time. No one clearing empty tables. Skip the ribs but give their other appies a try. Burgers are always solid but the fries can sometimes be really greasy. read more

I visited this place today around 8 and the foods and service were terrible. There were 3 servers and all of them were very impolite. I felt they were being racist to us because they were nice to all other customers those who were white. They never came to ask how the foods or drinks are. After we ate everything, we asked for the bill and the server ignored us for several times. Even after we got the bill, the server was demanding for the tip and trying to not give the change back. Because we were not satisfied with foods and services, we asked for the change, and the server made us to wait almost 25 minutes from then. This White Spot is one of my favourites as it's pretty close to my place and it's comfort food at its best!! My standard last year before they changed the menu was the tortilla salad with bean, corn, chicken...but very sadly, they took it off the menu :( My new regular order is the salmon sandwich with cesar salad on the side. Poor service and luke warm food. Got there before the dinner rush and was seated next to the washrooms that had a draft. I had to wear my jacket the whole time. I used to really like White Spot, then liked it less, and now I am back to liking it. It is obviously not a place for a first date, but a great family restaurant. Big variety to choose from and very kid friendly. As a vegetarian family, we got the veggie and salmon burgers which were both really good. The kids had the veggie burger, which was really delicious. We substituted the fries with steamed broccoli. Our waitress made a small mistake with our order and the manager went out of his way to compensate us for the inconvenience. This is a really nice family restaurant where you can enjoy a healthy meal and get a good service without spending too much. Will definitely be back for family celebrations. read more

I used to hit up White Spot all the time. Not so much the last year or two. I had lunch here with my nieces recently, and it was, I'm sorry to say, not very good. We were not well attended by the server, even though it was a late lunch and the restaurant lunch rush was over, so no excuses about it being busy, she didn't check in on us, didn't notice our drinks were empty, and we sat with our dirty dishes in front of us for far too long before they were cleared. At that time we got our bill, and she disappears again. Nobody to flag down now, and we want to get going, so I just had to leave the cash on the table. I hate doing that. The food? Well niece #1 liked her chicken strips. Niece #2 had a burger and caesar salad - but she didn't finish half of it, she said the salad was too creamy, and something about the burger not being great. I went for the basic Legendary White Spot burger and fries. It was ho hum. The bun seemed kinda stale, the burger was overly salty and was loaded with sauce. Not good as I remembered. I really don't know what to say about this location anymore?! We walked in last night, got totally ignored by this Asian kid running the front door. After watching him fumble around for a minute or two, my wife said "HI" he promptly jumped up from his daze and had a complete look of stupid on his face!! My wife asked him if he had a manager working? He replied "no" my wife walked though the restaurant and asked a server why a manager wouldn't be working on a Saturday night? She promptly pointed a manager out to the wife, and we found out that this guy was no better than this other dope working!! Two people sleeping while standing up!! This location has been a sinking ship for a long time, and from time to time we go to see why!! It hasn't changed at all!! White Spot used to be a great place to dine, and now it's just not even on my radar! I tell everyone to avoid this place And being in the industry I'm in, that's a lot of people!! A somewhat frequent diner at white spots as I have two kids that love the pirate packs I was extremely disappointed by my experience using the car service at the lougheed and Gilmore location today. The wait to order and get my food was ok but that was about it. Fish and chips were average with some doughy parts of batter on both pieces. The worst part was the wait to pay. They either have a poor system for the waitress working the drive up or she needs a lot of training. Had my hazards on for at least 15 minutes and didn't once see her look outside, in fact I only saw her once pouring a drink for what I assume is either take out or tables inside. The car beside me finally went in and got her to come out. After helping them I assumed she noticed my hazards on and would be out to take my money. Wrong!! After another 5+ minutes I drive up to the door and had to honk. She came out and when I asked if she saw my hazards she said yes but that she had the other cars tray and had to come back. That's nice but as I pointed out she didn't come out!? She said she was going to buy a couple other people came in. It's very seldom in fact probably the second time in over a decade, that I don't tip but this was not tip worthy. Don't know what the service is like inside but avoid the car service. I also tried to call the restaurant but the phone was either off the hook or they only have one line as it didn't get through. Not even a message to say there is a wait on the phone. read more

Don't drive away from here without checking your take out order thoroughly. Once again I get home and the order is not right. This time the pirate pack for my granddaughter is not in the bag. Last time the fish and chip pirate pack had no chips. They said I didn't order chips?? And yet another time I ordered a brie and mushroom veggie burger (a great burger) and got a beef burger. Another time I said no onions on the veggie burger only to get the equivalent of 1/2 cup of onions on it. Yes my wife measured them. You can scrape off the onions but I am told that the flavour remains behind. How about the burned to a crisp grilled cheese. What child is going to eat that?? I got smart and bought a bag of little Dixie cups to keep in the freezer because the ice cream is often forgotten. Got refund coupons when I complained BUT who is it that attaches the "Double Checked" label to my bag without double checking the order. One bright sunny day,I decided to have dinner at my favourite park,confederation park and I chose my favourite restaurant as a takeout on Gilmore and Lougheed not far from the park,I thought I would do some people watching and enjoy my favorite cheeseburger and a cup of their famous and also a favourite clam chowder and a diet coke,I ordered it ten miinutes before I got there and waited about another ten minutes,the takeout girl was very friendly so I tipped her a couple of bucks like I usually do.Anyways I got my food,paid $22.00 for a burger and soup,and I rushed off to the park to enjoy it before it got cold,I got to the park opened my burger and it was not even warm,let alone hot,I was very dissappointed at this as it seemed like it was sitting under the lights for a whlle,I ate it anyways and well thought the soup would make up for it,I finished the burger reluctantly and then grabbed my soup from the bag,it seemed awfully light I remember saying to myself,I opened it and I almost had a caniption as there was a mere thickness of a finger of soup in the cup,but hey it was very hot,what a bonus,I felt like taking it all back but was too ashamed thinking they would think I ate everything first,anyways I went to grab my straw for my drink,and you guessed it,NO FREAKING STRAW,At this point I almost flipped,I guess its true what they say,everything happens in threes,but this was no doubt the worst experience I have ever had with this restaurant.No More takeout for me. read more

White Spot has always been a local favourite since I grew up in Vancouver. Now, I have allergies to gluten, egg and dairy and they were not accommodating at all. for lunch, I had asked if I could take out eggs from a dish and pay less, but the waiter said no. I asked to get more of the other ingredients to make up for it, and he still said no, but would ask his manager if he could do anything. He came back and said no modifications whatsoever and the price is the price with no aplogies or empathetic attitube. Considering that White Spot has been around since 1928 in Vancouver, they should be more accommodating to people with allergies; more people have allergies these days. I really enjoy going to White Spot for lunch or dinner. This is one of my favorite places in Vancouver because the food is always fresh, and it always tastes very good. My favorite dishes are the Caesar Salad, Chicken Fingers,and the BC chicken burger. My favorite drink from there would be the Strawberry Milkshake. I'm very familiar with this location, usually going about once a month. However, after the last two experiences, I'm not coming back. Nothing wrong with the food, but the service is absolutely terrible. The first time we were seated in a glassed-in area at the side of the building that used to be an entrance. I felt like a hothouse tomato. This seating is obviously an afterthought designed to cram in a few additional customers, and shows absolutely no concern for a customer's comfort. The waiter pulled down the blinds, but what with being crammed in with a couple of noisy families, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Which was difficult, because they had "problems" in the kitchen and our order took almost 30 minutes to arrive. They did give us a 50% discount, though, without asking, which was appreciated. The next visit, our waitress was pretty much non-existent. She finally appeared and took our order after about 10 minutes, brought it to us, and brought us the bill. No stopping by to say she'd be right with us, no asking how the meal was, no asking if we'd like a refill of coffee - nothing. I was so annoyed I didn't leave a tip. At mid-afternoon on a Saturday, I expect much better service for two people when it's not busy. read more
